    Looking forward to this. I really like the idea of pets being a better part of your actual build & Kit instead of just a "Here is really the only viable thing, might as well use it"

      I'm still going to use Klaus, because if any of my companions can kill me for not using them it's the one that's gotten more kills than any one of my weapons

    I am thankful everyday that Steve decided to do something else. The best thing to happen to Warframe in the last 5 years was him giving the reigns to Rebecca.

      It was him, Scott, and that other bald lead dude(can't remember his name). Each one of them deliberately hamstrung their respective area out of some perceived notion of superiority, contempt, and who knows what else. Scott kept on with deliberately lazy and shitty warframe kit designs and reworks, Steve with not allowing accessibility features to let the game be easier to interact with due to his obession over thematic feel, and 3rd bald dude held companion changes in shackles for as long as feasibly possible.
      Now they just need actually practical innate vacuum or a shared loot acquisition system and innate energy and health regen on every applicable warframe and they theyre set to fix everything else in proper form, imo.

      @@111kino Shared loot would honestly do the trick. As for energy, if we touch that we should honestly have a conversation about Warframe design and movement, and how we manage our energy as a whole. Should abilities have cooldowns? Do we really need to stick with the whole 25/50/75/100 cost so rigidly especially after a few frames deviated from it and we have energy cap + tools along with efficiency mods? My brain is still on an AC6 high and it's making me think of the old days of the stamina bar. I know people didn't like it but I have fantasized if we had a similar thing of EN cap and recharge rates, where certain advance movement use our energy? We never run out but you would need to use a tiny bit of brain power to not put yourself in a pickle. But I know a lot of people would hate that and would want more 'choices and planning' progressively streamlined until it's out of the game completely.

      @@Omegeddon There is a reason.. it used to be a feature then in their infinite wisdom DE moved that feature to a mod called preparation that could easily be obtained in T1 excavation missions then moved the mod over to conclave then it was moved to arbitration offerings.

    This is seriously the type of updates they should have been doing, infrequently at the very least, throughout the years. It's stuff that needed to be touched up and had it been in already could had affected the direction the game went given some changes and choices made due to the way how the wider player base interacted with it. I'm already thinking up new possibilities and edits to my builds.

      In all seriousness, that has been a dev strategy I have had a problem with for years. I even see forum posters have this ridiculous idea that "new" = "good". Always make new thing. When it's just as good to reinforce the current. When they do actual tileset reworks/new stuff it's straight baller, but the reworks in particular rarely happens. They create game modes then abandon them when it would be better to remove and or touch up existing ones. When was the last time they even acknowledge Hijack or even Assault for that matter?

      It's the catch 22 of live service games. Spend limited resources fixing/improving existing systems, people complain there's no new content. Use those resources to make new content, people complain that older systems need work.

    I just joined around 2 weeks ago but even I was noticing how annoying it was for my kubrow to get downed or my taxon to explode. I'm very exited for more QOL changes!

      yea I feel u, years ago I was annoyed with that too, try to get Regen/Primed Regen, it'll help ur Sentinels live longer
      but don't get too excited yet, most veterans knew how DE handle things, just wait n see, whenever they fix things another things gonna get broken, u may ever heard about the terms of bugframe? so yea

    I hope that these changes make companions even more interesting in buildmaking, in the past its always been an extra tool for you build that gives you a particular buff and thats it, imagine having 10 clone dethcube destroying everything in you way

    They need to add a "hide crafted" option, the same way they have hide and hide mastered. I have so many menus filled with things to buy... all of which I have already crafted.

      @@szadeklautrec2475 not quite sure what you mean about the selling but... 'Hide Owned' only hides what you own, not what you've crafted. So as Warframe is basically packed with blueprints, you end up with pages and pages or blueprints for things you've already crafted and mastered (as you don't then to buy the blueprint a second time)

      There as so many weapons and everything that once your done with it as in got it to lvl 30 and your not gonna use it again you bin it which means its master and you dont own it
      Which means it shows up when going to craft things and you have no chance of remembering everything you have already mastered and shouldnt craft again

      thats a different Feature, useful for the menus it would be "hide mastered"
      I thunk we need a direct unequip button more for all the arsenal slots that can be empty.

    These abilities will still work on pets, and will work better than now
    These abilities currently only give pets the "defense objective" version of the buff (i.e. capped damage reduction and fixed regeneration amount)

    The moment i got my hands on the fox in the firdt few hours of release. I immedtally realized: this is the only companion the players will use in high end content... if they want to have a companion. Good to see the main reason why is being added to all.

    Pablo confirmed on Twitter that Vacuum and Animal Instinct WILL work even when pet is incapacitated.
    Warframe is saved bois.

