the Kalu'ak fishing pole gives water breathing. tbh i forgot i had it equipped on my fishing page, hopped into the underwater delve and it worked like a charm. but indeed, strategic pulls, CC, interrupts and defensive cooldowns on rotation will usually see you through. although you've got to be situationally aware and not stand in the 1 shot abilities, of which there are many and some are hard to see. class/spec also makes a big difference as have had a much easier time running T8 delves on my ret paladin than i ever have on my arms warrior, to the point where my pala has now out-geared my warrior, even though i have twice as much max level playtime on my warrior compared to my pala. stepped straight into T6 delves on my paladin in greens, whereas i had to build up through earlier tiers of delves on my warrior to get into T8. self heals, potions and Branns food buff all add towards success. i play pretty much exclusively delves, haven't stepped foot in a heroic dungeon, M+ or raid, other than the 1 time i tried out LFR on my warrior and joined on the last boss of the wing. have only run follower dungeons to complete quests so far, but once i've got a full set of gear, likely to branch out a bit. but for now, thoroughly enjoying delves - just got my 2 piece set bonus and it's making a huge difference, whilst i could self heal and avoid standing in fire, it was taking ages to kill anything, but now my gear is around 590, mobs are starting to go down a bit quicker. by the time people are in 610+ gear, they should be absolutely smashing through T8 delves. honestly, i like this new progression path. i've been out of the game for about 5 years (i have a 5 year old) and haven't raided since legion, came back about 2 weeks before TWW pre-patch and just dont have time to do anything more involved. only have a couple of hours from 10pm onwards 4 nights a week to play, so organised raids and heroic dungeons are basically a no go for me these days, so feel like delves were targeted at people like me, who still love the game, have played since TBC launch, but just dont have the time or level of commitment i used to (used to be a raid + guild leader), but still perfectly capable of challenging content and i'm sure there are plenty of others that fit that situation.
Sad part is the rep isn't Warbound... >.< I have exalted on a few toons but not on all. >.< Crafting Draenor water breathing pots is a good alternative.
Would love more delve guides for specific classes. The stuff you’ve covered so far has already helped us out (me and my husband) tremendously. We are pretty bad players because we’ve always kept it relatively casual. The delves are excellent practice for us and we’re loving it.
I'll add some tips regarding healer brann that helped me use it a lot better: *the healing potion gives you a small heal, coupled with about 10 seconds of a heal-over-time THAT STACKS UP TO FOUR.* So the best way to use the potions is to stagger them out and keep that powerful heal-over-time at multiple stacks. This is easiest with the "drinking a potion can proc another potion" ability. If you're like me and were still using level 1 curios, *it seems like every 2 delve levels gives curios of another tier.* So tier 7-8 delves will be needed to get a tier 4 curio, but a 5-6 delve (significantly easier!) will still get you tier 3 curios for a powerful upgrade. (great use for alts, as them doing bountiful delves also means shared Brann leveling progress too!)
A combo that's bread and butter to classic-tbc players but probably foreign to newer ones is *combining the crowd control with the line of sight.* You don't have to worry about Brann breaking your CC's if you pull the others away from the CC'd one, so you CC one, then pull the rest close to you with line of sight. This is particularly good for classes like rogues whose CC's can't all be used mid-combat.
A little late, but if you can get ahold of "The Mad Queen's Mandate" trinket...even from Raid Finder...hang on to it. It does 3 million damage (maxed out Raid Finder) and a small heal...But the Egg Cocoons in Zekvir's Lair only have 5 million health. And the CD for the trinket goes from 2 minutes down to 1 if it kills the mob. I've started referring to it as the egg beater trinket.
Hey dude I've capped at t8s just simply bc I chase the rewards not the challenge necessarily. Just wanted to say this was a great video for newer players, didnt really need a ton of help just watched it see what you'd say and it was solid :3
I really loved watching all the tips and how to do the delves. It has helped me out a lot. Thank you for showing us how to drop the candle. Please show us more !. I enjoyed it. : )
dropping the candle helped so much, even as a warrior, not that I had much problem with that delve. Just made it less worrisome. I've also made quiet a bit of gold making old water breathing potions.
