I wish I would have played more pinball back in the day. I had no one to explain to me the wonders of pinball. As a kid, I had no idea that there were objectives to complete and a progression like a video game. I just thought that they all were entirely high score based and all you did was get the balls in different spots on the board to get more points.
Same here! I would occasionally try it out if I thought a new machine looked particularly cool - like I remember trying Terminator 2 because it had the gun handle and big skull toy - but I'd instantly drain, and walked away thinking it was a ripoff. The thing that finally got me into pinball, after 20 or so years of being around it but largely ignoring it, was a friend sending me clips of some pinball music. He knew I loved video game music and wanted to try to expose me to pinball so he basically used it as a gateway. This wasn't one of the tracks he sent me, but he did send me some from Banzai Run, by the same composer. I ended up loving the music and seeking out the games because of it, and only then did I meet other players and start to realize how skillful and deep pinball was. I had always assumed before that it was just sort of random and luck-based and that there was nothing much to it besides seeing some toys move if you hit them with the ball. Anyway, we can't change the past, but I'm glad we both ended up learning to love pinball in the end. Spread the word!
A mate and i thrashed the shit out of this at the Australian pinball museum my mate got 9999999 I got 7 million hadn't played it for 30 years multiball theme sounded very similar to sport sound music that channel 7 in Australia use to use in the 80s and 90s
Thanks for composing! Your music was one of the main things that got me into pinball, and now I operate pinball machines for a living. Also, check out this new-ish cover of this tune if you haven't seen it yet: th-cam.com/video/xWAF-6DjMIc/w-d-xo.html&index=1&list=PL8gbAdBgHQUZBMgPB6aELG4xLkIBi9eON
First of all, I love the music of the "sword of Fury", especially the high score theme blew my mind. One question is allowed, dear Brian: If you are a fan of the Chicago Bulls or the Alan Parsons Project, keyword "Sirius" :-)
I first played Swords Of Fury at SFO airport, back when the airport had an arcade game room. I remember waking up a homeless guy who was sleeping under the pinball machine!
OMG I've had the memory of this game and it's tune in my head for 30 years and I finally found it again! I had long forgotten its name... Thanks for this.
Left orbit all day. The locks are always available, even if the light is not on. It never gets harder. At the start of Multiball, use the upper flipper to go up the center ramp for an immediate Lionman collect. This will also put the ball on the upper level, so hit the flashing Magic target for jackpot. After you have both Lionman and Jackpot, stay alive as long as you can in Multiball. Then, regain control and resume left orbit all day. Repeat until you roll the score over and get bored. It's still a fun game, though, because of this music!
There's also hitting the center ramp so you can collect Lionman for 1M instead of 125K or so. And, running Ogres Alley up to 500K then waiting to collect it at the start of multiball when the 3x scoring is in effect for a nice 1.5M but you can only do that once per game. If you can collect AVENGER during the 3x scoring for 150K or 250K you get 450K or 750K, as well.
ive used to own 2 different Swords of fury.. im sure i will get my 3rd one in the future and that one will never go my household! i really love this game, this game hooked me forever onto pinball as i played this many many many times back in 1988, it maded my summer vacation awesome :)
So amazing soundtrack! Since my first game on SOF in 90's ( I remember... My dad got it in her bar ) i never forget this awesome music. i really appreciate to hear it again! :-)
@@capi.strano7620 I don't know if Brian Schmidt is a big Chicago Bulls fan or adores the Alan Parsons Project, in both cases I recognize "Sirius" as the main theme.

This is SUCH a great sound track particularly when played at decibel levels in excess of 120 in residentially zoned areas at midnight

Best soundtrack ever for a pinball game.
That award goes to black knight 2000 but this one is certainly not far behind.

I'm so glad this was uploaded. Like several others have said, this is easily the best track I've heard from a pin machine.

fuckin hell yes this is so good. it almost sounds like something from the tron legacy soundtrack by daft punk
Multiball theme seems to be inspired by the great Emmerson, Lake and Palmer 👍👍👍
There seems to be some Alan Parsons, Sirius in the main music, as well.
LIONMAN, DEFEAT THE BALROG
Lionman!

Just missing the best High-Score Theme ever - Swords of Fury
I've been told the high score music is a Bach fugue, but I can't identify which one.
