      What happens if they pick one Of the helping cards

    • @vonadrianflores732
      @vonadrianflores732 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crazyjeff 2002 then you'll know that that's the card they picked.
      Let's say you have the ace through 5 of hearts as helper cards. Through all the procedure of picking and choosing cards, shuffling the cards and picking up the piles, etc., all the cards will be put to random places. Once you spread the five piles, you then ask them which pile their first chosen card is in. Let's say they chose the ace of hearts (a helper card), and they point to the 3rd pile. If the ace of hearts is in that pile, then tell them the ace of hearts is their card, since knowing the ace of hearts is the FIRST helper card (and the 2 of hearts as the 2nd, 3 of hearts as the third, and so on), and it happens to be in the 3rd pile, that assures you that its their card.

    For those of you who want to know the principle as to how the trick works, it has to do with the first time the cards are stacked and dealt out. The spectators square up their cards and stack up the piles in a random order. The cards are then all dealt out into 5 piles. Let's just think about one spectator's cards - let's say, Alex's. If his cards get stacked on top of the rest, then when you deal them out, the bottom card in every pile will be one of Alex's original cards. If Bob's cards are next in the deck, then the second card from the bottom of every new pile will be one of Bob's. As long as the number of piles are equal to the number of cards in each pile, then each person's cards will share the same position in each new pile.
    Therefore, if you know of one card in each person's pile, you can determine what the rest of those person's cards were based on the position number of the first. This trick would also work with a completely shuffled deck as long as the magician memorized the order in which the spectators stacked their cards. It will also work with any number of spectators as long as the magician makes sure that the number of cards in each pile equal to the number of spectators and either memorizes the stacking order for the first time they were stacked (the first pile down will be the 1st card in each new pile, the second pile down will be the 2nd card in each new pile, and so on) or has 1 key card for each spectator

    all five of the spectators' cards were in the same pile.

  • @nd_irish_fan744
    @nd_irish_fan744 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just posting some additional useful information. Hopefully this solves the problem of why the trick didn't work sometimes.
    (1) Trick can be done with other than 5 people. Number of people equals number of cards dealt to each person: 4 people = 4 cards each, 7 people = 7 cards each, etc. Number of "key cards" must also be the same.
    (2) When people first look at pile to choose card, they can mix up the cards before handing them back, but ONLY at this time. They cannot mix them before handing them back the second time.
    (3) You must deal only one card at a time to each person, but the order doesn't matter. Round 1 of the 5 cards must be complete before anyone gets a second card, etc. Think horizontally and not vertically.
    (4) You can use any key cards that you want as long as you can memorize them and their stacked order.

  • @veroverobrian
    @veroverobrian 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    You can put the cards back into the 5 stacks in any order. You don't need to retain the 12345 order. It's a self working trick where the spectator(s) choose the piles to take and put back. I've did it about 4 times on my friends

    • @AMillionCardTricks
      @AMillionCardTricks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok so I might have said something else in the video, but what I usually do is I form the spectators in a line and GIVE THEM the piles down the line so that I can just remember. And then reveal the cards down the line!

    Love this trick, thanks for the reminder of how to do it. I always got about 4 pints in and then would try and do it and end up with 5 annoyed people 😂 you can also put them down in any order, as long as you do one on each pile within each 5 that you deal (to keep the layers)

    I don't know if it already existed but i found a trick pretty similar to the one of the video : 1+spectator : same preparation as the read mind trick, then you look somewhere else and tell the spectator to chose any card from any stack, and shuffle as much as he wants and then put each stack on top of each other then you go to the state where all the cards are faced up and you ask him in which stack is his card and you can tell him in which stack it was at the beggining of the trick

    I've not seen anyone's video who shows an awesome reveal! Just one person at a time being told what their card is? Anticlimactic once the first person is finished being told their card. Having all 5 at once is better. With a little memory work, the cards could be taken up, then pull their cards out and given to them face down then they all flip over at once.

    Because you said you don't know how this trick works, here is how it works:
    Since you took all 5-card-piles to one pile and then dealt the cards again, you spread the poker hand of one person across the new 5 piles.
    So the five cards of person#1 are all on position #1 in each pile. And all cards of person#2 are on position #2. Since we changed the order of the 5-card-piles we have to look up where their hands landed.

  • @ulricclayton3428
    @ulricclayton3428 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my opinion, the weak point in this trick is that you need to have those inital cards on top of the pile, so you can't ask your audience to shuffle the cards. BUT you can actually fix that, and not need no remember those cards at all. All you need to do is remember the order they ask you to stack the five inital piles, and that's gonna be the order the cards are gonna be facing up at the end. For example, if they stack the first pile on top of the fifth, then those two on top of the third, then those three on top of the fourth, then those four on top of the second one, all you'd need to do is remember 1-5-3-4-2. Then you make the five piles again like in the video and put them on top of each other. And when you make the final piles and they tell you in which pile their card is, you only count the series of numbers from top to bottom. So the second person's card will be the last one from top to bottom IN THE PILE THEY INDICATE based on the series 1-5-3-4-2. And so on

    • @johnandronaco6127
      @johnandronaco6127 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the second round I think you have to pick the piles up in order 1-5 for it to work. Am I right?
