I think it is his best song yet. Because it sounds like he is getting more comfortable in singing and wants to express himself more instead of keeping it to himself. Also Coming from me who is dealing with Depression and Anxiety there have been times where I have felt like giving up and not wanting to do anything. And I love the message Dream is sharing saying hey it's ok to be different yes you will struggle but if you keep trying your best you will get there eventually.

I was at the premiere! Man I've loved Alec for years and just...aahh that was good. That change in Dreams voice was so dramatic I was surprised. Plus the lyrics hit super hard.
I Have similar conditions. It's definitely ADHD related! I hate picking clothing out, I can't remember things told to me 13 seconds earlier half the time. But I do have a huge amount of imagination.

I don't have ADHD but the lyrics hit me back when my depression wasn't controlled. My struggles were very similar. I was in the premiere, and omg, I was speechless when the first chorus started and my brain clicked that before it was DREAM singing, without many effects applied. I was freaking out with a couple of friends and on Twitter lol.
Damn, if this song doesn't play a lot on radios around the world, something would be very wrong.

This was literally such an Alec Benjamin song to the point where if you heard this song for the first time and were told it was by Dream and Alec Benjamin you would assume Dream is the feature. Dream definitely did most the writing you can totally tell it's his writing style
But it's kinda like if you have listened him before or not
I think that he did the verses, but the actual chorus itself was written by Alec a bit ago!!
chorus was written by alec benjamin months ago, you can find a demo on yt from around seven months ago, verses were very clearly written by dream
@@diedie6128 Even still the verses are delivered in such an Alec Benjamin style and cadence. That's interesting though I wonder if Dream had anything to do with the writing of the chorus and who wrote what. I think the original song idea was Dream's idea.
@@echanwhitcomb502 honestly i think alec had planned to release a song similar to this and then dream hopped on the bandwagon and wrote the verses and maybe made some changes to the chorus.
I really enjoyed it and it's already insane haha! About 15 mins after release, Alec and Dream had been the cover of teen beats on Spotify, and about 23 mins after, it got on the radio! It's gonna be on loop for me :)

I'm not a fan of Dream's music (Roadtrip is hella catchy though) but he sounded great here! This calmer style fits his voice much better, and the lyrics are an improvement over his previous two songs. He's improving a lot :]

I still say besides practice and experience, the reason Dream sounds so good here is that he's accepted his singing voice is naturally high-pitched, and he's working with it instead of fighting it.

he's been one of, if not my favorite, artists for around four years now and I just love this new collab.
I've become a pretty big fan of dreams this past year so this collab is like everything I could've wanted.
and dreams voice sounds so amazing with this style- i love that alec was able to bring this side of his voice out more and make such a banger doing it. alec is so talented and I love getting to hear more of dream

I feel like this song could also go with the hand-in-hand relationship between depression and anxiety. Since I struggle with both of those, my anxiety as a new adult is telling me to do things like get a job and get my license. But my depression makes it so much harder where I do stay in bed all day and do nothing. I know I should do these things and my anxiety is screaming at me to do them but my depression is saying that it’s all futile it’s all pointless.

it's pretty well known that dream wrote the verses and alec wrote the chorus! dream may have had some influence on the chorus too, but the versus were his contribution for sure.
This is for sure Dream's best song yet!

This was my favourite song of 2021 and I’m a 54-year old Canadian mom. This song hit me on so many levels. As a musician, his vocals were so much better here, the music is ethereal but the vocals were raw. I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly in 2019 and both my now 12 year old and I have been through the grief and depression, big time. The lyrics really moved me. It’s okay to fail, it’s okay not to be okay. Just start with baby steps and move forward. Your reaction was spot on and also hit me in a good way. Thank you for covering this!

I really look down upon pop music as someone who studies music not bc there is something wrong with genre but bc most of the time the people making it don't care at all but it feels like dream does and that is why I like how dream is trying it is not perfect but it has heart.
It's because unfortunately they tell you it's background music so much of the time. So you're not supposed to write these wildly intense lyrics because people aren't paying attention to begin with. It's kinda a mess
This song certainly applies to the ADD/ADHD world, but I think it expands farther. The coronavirus shutdown was something that really stole my motivation. Procrastinating got a lot worse for me. I love it when I find music/literature that has a message relevant to my life right now. I'm certainly biased, but I really like this song, and it's certainly the best so far.

I have always been indesicive when it came to choosing which song is my favorite, but i can say that this one is the best one by far. It is just so calm and it just feels nostalgic, it has like that 2012 vibe to it and that makes it comfortable to vibe with.

Im just laying in my bed at almost 4 am and crying meanwhile listening to this song. I couldn't relate to these lyrics more than I already do, and even though I have a suspicion that I might have ADHD, depression and anxiety its impossible for me to get that checked professionally. Anyway, I love this song. It just brings me a lot of comfort.

Ever since I heard the song I was able to relate the struggles even s a person without any disorders since almost all of us while we grow up we will have the same struggles as everyone in the world. When I listen to this it really changed me and made me want to take all the opportunities I was given and to get out of my comfort zone a little bit more. when you analyze the lyrics it's somethings that you will want to keep in mind

I’ve loved Alec Benjamin as a singer for years and following him and dreams collab has been insane- I love it, definitely my favorite so far.
I also totally understand what they’re saying here. It’s really a song about those daily struggles with mental health. ADHD definitely but as someone with all three also applies to depression and anxiety in different ways. Also the vocals are so calming.

@×Trixzawasgone× of course it has. What i got from it is that “changing my clothes” is a metaphor for changing myself for the batter. Half the fun with art is that you can interpret it however you want.

I don’t have ADHD but I have Bipolar despite it being quite different Dream’s songs for a lot of both. There’s many people I see in the comments of this that say they have ADHD and how relatable it is. It relates to my Bipolar too but in a different way I feel. It’s not that there’s so much to do, it’s not being able to find the reason to take that first step to do anything. You can have millions of things to do and be able to do it but not be able to find the will to until suddenly you can do everything but what you NEED to do and then within a week you go back to wanting to do everything but not doing anything. It’s frustrating.
Edit: I don’t have much experience with the manic side of my bipolar because i focus more on my depressive side since it’s the part about bipolar I struggle with the most.
