Yamato using AA shells on its guns was not really effective, they were actually used to make the pilots shake and hesitate under the stress of the Yamato's gun sounds and the shells flying near them which lowered their chances of hitting Yamato.
I do have a feeling that the British Swordfish bombers would really hate those shells but that’s beside the point.
That's right because the Japanese don't have any more money.
Pretty sure if it was close enough, the stress on the wing created from the air being pushed out of the shells path could've ripped the wing off, I might be wrong

But I scare myself knowing what her survival would imply for the world, an imperial Japan is a rabid wild beast that must be put to rest for if it lived we would all suffer under their reign. But respect must be shown to those fallen in battles long passed from either side. I say this as an American who is highly patriotic of his own country. Take for the example the A-150 class that was never built (more known as the Shikishima in WoWs). That floating madness would've so much oil to run if it were every built.
Also I still don't get why the Japanese Navy thought it would be a good idea to put torpedoes in a battleship/battlecruiser. Examples were the, Tosa-class, Amagi-class, and the Kii-class.

@@quietbutsmilingplayer9034 thats because Japan never made the 6inch guns to be used as dual purpose (take on sea and air targets). Yamato's 18inch main battery had special shells designed for Anti Air capabilities along with her 5 inch guns that are on her port and starboard side.

Although I have one question: Why did the IJN Yamato not use her 6 inch (155mm) secondary guns. If I remember correctly, they were used as Dual Purpose guns, despite their slow ROF, terrible traverse speed and bad elevation. I really enjoy enjoyed the video, please make more!

私が書籍で読んだのは
特攻作戦なので駆逐艦も含めて片道の燃料しか積み込まなかったが、それは忍び無いせめて駆逐艦だけでもと燃料貯蔵タンクの底をすくって帳簿外の燃料を駆逐艦に積み込んだ話は見たことがありますが大和の分を駆逐艦に…という話は見たことないですね
どれが正しいのか正確にはわかりませんが、この話をよく聞くし現実味があるのでそうなのではないかと思っています

I love that the Yamato's 460mm Airburst shells were actually used in a video for once.
Although I must say. The Yamato's story is really tragic. Yet heroic at the same time. It's final mission was suicide. Beach yourself and don't let them kill more of our people. With over 400 aircraft trying to sink her. The Empress of the seas stood no chance. She did far better than any other could have hoped to in the situation. Her final though, of home. If her sacrifice was enough.

弾薬庫が沈んだ瞬間に爆発して、船体が割れている用に表現していますが実際は左にやや傾斜していたので本当は煙突が海面に入った瞬間に蒸発をして大爆発を起こしましたそのためあの大きい煙ができたのです
もし海水で爆発したら煙はでないだろうからね
海水に触れて爆発した後割れた船体は沈んでそこから煙突の爆発と共に数分後に弾薬庫も爆発したよ

If I were to take a geuss, the 18.1 inch would be replaced with missle launchers, the 6 inch would be replaced with 76 mm fast firing guns, the 5 inch would be replaced with SAMs and the other guns would be replaced with CIWS and the small deck on the back would be turned into a helipad

Without aircraft escort Yamato was just a big target, same with 200 A.A cannons
