Minute 118 shows serious cracks in the sole indicating old sole and possibly thrush left behind, which typically happens when the bars terminate too far forward, the sensitive sole and insensitive sole are completely different and serve 2 completely different purposes no insensitive tissue should be judged by the sensitive tissue, insensitive tissue is a biproduct of sensitive tissue, the bars should terminate in the collateral sulcus of the frog and not the apex, because the bars are the external support structure of the heel. In minute 118.11 we see a severe underrun of the heels causing stress on the tubules of the hoof, this can, and usually result in stress and cracking of the heel.

Why not just trim the toe with you’re nippers into the quarters then rasp past that? You really didn’t take off any toe on that foot, slight a bit but not enough to remove the markers you set out… also did you get a x ray or radiograph to determine how much sole you are actually able to take?

Hi, Linda~~the very first thing you did (measure the center of the hoof at the toe) gave you a measurement, but I'm not sure how that let you know how much foot you have to work with? What are the parameters, please? Thank you! Just need a little more explanation on what you did there~~

How many dissections did you do in order to come up with your measurement guidelines? You said you've measured "feet" so I"m curious how many you found you did within these guidelines? Were any of the feet you examined outside of measurements you were finding to be "normal"?

I'm watching your video in this now. This summer I got a Swedish warmblooded mare and a Nordic fjord. The mare has been barefoot for some years but not the old fjord. My farrier says "never ever touch the sole or the frog!!" But the fjords frogs has started to grow up on the balls, over the hindsupports and moving over the hoof on the sides wich causes cracks and bleedings on the upper back of his hoovs. So now my question, do you run some kind of businness around your knowledge? If that's the case, can I contact you in some other way, by email for example?
Much thanks in advance! And in any case, thank you for a great video.
    Best regards/Johanna

I'd suggest watch another one of her videos (ill look for the link please reply to my message to remind me 😅) there she explains that the inner hoof gets compressed into the shape of outside horn of the hoof. It's like chinese footbinding really, due to the overal hoof being distorted like with underrun heels (theres many more factors to take into account because the fopt works as a whole meaning one thing impacts another, but this is I think the main one) the whole foot (including inner foot) will run under and become compressed into the toe. It's like wearing very tall heels for a long time, ull wanna take the pressure of ur toes being compressed off by leaning back on your heels. Ofcourse this relief doesn't last because your heels will become as hurting as ur toes due to the root of the problem (your weight falling onto your toes due to height of the heel and shape being created by said shoe) not being solved. I hope I explained it well but please take it with a grain of salt as I recently started learning too! 😊 goodluck
