*clicks around with the mouse like an insurance adjustor calculating fees... you tubers ain't no actual mixing engineers, but this is actually done correctly.
i was able to make a massive synth sound layering and processing with brainworx plugins. m/s processing opens up so much more on other plugin chains too.
*Great tutorial Pete* I just got this and was a little like hum.. But you explained it very well. Can you comment on the X-Y-II feature a bit again thanks.
Thanks Time Marches On! So the Directivity feature (the XYII) is a control knob for the two separate mono reverberation units. Bx Rooms is a stereo reverb, yes... But it contains these 2 separate mono reverb signals which make it stereo... As a result it can be used to feed different signals to the left and right output of the plugin. Thats what this knob controls. If you want a consistent stereo reverb for parts of the stereo input signal that are not at the center of the the panorama, you can use “Directivity” to adjust the how much of each input is fed into each channel. If the knob is at 0% (middle position) you are feeding both mono reverb units. (like mono to stereo or stereo to stereo). If the knob is at 100% Left you are feeding L to the Right reverb unit. If the knob is at 100% Right you are feeding R to the Right reverb unit. -100% is reverse reverb, 0% is SUM, and +100% is TRUE. Turning this knob to different positions will make the reverb sound different. Hope this helps! :-)
Hard to give a precise CPU hit number... Im running a machine w 32GB of RAM and I could literally slap an instance of Bx_rooMS on a mix, no prob. I'd say its similar to Valhalla (I LOVE LOVE LOVE Vintage Verb) and Altiverb but the thing that really blows me away about it is the Room and Ambience settings. Because of this, it HAS become a staple in my workflow now. Its prob one of the best sounding ROOM verbs ive ever heard. Its real close to dethroning my UAD Ocean Way and that says a lot. The best way i can explain the brilliance of this is its essentially like being able to plop any sound source in the middle of a room, dial it in, but also be able to SHAPE THE ROOM AROUND the sound source in some pretty different ways. Def recommend downloading a demo and giving it a go. Let me know how you like it! :-)
Mix Better Now Oh... In studio one it gives you a precise number every plugin instance is using kind of like when you open task manager and look at your processes (if you are on windows) and great insight! I always wanted a reverb that would just allow you to quickly design spaces without a hassle and the set up is soooooo easy all in one page makes you wonder why all out reverbs have so many tabs and control and yet this seems like it can do it all. the only other thing similar to this is the sonnox verb and I guess the pheonix verb but I never could get along with the sonnox because it has no predelay and the pheonix sounds to clean.... I guess we have to give out props to bx on this one 😊👌
Yes! I think Dirk and the boys did a great job on this. Don't get me wrong... Im a HUGE fan of the Sonnox verb as well, but for Room sounds this is the jam. I was using Ocean Way a lot as well but I've just never been thrilled with the texture of Ocean Way. It can be a bit dark sounding. Def give this a demo at the very least... Think you'll like it :)
Best demo/tutorial of this reverb so far; thanks - I bought it!

pretty late to the party, but your office reverb preset, with adjusted pre delay makes a SICK subtle drum room. Thanks a ton, sir!
u can 'fix mix' ANY parameter on any plugin in ableton already. good to have it added i guess though.

So much for my plans to buy some other gear next! LOL Great demo/review/tut! Thanks. I don't see how I can pass this one up!
Life's full of tough choices, right, Michael??!! HAHA! :-)

Thank you well explained.
Thanks!
i cant do reaper recognize that plugin,

CPU Hit?
Comparison to Vallhalla and Altiverb?
Is it going to be a Staple in you workflow now ?

For me, this brought the Ocean Way plug into my life/studio, much sooner/cheaper! It leaves me with another $250 for other expansions!
I don't follow... are you saying you bought UAD Ocean Way and are using it?
