1)How to identify acids: starts with H(hydrogen)
2)How to identify base: ends with OH
3)How to identify salts ends with ate(eg - nitrates)/ends with ide( eg- chlorides)

No, it also should start with a metal, or else some compounds like H2SO4 (which ends with sulphate) is a acid because H is a non metal.
