Hey Chaps! What mobile games are you playing??
Note: the 1st 3DMark test compared the Exynos S21U. The 2nd test (graphs) is with SD888 S21U. I tested both to show with either chop, ROG 5 outperforms them.

Not a mobile gamer, as text often appears far too small on those small displays. I do enjoy good hardware, though. I also enjoy good software support, and from what I've heard (from other reviewers, sadly), is that ROG Phones tend to get 1 software update... that IS NOT acceptable for a modern smartphone at that price range. 3 years minimum of full support, even better if they do Apples 5/6 years of support.

I don't get the appeal of a gaming phone. Just buy a switch. You get infinitely better games instead of trash microtransaction filled garbage mobile games.

@@coolperson4283 I bought the ROG phone 3 last year and I don't play games at all but, trust me, this phone is a beast. I always charge my phone only at 80% to save my battery lifespan and it lasted me one day of full use from maps, music (speakers and Bluetooth), watching Netflix, video editing, taking pictures and videos. my screen on time is around 6 hours and I set my screen at 90hz. of course, there is a drawback, it is heavy and big.

just like last year,if you could find a working gcam, the camera quality would improve and you may make a video with "stock vs gcam" ; unfortunately asus is bumping up the price each generation and unlike the 1st/2nd one which was around 500$,and affordable to many, these new models costs like a flagship, although i know that latest hardwares costs more than regular or older specs and by pushing boundaries, you are spending more to achieve that but it would've been nice to see asus rog lite version with 400-500$ and specs that could've over-perform/match last gen rog phone in specs but with newer soc.

All I can say is this phone is ahead of its time not that gaming phones are a bad thing its just that the mobile gaming community is still in its infancy and so there are not much games that can take advantage of the phones power and not enough triple aaa games unlike pc and console even a midrange phone can run games smoothly enough and flagship from 3 years ago will run current mobile games at highest settings with ease unlike pc games in which within 3 or more years games get more graphically intensive I use a Samsung a 90 5g on SD 855 and it would run any current game at highest settings with no issue apart from the 60 hz refresh rate which is okay for someone that hasn't experienced a higher refresh rate overall the phone blew me away after just watching a video of mrwhosetheboss its a brilliant phone that will take on anything you throw at it but there not just enough game that will bring out the full potential of this beast so a gaming phone currently is almost not necessary
    That's my verdict

09:00 You just showed the S21 having an Exynos, which is the chip it has everywhere else in the world but the US, and a second later you say you tested the S21 with a Snapdragon 888. Huge difference between the two. So what is it? Either way, even if the S21 really had an 888, the Asus phone has a better performance for longer sessions. I appreciate them improving the camera, too. I don't need the highest end camera, but the fact that it's now acceptable, somewhat "good" quality, love it. About to order the RoG 5 tomorrow actually.

My office in Malaysia has floors 3A and 13A, no 4 anywhere. I still have a ROG 2 phone and it’s still ok, I can’t afford this phone it’s like 4K in Malaysia, maybe by the time 6 comes out I can get that. It’s the best gaming phone on the market, with Red Magic close second.

I've got the S21 Ultra (Exynos) as my primary and the OnePlus 7T as me secondary device. For swapping out the OP7T, would you recommend Mi11, OP 9Pro or the ROG Phone 5? I play CoD on it a lot, combines with emails, messengers and zoom calls. Cameras are a non factor for me, but that lack of IP Rating seems like it could cause long term durability issues for me. What's your take? I'm just focused on an overall great performing device, with cameras not being a major factor on the phone.

Who do you recommend to use as a carrier I have a 16 gb ram 256 global version and straight talk won't let me use it on them at all and at and t on it I found out has horrible coverage with it . Even tho people I work with have at and t prepaid and contract and get service with their phones I use rog phone 5 on at and t prepaid and get no service at work when they do . So what carrier do you recommend trying ? And mines just the regular rog 5 not s or ultimate or pro .

Ok I only got one question you got no screen issue right like everything works super fine 100% cuz I'm more of a heavy gamer on mobile and a heavy on watching movies camera I really don't care much but the speed and graphics and hz display is what I'm more concerned about so is it really 100% good or bad or the very best

I actually like 8k videos. Hehehe. I usually use the 8k 24 of my s20+ for dramatic videos. For anything else, 4k 60 is the best. Anyways, rog 5 is tempting that I want to buy it. Just hate losing the telephoto for a macro that I don't like

Every phone ISN'T a gaming phone if you in the esports category as it's bigger than pc gaming now, even a budget phone can handle call of duty quiet comfortably but a game like high ranked or competitive pubg mobile or fortnite is where phone shows it's real power and only iphone can handle competitive side of these games as of right now but not sure about rog 5
