I honestly do not know why a brainwashed Arkham Batman did not just pull out literally any of the lantern rings he had in these DLC suits, seeing as they are cannon.
Maybe this is my philosophy with Batman suits, but I personally don’t mind Batman’s suit having a bit of armor plating to it as long as he doesn’t look too bulky. Even though the Arkham City suit is my personal favorite, the Arkham Knight suit is also very high up on my ranking because I feel like the armor plating does flow together pretty well Also, I should say that I do like suits like cold, cold heart costume, but I don’t think the main bat suit should be that armored. He’s not Iron Man after all.
Something else I love about the base Asylum/City suits is how they utilized the “the tactical lines” without cutting through the design. It’s not a completely different colour that slices through a simple design, it’s piping that flows with the suit and sort of creates pseudo-muscle shading with how it frames his anatomy. And what makes them stand out is that they look like they’re made of fabric that’s durable. It looks like it’s still durable and can protect Batman from hits and cuts without just defaulting to full on body armour that happens to resemble Batman (Same goes for Robin’s City suit) It doesn’t need heavy padding or bulky armour, or even lightweight armour, it just needs to look like Batman and look like something that would be useful fighting criminals. And personally, I’ll defend the Arkham Knight Beyond suit on the basis that it’s not meant to be the suit of the future Batman. This looks like the precursor to the Beyond suit we know and love before technology advanced enough to make it possible. This is something. An aging Batman would wear. Extra armour because he’s getting slow and taking too many hits, no cape in favour of a Jetpack because he lacks the mobility and strength required to use in combat as well as fly, and a face mask that is translucent enough to see his mouth while most likely being used to give him a oxygen more efficiently, as well as protecting him from the elements that didn’t faze him when he was younger. This is the Beyond suit made with the technology present during Knight instead of the far future

Unpopular opinion: I actually kind of like the Arkham Knight version of Batman beyond as an alternate take on the suit. Obviously I wish we had a classic Batman beyond suit to go with it just so you could choose your preferred costume, but as an alternate take on the suit I think it’s kind of cool

Maybe a bit of a hot take but I think the Long Halloween Catwoman suit looks insanely goofy. She's supposed to have cat ears, but she just looks like a little gremlin 💀 Also, I can't say I dislike the Arkham Knight Beyond suit. It's heavily-plated and is probably more futuristic than the traditional Beyond. I feel it contrasts very nicely to the Arkham Knight's own suit.
I know this is an old comment, but I’m glad to see I am not the only one who thought the suit would be more fitting to a gremlin based theme, lol! I think they placed the ears too low to the sides of her head. 😅
Although I appreciate the individual faces for the models, I’m perfectly fine with them all having the same face. If it means, I can see my costume of choice in the cut scenes. What can I say? there’s times where I want to Watch the in game cut scenes of Arkham origins with the Adam West suit on. Also, in a weird way, as jarring as that serious Batman’s face is on such a goofy costume… It kind of works for me. yeah, Batman still looks like someone don’t wanna mess with just based on his facial features, and it’s completely how goofy his suit looks
Luckily the AO azbat suit comes with that skin for batman and azrael. But also, there's a more comic accurate one for both with a larger chest. If I ever did a replay through I'd do some damage with the mods for sure
@@Donker_Dank I know lol, I had just done a playthrough recently with the Gotham Knights Suit and Azreal doing everything in the AO Knightfall suit. It looks so sick I don't like the comic one as much, the cell shading is too odd for the story and tbh I like the slimmer design

7:13 my BIGGEST problem with the animated suit is the eyes. Batman's eyes change shape and size a ton in that show, not just with bruce timm/the general show's art style shifting slightly here and there, but in the emoting of the character, so, whatever, it's hard to nail down a single eye template from that perspective, sure. But holy shit his eyes are so fucking big in this game. I'm a lot more a vibes purist than a pixel-for-pixel, match-the-original-design purist, so even if these are the perfect recreation of the animated costume, i don't think they help sell the vibe the show did. The huge eyes, in my opinion, push this skin past 'cartoony' and directly into 'child-friendly cartoony' in a way i can't get over. Always thought they looked more like Spiderman's big friendly eyes than Batman's stark, intimidating eyes.
I don’t know if anyone’s said this yet, but I believe the Dark Knight skin from Origins isn’t supposed to be a Dark Knight MOVIE skin, but just a really shitty reward for doing all of the challenges. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Great video otherwise!

Since we already got a great comic accurate batman beyond suit in arkham city I am actually really happy with what we got in arkham knight. Its a reimagining of the beyond suit that to me looks pretty badass and is something unique to this game.
You're the first person I've seen that has the same opinion on the Animated series suit that I do. It just doesn't seem to fit in the game's atmosphere.
My reaction when you said "feel free to roast me in the comments": eh it's not gonna be that bad right? Animated Series bat suit just barely above Wii U Batman: WHAT?! *Cue that random scene from SpongeBob with the screaming fish* But seriously, great video so far, haven't finished but I just had to get that out of my system. What I appreciate about the BTAS suit is that it'll change Catwoman and Robin's outfit in the story mode to match. Now if it were stylized like the Classic Spider-Man suit in Insomniac's game then it'd be perfect but alas, the tech wasn't quite there yet. I can totally see why it doesn't work for others though.

This may be a hot take, but imo every base costume in Arkham Knight is in the F tier because I think they’re all hard to look at. I always put Batman and the side characters in different suits because of that.