Yeah that was a great gold boost, I had 6 alts all maxed out on the warlords currency (dont remember the name now) and bought mats from the vendor at the trading post, 500 potions sold for 150 gold each lol
I'm sure others have mentioned this - the Kalu'ak fishing rod from LK allows under water breathing. Place it in the fishing profession gear slot. No need to worry about bubbles or breathing elixirs.
Taunts work great from pets, if you're on your hunter/ lock. And I usually clear the entire dungeon before actually doing the requirements of the delve. That way, the delve is cleared of mobs that would otherwise be around when you're required to "save" npc's or collect items.
My rogue still has Leatherworking from BFA so I've been making the diving helmet and suits to use in the water delves. I stocked up on mats cheap at the end of that expansion so I didn't even need to buy any.
Warlocks can take a talent that makes the mob stand still instead of running around while feared. Also fear is the only interrupt apart from a stun with cd that warlocks can use because the "kick" silence/interrupt is tied to a specific pet (felhunter) and when solo most warlocks want to use voiswalker because they don't wanna face tank the mobs themselves.
I’m using Howl of Terror a lot as an aoe stop and cc. It works great and has a reduced cd and increased radius with a Diabolist hero talent. I still then have fear and shadowfury as back up.
@@mirandelf Y that's good use of warlock utility right there. Just gotta be careful where one howls so that you don't end up pulling more mobs because you can't talent howl to not make mobs run to random directions like you can fear.
@@SplitpersonalityGaming well there's also Affliction and Destro and they don't have Felguard. Howl isn't baseline also but ofc one can talent into it just like the "stand still" fear
I'm really liking delves on my Demon Hunter. I'm consistently doing level 8's on her and not really having a problem. I've even gotten all of the level 8 achievements bagged. The casters haven't progressed as far but they also have lower iLevels. You basically have to get the rhythm of when to cast and when to move.
Note on minor misinfo on noggenfogger elixir: Not AH-able, but still sold in Tanaris just a portal to the Caverns of Time in your capital city away. *Unlike in vanilla, no quest requirements whatsoever to access the vendor.* Still 35 silver for 5. Goblins may have a reputation for greed but this one has never raised his prices! And it now stacks to 200! *I believe the slowfall effect on it is still a thing,* I'll have to see if that allows for some clever trash skips in the more vertical delves.
I was wondering what those curios were for. Not sure if I can change out Bran as he is my healer. That monkey curio drives me nuts...but as you pointed out, it is fun
I had a lot of success solo leveling a monk, but they have like 287 buttons. So the cc and utility stuff got bumped because i never used them. Maybe that's why i suck at delves lol
Can confirm on my monk using the whole kit they are one of the best delve classes I've tried. Make sure you've got that instant cast vivify talent. That is mighty powerful for enduring the bosses.
Brann: Those webs summon nerubians, don't stand in 'em! Me: Pff, this game is handholding me too much. I'm not an idiot. * is standing in the webs, the nerubians hit like tanks * Brann: _I warned ye, champion!_ Good call teaching things like remembering we can swap talents mid run and pick ones that might not be in the icyveins "best talent" guides for specific solo-applicable utility, and just remembering especially for dps or tanks used to facerolling that we can control a lot of difficulty with proper pulling. Just today I was doing a delve and realized i could use Ring of Peace to push enemies apart from each other then CC one with paralysis on my monk so that it wouldn't be nearly as much of a risk to be hit with aoe attacks. On my rogue I had practically forgotten Tricks of the Trade existed, but in delves it's absolutely a hard requirement to use or you'll be flattened!
I would do mythics if i could find a guild that actually did them regularly and didnt just claim it in their recruitment message. Or even i could get in some pugs. But its damn near impossible to do either. I had purple logs in dragonflight, but havent been able to even get in any in war within.
