So seemingly humble and understated.I am referring to the urbane gentleman. Yet...........this bold house speaks loudly of a powerful personality behind it.
Living with art is transformational! It truly is a spiritual, healing process that one relishes in daily and frankly cannot live without. I understand this fully and thoroughly enjoyed his presentation.

ive found the best way to collect, is to by for the heart as well as the eye. If it cost £5 OR £5 MILLION , buy ti because you love it and want to live with it .
Truly stunning. I felt as though I was in one of my philosophy books and reading the sentences over and over and over... to make sure I absorbed as much meaning as possible... of course also made mental notes. What a brilliant artist.
Brilliant Philosophy.....not what but how, art should be embraced and resonate with surroundings, and other pieces. In my mind....the cladding of ones soul.............
I’ve often told my wife - whether it be antiques or garments - the outfit of the day…I genuinely since a young age wanted to do it for pure joy and not to signal or court attention. It’s true joy - that’s it. Authentic and real.
Fact is art like decor and fashion are very subjective, "to each his own", it shouldn't matter if others are unable to appreciate the choices of others. Confidence of one's choices and confidence in themself is all that's required.
Mounting the corpus on a piece of plexiglass or Perspex, now that’s something I think I can do with my 18th century bronze corpus that’s been in a drawer for years. Thanks for the inspiration.
Good lord !!! Just seeing snip-it's of this guy's portfolio of work, I can tell he's way above others in talent. He's definitely the designer of designers... Or ? is it... The designer for designers ? Oh well, whatever ! He's just the BEST !!!
These people are on another level...i never understand abstract painting, nor do i understand keeping weird statues without body head and without hand.
I love your beautiful home! And I love how you draw your designs on your tablet! This is something I’d like to learn how to do. Please give me a bit of advice on this. How did you learn?
Yo podrìa vivir en una choza en medio del campo y estar bien, pero què orgàsmico ver tanta belleza!!! Impecable equilibrio! Y encima don Douglas habla INGLES ! no yankee, asì que le entieeeendo! Merveilleux!!!!
absolutely agree! I've watched decorators over many years.....they can do magic with furniture but never with paintings and real art.....they constantly fail to forget about colour, texture and other decorators tools, instead of seeing the art work itself.
paintings absolutely stunning, unique and on point. some of the best art and paintings I've ever seen.....every room steeped in class, style. fantastic. BTW, most certain your taste is to be cough, cough, desired.
Like!.. Art for me is an expression and a unique way to see the world throughout the medium used and reflects the painter views in visual effects .... Sometimes even hiding dark secrets ;)
Very impressive and interesting. He has assembled things cleverly and courageously. I could have done without the background music which was irrelevant and unnecessary, and at times intrusive.
Yes, disposable income is necessary. If you have that then buy what you enjoy and makes you happy. A roll of bread and a gallon of milk for me, thank you!
A young Cambridge lad possibly from a wealthy aristocrat family stays rich and savour that very life just like his ancestors might have. I guess it proves that rich stays rich, poor stays poor unless you're an extraordinary person who overcomes the background. One thing is though, I don't see 'less ordinary' in this as the title suggests, only the typical ordinary high class person's life.
IQ , and other characteristics which help a person get ahead, are largely HERITABLE. People who've inherited genes which make them dumb, ugly, lazy and foolish, tend to move downward - even when they've been given substantial wealth. People whose genes make them smart, beautiful, driven to achieve, and wise, tend to move upward - even when they begin with nothing. And we were not told whether or not he had to PAY, to attend Cambridge.
A lot of stuff but it works and blends well.... a beautiful home. Ps I feel sorry for the poor cleaner or cleaners because that place would be a nightmare to keep up
Love his collection but I have to say obstructing the artwork with sculpture is a little wrong in my eye... But I'm not a top interior designer so maybe I'm wrong. I wonder how the painters feel about that?
I get the sense he wants to impress himself and not anyone else! Very refreshing! Fabulous collection and the decor amazingly perfect.
I'm not sure what I enjoy more, the art or the sound of your voice..my goodness!!!
Right?! OMG, such a LUXURIOUS voice and home lol!
What a deep voice! You can't say no to this guy.
LMAOOOO
True. I was thinking the same thing- deep voice with an accent.
@@revanelson8810 doesn't every person have an accent ?!!
😂
I don't swing that way.
I’d buy his voice- a work of art in itself😍
I agree
that green painting above his mantle is jaw droppingly gorgeous! his aesthetic and taste is beyond impeccable. an unerring eye.
I'd have one too if it were within my budget.
Beautiful and yet his home looks so welcoming and filled with life!
Art is where you find it. In that sense it is priceless.
So seemingly humble and understated.I am referring to the urbane gentleman. Yet...........this bold house speaks loudly of a powerful personality behind it.
I like what Mr. Mackie said about learning about an artist but that it's more important to learn about yourself.
Learn what you like, not what's trendy.
I adore this. His home is full of color and texture. The art is sublime. I am sick of austere blank canvases with no story.
This guy would make an awesome narrator.
Mesmerizing voice. Dreamy interiors. What a concoction!