I'm guessing the City Beyond Suit wasn't Cell Shaded because Terry has been in comics, and there are plemty of people, including you and I, who find Cell Shaded suits in a non Cell Shaded environment, interacting with non Cell Shaded characters is a disconnect that takes you out of the story. And I still can't look at New 52 Nightwing without thinking he's one gold visor away from Pheonix Cyclops.
in origins, the “dark knight” suit isnt actually supposed to be the movie suit. It straight up is just meant to be a blackened version of the normal suit. Shame on you for automatically assuming one of batmans main nicknames is just a reference to the movie. Also i love how you dislike over designed suits but still love the new 52 suit. Know I'm a little late on this, but the arkham knight suits are all good except for the anime suit since it doesn't look Batman. And the Adam West suit for me just looks... off, I think it's the body proportions

@@Donker_Dank THE TEXTURE: The New 52 suit never really looked like it was made out of plastic. THE LOGO: You could have at least gotten that right but noooo.... THE COWL: Similar to the Origins suit in Arkham, the shape of the head is ruins a lot of the suit, the eyes are not white, and it doesn't even come close to that cartoon-like cowl full of expression that Greg Capullo made. THE LINES: I can see where they were going but it went too far and didn't work too well. Overdone. THE CROTCH: It's confirmed to be canon to Man lore that Ruce Wayne is packing a massive killer c0ck and they made his crotch look small in this suit. THE PROPORTIONS: My boy got done dirty with those weird looking arms cause the FUCK!TY FCK FUCK is going on here. They should have made him slimmer at least. Them t!tties look weird too. The only thing this suit does right is match the colors used by Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, and the other artists that worked on Batman Eternal and Detective Comics at the time. @Donker_Dank I'm a huge Nightwing fan. I hate the Knight "cowl" to me Nightwing works best with a Domino Mask like Robin. I disagree with you on the suit, however I agree it doesn't match up with the whole point of Nightwing. See I believe that Nightwing in Blüdhaven doesn't need armor, because Blüdhaven isnt as bad as Gotham, but seeing as how they're in Gotham in the middle of a crisis, I understand the Armor.

hey donker I think that Rocksteady should've made the Beyond Suit in Arkham Knight the main skin for the game as it has a lot of details and it could represent a new batman due to his new combat and experience with the flaws of his old suits

The audio was all normal but YT had a copyright issue with it so this was what I could do after posting it. None of my other vids have this issue fortunately and I have a version of this video saved without the music that I may put up in the near future

The anime Batman suit is in my top five in knight for me but it's because I was 15 whenever I absolutely was totally obsessed with Batman and anime sooooooooo combined the two and there you go

I actually really love the arkham knight batman beyond suit. Its a pretty good suit but it does have some flaws. The colors are a bit bland and i think a more reddish color on the eyes are good. The suit is a bit too bulky? Like i dont know why batman is THICC with the batman beyond suit. But over all thats all the problems i have with the arkham knight batman beyond suit (I typed this as a polite way of saying I DISLIKE YOUR OPI OIENISISO2SKKZOXKXKXO)

7:13 my BIGGEST problem with the animated suit is the eyes. Batman's eyes change shape and size a ton in that show, not just with bruce timm/the general show's art style shifting slightly here and there, but in the emoting of the character, so, whatever, it's hard to nail down a single eye template from that perspective, sure.
But holy shit his eyes are so fucking big in this game. I'm a lot more a vibes purist than a pixel-for-pixel, match-the-original-design purist, so even if these are the perfect recreation of the animated costume, i don't think they help sell the vibe the show did. The huge eyes, in my opinion, push this skin past 'cartoony' and directly into 'child-friendly cartoony' in a way i can't get over.
Always thought they looked more like Spiderman's big friendly eyes than Batman's stark, intimidating eyes.

Since we already got a great comic accurate batman beyond suit in arkham city I am actually really happy with what we got in arkham knight. Its a reimagining of the beyond suit that to me looks pretty badass and is something unique to this game.

What I appreciate about the BTAS suit is that it'll change Catwoman and Robin's outfit in the story mode to match. Now if it were stylized like the Classic Spider-Man suit in Insomniac's game then it'd be perfect but alas, the tech wasn't quite there yet. I can totally see why it doesn't work for others though.

I'm guessing the City Beyond Suit wasn't Cell Shaded because Terry has been in comics, and there are plemty of people, including you and I, who find Cell Shaded suits in a non Cell Shaded environment, interacting with non Cell Shaded characters is a disconnect that takes you out of the story.

THE TEXTURE: The New 52 suit never really looked like it was made out of plastic.
THE LOGO: You could have at least gotten that right but noooo....
THE COWL: Similar to the Origins suit in Arkham, the shape of the head is ruins a lot of the suit, the eyes are not white, and it doesn't even come close to that cartoon-like cowl full of expression that Greg Capullo made.
THE LINES: I can see where they were going but it went too far and didn't work too well. Overdone.
THE CROTCH: It's confirmed to be canon to Man lore that Ruce Wayne is packing a massive killer c0ck and they made his crotch look small in this suit.
THE PROPORTIONS: My boy got done dirty with those weird looking arms cause the FUCK!TY FCK FUCK is going on here. They should have made him slimmer at least. Them t!tties look weird too.
The only thing this suit does right is match the colors used by Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, and the other artists that worked on Batman Eternal and Detective Comics at the time.

See I believe that Nightwing in Blüdhaven doesn't need armor, because Blüdhaven isnt as bad as Gotham, but seeing as how they're in Gotham in the middle of a crisis, I understand the Armor.

I actually really love the arkham knight batman beyond suit. Its a pretty good suit but it does have some flaws.
The colors are a bit bland and i think a more reddish color on the eyes are good.
The suit is a bit too bulky? Like i dont know why batman is THICC with the batman beyond suit.
But over all thats all the problems i have with the arkham knight batman beyond suit
