Really good video, Wilson. Just about every time I thought of something I wanted to add in the comments, you mentioned it later. It is pretty T sided and puggy, but I’m an aggressive player so I’m into it. Despite it being really puggy tho, it’s not brainless. The T’s just set the pace for the entire half. Similarly to how T’s that have shown they like to go B on Dust 2 force the CT’s hand (you need 3-1-1 because 2 isn’t enough to hold long), putting them into a 2-1-2 which then makes long takes easier… showing the CT’s that you’re willing to go B on new Train reduces their outer players which makes the already favorable A site easier. Hope that makes sense. If anyone is struggling and wants to find impact on T side, you should run out t-conn (the only place on the map the T’s have favorable timing) and look for fights early. For impact on CT side, play to counter the t-conn run out you’ll be doing on T side. Cheers.
Thank you riker! That makes total sense, and I agree with you. I think if you can bully the B player then the whole map opens up. It’ll be really interesting to see how the early round meta develops towards A. The timing feel really odd from the CT perspective.
Excellent as always, you have such a deep level of carefulness when it comes to create content, you're always ensuring to share your knowledge in such a didactic way. Congrats for that.
@@WilsonCS2 I was waiting for a 3kliks video for the timings, then i found your Guide. If i can suggest something: show the timings from start of the round like in the first clip. I think it can help knowing that first contact in Ivy ist at 1:XX.
i took notes on every single thing you just explained thank you very much it would be awesome to see all all map guides like this all other channels just talk about how to throw smokes i have watched a lot of tutorials but only you talked about the mentality and the way a player should think during the game also the timing explanation was unique i appreciate your hard work and dedication 🙏🙏🙏
Awesome video covering a lot of different aspects of the map. Thanks again Wilson!! I had nerded out a little bit already myself, but this adds a lot to my util/tactical arsenal for the new train.
Sick video Wilson! As someone who only started playing CSGO after Train had been removed from the competitive pool, this guide makes it easier for me to approach this reworked version of Train. Also, looking forward to the next stream!
Finally a good video showing me how to play Train. I don’t watch streams and try to take most my strays from pro-play, but they’ve ofcourse not played it yet. This video helps me out a lot in my mindset while playing Train.
4:32 - right where you're aiming, on red train. I've been struggling to get a smoke to land on top of the corner for the T's (and have it land quick enough), to have the volumetric effect to spill down, to block off this sight line to gap. Sort of like the sandwich smoke, just possibly a bit more useful. This would be better than just a smoke landing in gap or sandwich in case of a two-man tower for instance. The train feels almost too rounded, but if it lands quick enough it would force CTs out of gap and then they would really be desperate for info and would have to be out in the open more on A or play more passive. As for CT side, playing A retake from Z, it seems impossible now--at least for me, because the train feels a bit closer and also you feel more exposed. If that scenario happens its usually just the B anchor trying to go for the defuse at A, so those feel like automatic saves.
I love how playing this map on 1.6 was useful in some ways, although it's mostly for the T side where I seem to be doing most things right. As a fun fact, I was very confused about how to rotate from B to A on my first matches, ladder not found error, and I got surprised by pop pushes more than I'd like to admit. My brain just wouldn't update that part of the map. I feel like CT side is harder for most people, most randos don't seem to understand the importance of holding both A main and Ivy, so I'm stuck as Ivy player most of the time. I'll say this video helps with positioning, as my inner player calls me to rush the hell out of everything on this map.
I think what they did the pop should be changed by having a drop down like cbble had you can climb up or drop down I think this would be great like instead of two ramps down have one steeper drop with a bunch of boxes maybe but have the ledge still there so that you could peek pop without committing or include a head glitch angle from a side pop entrance to defend pop with site control
Smokes are "concealment" not cover, still important. Cover makes sure you won't get shot, concealment means they can't really see you but can still definitely shoot you
Yes! Sorry, that was confusing. In the example at the beginning of the video, I showed the worst CT spawn vs. the Best T spawn for ivy. In that case, the T beat the CT to ivy entrance. However, this was to illustrate that regardless of spawns, CTs will always be able to hold ivy before T’s can be at the entrance. The best CT spawn will have way more favorable timings, so it’s a play you should only go for (in general) with the best CT spawn for it.
I really wonder about CTs playing to deny Ts the ability to even get into 'ladder'. Since it's technically not a safe entry anymore. But playing 1 passive B can't really do that.
How to play Train : Just demolish everyone like Wilson

Loving new Train, here's to hoping we'll see Vertigo and Dust gone from the pool in favor of Train and my fav Overpass
Me too!!!! I’d be so happy with either dust or mirage being replaced by overpass as well
@WilsonCS2 I'd like to see Mirage stay just bc I find it fun to solo-q and just run out mid each round and frag out

@@riker8214lets be honest even the best version of cobblestone should never be added to the map pool unless there is a big rework

2:00 awesome feature, but a bit too fast. Maybe show the Sport on the map first and then freeze the contact for a second
Thanks for the feedback! It does feel a bit too fast now that I watch it back
Sick guide. Making my friends watch this before they go to bed at night
I’ll expect a 2000 word essay on the future of train’s meta from each of them
This is the vid we need! Nade linups are easy. Understanding the map is much more kmportant!
Good to see Wilson hop on the Train train!!!!
Let me go *train* on this map after I watch this video 🤣🚂

answer: point and click.
no awkward angles so everything comes down to point n click.
You have the same Butterfly/Glove combo as me :D
Butterfly freehand so underrated imo.