Love his clean balanced subtle style.
I loved it very much!!!It was a pleasure to this!!!!!!
Truly stunning. I felt as though I was in one of my philosophy books and reading the sentences over and over and over... to make sure I absorbed as much meaning as possible... of course also made mental notes. What a brilliant artist.
Surprise!! Lovely design
His art buying advice is on point.
He has a great deal of wisdom and practical good sense to impart. Much appreciated.
Brilliant Philosophy.....not what but how, art should be embraced and resonate with surroundings, and other pieces. In my mind....the cladding of ones soul.............
The green block painting!
This guy has a collection very much my own taste. Love it.
I’ve often told my wife - whether it be antiques or garments - the outfit of the day…I genuinely since a young age wanted to do it for pure joy and not to signal or court attention. It’s true joy - that’s it. Authentic and real.
Definitely a favorite designer. Great with color and composition.

Shareing Culture is Noble in evry way ! Thank you Mister !
Fabulous collection and the decor amazingly perfect.
I hope to have a Henry Moore drawing casually hanging near my refrigerator one day as well.
Exactly! Why not?
Stunning work, very talented

Screw rule books! “Ultimately it’s to do with taste”….love that.
Your house is exquisite. Thank you very much for sharing.
That was an apartment I could love. Suited my preference and likes...
I don't understand the comments on the paintings. They are beautiful
...His voice is soooo seductive and mesmerising. It makes me sleepy
Unintentional ASMR :):)
I'd be too sleepy to be seduced.
Gives Me Chubb......
I feel sorry for his students (unintentionally falling asleep in class).
Or maybe youre just tired🤔
I've been reading and watching interior design shows, magazines, and books for more than 30 is the first experienc
Beautifully done!

A very wonderful, insightful, thought provoking presentation.
Thanks!🙏

very nice...had to watch twice.
His air and "collection" are the epitome of smart.
Yo dirìa sensibilidad ya que smarts hay muchos pero...
@@mariavairo1640 In this regard I believe they mean it in the English sense....sharp...attractively neat and stylish.

The greats developed their vision and style by hand drawing everything...
no, not always, not always at all.

Very interesting eye and attitude..very soothing man
Audiobooks with that voice (something like Of Human Bondage, for example) and you will be stuck in your chair for hours. Impeccable taste.
One word ..gorgeous
Love your taste. There is something unique about it.
It’s beautiful interior 🔝🔝🔝
His voice is amazing
Decor is superb, the paintings, no thank you.
absolutely agree!

😂I thought I’m the only one.
the paintings are personal. he likes it, it sparks something inside so that is all the matters. art an objective, personal experience.
@@seficurada4375 Agree!!!!!, porque en los comentarios anteriores supongo que haràn combinar el cuadro con los colores de los sillones....

Love that orange couch
I want his voice to introduce a 90's RnB ballad. Yass vocal zaddy!
Sage advice we can apply to all of life’s experiences
What is the painting app he is using on his pad?
Similar to my collecting taste.. wonderful
I love this guy.
I love the crucifix ❤️
Beautiful home! Love it 💕
I have always liked the idea of two dimensional and three dimensional pieces being displayed together for variety and for continuity.
Class! Pure class -
i like the way he is dealing with middle life crisis
What an interesting guy. I’d definitely be interested in him doing up my place if I had a big house.
Enjoyed! Thank you.
I appreciate the comment, about drawing.
Merci, Douglas! Delicious...
What is the program to draw in 1:26?
Good question!
I think it's 'Paper'. I use it on my iphone
Love it !
Wish there was more....
i love interior designing...

Very impressive and interesting. He has assembled things cleverly and courageously.

The instrumental music in the beginning please?
And this man has great taste
Absolutely!!!
You can see when people buy art because they love it and not because they want to impress society
I'm drawn to finding creative ways to get my pension to feed my wife and I the whole week
Besito sin coronavirus desde Argentina
what is the musical theme that plays in the beginning?
Good! Sensible conversation.
He could start a career in doing voice overs for documentaries.
He left out the most important piece of advice - Have a lot of money.
demon cleaner Truly the most important ingredient he excluded!

I notice they have a taste for "abstract" which in my opinion is the easiest type of "art" to create.
Thank You
A lot of stuff but it works and blends well.... a beautiful home.

SG R you don’t care about cleaning when you are this rich
How many living rooms does this man have?
A life well lived
His voice sounds like his apartment
Amazing
