    I have a 4 pin plug on the forklift charger and need to change it to the 5 as my socket has 5 holes however there are only 4 wires coming out our the charger, Black, Brown, Grey, Yellow/Green. How can I wire this into a 5 pin plug?

    Does it miss labeled L1 and L3? Shouldn’t L1 and N next to earth?

      L¹ & N is the same position as its Single ∅ CEE commando Plug counterparts.
      For Plugs, looking from the terminal wiring side, with PE prong downwards,
      L¹ on Left ,while N is on Right.
      L² & L³ will rotate Sequentially After L¹ Until it Reaches N.

    Can I use 5pin plug for single phase ?, problem is in my local area its only 32a plug available, but my generator is 40a 220v single-phase
    PE pin for PE
    L1 and L2 for Live
    L3 and N for Neutral

    • @temp06j723-pmeighttq
      @temp06j723-pmeighttq ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you wouldn't do that.
      If your CEE Socket & Plug are 5prong but you are utilising 1 ∅ only, then:
      PE prong for Earthing wire
      N prong for Neutral wire
      EITHER L¹, L² or L³ (choose any one) for your Line(live) wire .

    What about when the plug has a pilot pin? What is it used for an if not needed can you leave the terminal blank?

      Pilot pin is used on some supplies to engage a contactor that then switches the power on. Useful for motors so you do not connect whilst live.

      Pilot contact is available in 63A and 125A plugs and sockets. Kind regards...

    • @battipav
      @battipav  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dear Evert, the important thing is to connect the yellow/green wire to the ground and the blue wire to neutral one. The other wires can be of different colors and connected in the preferred sequence. Best Regards

    And you don't connect stranded cables like that... you use ferrules or soldering iron!!

    • @alttee4321
      @alttee4321 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ferrules are a legal requirement in UK on stranded fine cable, soldering is not allowed as creates a weak joint that WILL fail. This assembly method fails a PAT test :)

    good video, but the "wrong plug"(316-6) can sometimes be the right one, yesterday I replaced an old illegal outlet (Semko 17) with a 316-6 because the cable just have 4 conductors (3P+E). I know some cheat and install a 416-6 outlet without a Neutral but I would never do it

    • @battipav
      @battipav  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear Mr. Pontus,
      Thank you for your message!
      Our machines are designed to be connected to 5 pins cables .
      Other kind of power supplies, not provided for by the manufacturer and not indicated in the instruction and maintenance manual are not allowed, failing which the warranty void.
      Best Regards

      sorry, I missed the part that you make machines. yes you are right, I'm limited to use old machines or machines that don't use Neutral
