Jeez that thing is beautiful! I have always wondered why there are so few RC Douglas Dauntless models. I guess people just want fighters. There is a real one that flies over where I live, I think the owner charges $400USD for a couple hour ride. Beautiful planes!

I would pay that no problem for a couple hour ride in a Dauntless :)
0311TYPE ...first model plane I built was the Dauntless. Dad was in one, but flew the black gliders during combat.

Great looking SBD. You did a fantastic job in weathering the aircraft. Can I ask why you went with a fixed landing gear arrangement??? I was hoping to see a wheels up flight but was stunned to see that the landing gear was fixed upon landing. Also, any plans to replace the 2 blade prop with a 3 blade??? Again, wonderful aircraft, she's gorgeous and you have done an excellent job in constructing and flying it...nice approach and touchdown at the end by the way.!!! Well done.
Thank you for the comment. The landing gear was out of service at that time. 2-blade propeller was the choice for smooth engine operation.

It would be 1000 times cooler with FPV/ UAV. The wheels need to go up also.
