yes he is, but he's beatable. Most of the time, he uses the same 3 moves/combostrings, so after 2 hours, I could block/counter most of his stuff and managed it without cheesing it. And I haven't played Tekken since 3
This fight is really challenging, but you can use the ground laser for a really favorable trade with the 3 fireballs. Also you can duck the focus attack and punish it. Finally Akuma's mid into overhead string is launch punishable. The only true mix up situation the Akuma AI has is after you block a dive kick, in which case god help you.
I find it pretty remarkable that Phil, after playing Tekken since what he claims to be its inception, can't display even basic combos in this fight. Like Jesus Christ, he just jabs and spams laser. Devil Kazuya is an overpowered character, I should know I main Kazuya and making Devil an accessible transformation since Tag 2 made Kazuya more deadly. Also it should be noted that in order to be Devil Kazuya you have to give up the rage art to transform. Here Phil has him from the start, meaning that he is starting out as a rage transformed character without having to waste his rage art. I am not saying Devil Kazuya would make the fight one sided, but Phil is basically gifted a powerful character to fight Akuma. Now you can make the argument that Phil has no idea how to use Kazuya at all and it clearly shows, but then that just begs the question "why didn't he practice?" I use to suck with Kazuya too and now he is one of my mains. All Phil does is blame the game like he always does and decides to cheese the fight with the air laser attack.

I think Phil did good there. He managed to beat Akuma without Story Assist's help and did Kazuya's Rage Art command, during the critical finishing moment, without the R1 shortcut button.
He has a moveslist that covers 100 different combinations and throws. DSP just didn't care to put in any effort. If you ever see him play Paul. He doesn't use any combos but one that he spams over and over.

All you have to do is get close to him, 3+4,3+4 and WHAM, 1+2 a fuck load of times and it's gg... It's cheap as fuck, but effective :D

This isn't even the hardest difficulty. DSP wouldnt be able to laser cheese, and Akuma destroys you in 1 combo. Lol
The instant kill raging demon is pretty crazy to be fair.
I think Phil did good there. He managed to beat Akuma without Story Assist's help and did Kazuya's Rage Art command, during the critical finishing moment, without the R1 shortcut button.
Akuma may be a cheap son of a bitch, but the health bars looks like candy.

So, I've never played Tekken before... does this Devil guy not have any combos at all?
He has a moveslist that covers 100 different combinations and throws. DSP just didn't care to put in any effort. If you ever see him play Paul. He doesn't use any combos but one that he spams over and over.
I have seen that.... "BRRRRAAAAAAGGGH!!!!" Punch spam.
Never pass judgement on any video game based on DSP's playthroughs because not only does he suck at fighting games, he sucks at every other game too.
Well aware Doom, I asked solely because this was beyond my realm of knowledge and figure "Maaaaaaaaaybe the devil guy doesn't actually have combos, but just some crazy damage thing that DSP doesn't know about."
Also let's not forget, this is the same guy who says Alisa and Lili "dont play like Tekken characters" because he's too stupid to adapt and figure out how to defend against those characters. He prefers his precious Street Fighter II and Tekken 3. I have never had any issues playing against Lili or Alisa players online ever since both characters were introduced to the franchise. DSP's problem is that he's too stupid to adapt to certain situations and another player's play style. He just assumes that in every fighting game, every single player is going to play like his scrub ass because he thinks he's the god of gaming. I seriously think he has some voices talking to him in his head.
Sonic Generations is *literally* the easiest Sonic game Sega ever mode, what does this scrub do? Sucked at it too and blamed the game for his own dumbassness. And what's even worse, the idiot actually uploaded the footage to TH-cam for the world to see.
