Rise Up Children’s Choir is grateful to S. Jonathan Marley and his family who are members of the Ga Tribe in Ghana, Africa. In addition to appearing in this video, Mr. Marley and his daughters served as cultural consultants and provided the beautiful African dresses worn by the soloists which were hand-made by the Ga women of their tribe. Mr. Marley is currently working with Deblessing Foundation (www.deblessing.com) - a community action organization that supports initiatives that promote education, health and entrepreneurship - to build a public library for children in the town of Labadi in Ghana. To support this effort please donate to www.gofundme.c....
Thanks as well to the Candice and Jason Mortensen who served as consultants, and whose beautiful children, Lincoln and Grace, are members of Rise Up Children’s Choir. Largely the inspiration for this music video, Lincoln, Grace, and their sister Naomi, who also appears in this video, were adopted from Uganda. Jason is the co-founder of Hands for an African Child a non-profit organization that is founded to provide parentless African children with God-centered homes, and prepare them to lead a new educated and self-reliant generation. The organization also implements practical, sustainable solutions and technology to provide clean/safe food and water. Rise Up Children’s Choir is also proud to support and partner with Project Have Hope, a non-profit organization that seeks to empower women in Uganda, Africa, by providing education to both the women and their children, and assisting women to establish business opportunities to promote economic stability and sustainability. All of the necklaces worn by the children in this video were hand-crafted by women in the Acholi Quarter of Uganda. It is our hope that by wearing these beautiful pieces of jewelry, we can bring awareness to the women of Uganda and Project Have Hope. The choir is also sponsoring the education of two children in Uganda through their sale of the necklaces worn in this music video.