    I think the meta isn't going to change more drastically, however making all pets immortal evens out the playing field. Panzer will still be pretty strong due to it being viral as well as a lifesaver, but there is now going to be space for more fragile sentinels to contribute. Since they aren't touching abilities just yet, we have to see if they have anything new to add to the kits of existing companions (hope we get something similar to martyr symbiosis but offensive for Vaporise. Storing 10% of killed enemies hp within 25m and add it 20% of total stored to the damage of the laser. I mean 20% like ammo, so when you don't kill anything for a while, it still has some reserves to fire from. This may result in absurd scaling where it stores an absurd amount of damage, but it's vaporising ONE enemy every TEN seconds, cmon)

    I'm really looking forward to seeing how many bond mods there will be and what they will do. I'm looking forward to some wacky synergies and cool tricks. I hope there is something for invisibility frames that is unique and cool; Invis frames haven't got special attention in a while iirc (not that they need it, just would like to see it).

      I'm planning to run Deathcube with a corrosion/cold helstrum. Hopefully, duplex mod at least copies the mods on the companion weapon that way I can just have two deathcubes spreading a crap ton of corrosion for my Hydroid to Plunder. Also, it seems like a fantastic way to generate energy orbs too.

    the Reinforced Bond suddenly seems extremely appealing if you can pair it with the Melee Moa.
    little dude gets like 4k shields as one of its abilities iirc. that's an easy +60% firerate buff that i can slap on my Harrow and Arca Plasmor.

      What is wrong with the ai? 9 times out of 10 enemy's die in 2 seconds so I don't really know what an issue there are.

      @@Seth-Halo Only if you play using meta builds sure, if not then not a chance. For a game built on customization it's not very customizable, only roughly 10% of the weapons that exist in the game are truly usable outside the beginning of the game, unless you start counting in rivens which means people relying a certain mods which again implies using meta type builds.

    I see Potato completely misunderstood the healing changes, too.
    "Companions will no longer gain Health when your Warframe does if using certain Health-absorbing powers together with the Mod Linked Vitality (formerly Link Health). **The **restrictions** of the following abilities and features, as they apply to granting Health, Shields, or Damage Resistance to Pets. have been removed**:"
    Previously pets were treated like defense objectives and only gained partial benefit. This will no longer be the case and they can be healed just like they were another player.

      Bruh DE muddled that paragraph, they said that link health linked healing gets yeeted, but the abilities that were previously limited will work fully. I'm almost done the explanation video today. I even spotted the massive errors in what was shows as the pet stats slide stats and analyzed the actual data and their consequences.

    I'm an Oberon main and I still run almost exclusively sentinels because I didn't want to have the revive warning pop up. This is despite the heal over time ability and companion health buff Oberon gets.

    I just came back a few days ago to farm Wisp Prime. Glad to see that some much wanted changes are coming. Better late than never. The pet changes are huge to me because a large part of this games enjoyment for me is playing the game a different way every time. I pretty much ran a vulpa or my shade for invis. I like my Moas but they can’t stay alive. As long as its a more open meta for pets then I’m good. Idk if they fixed RJ, I’m afraid to try

    My companions were already virtually unkillable outside of high level steel path because of how much I've invested in them so now I'm expecting they'll never die. Companions were a huge importance to my early enjoyment and fun of this game. I went into the Simulacrum to test my kabat damage to see what set of mods let them kill the fastest without getting rid of too much sustain. So this update has been long awaited for me. I was hoping for more damage on them but more survivability on them is definitely nice too. Maybe I'll finally start working harder on my sentinels but I can't pass up on my kats. Hoping we get a new pet type one day or an infested kavat or something

      Warframe 1999 showed a gorgeous Kavat and hopefully she joins our Menagerie in some form as she looks just to be TMITW's companion but that'll be nearer Christmas when we find out

Part of me is hoping for a fourth Kavat we can breed but another is skeptical that she'll just be a fur pattern like the Moonless based off the Ferals we found on Deimos. Really hoping she's one we can breed though ngl my Vaquaera would look amazing like that :p

      sadly the Infested Kavat isn't possible. If you recall your Codex scans of the Feral Kavats on Deimos they are somehow immune to the Infestation. How the Vulpaphyla ended up the way it is I put down to Entrati intervention somewhere although it has yet to be stated if any connection exists between the Kavat and Vulpaphyla species. We also still don't know what breed of kavat Venari is, she is so unique in her appearance and devotion to her mistress hence us not being able to call her when Khora is asleep in the Orbiter

    biggest issue with new mods for... mostly ANYthing in the game is: you have a very limited space to put them in. It slowly is getting to the point that you really would need as many slots as the necramechs to fit all you want inside your frames and weapons :)
    A side note is that DE seams to think that giving new mods to existing guns to "fix" issues is a thing- maybe for some. but the most meta builds just wont have space for it anyway

      And they’re adding more and more arcanes for guns as well. There are a lot of mods in the “well this would be nice to have _but”_ category. Mods you just can’t use because you _have_ to focus on damage and don’t have the space for anything else on most weapons. Eight slots and 60-80 points isn’t going to be enough eventually, and it’s worse for arcanes with only 1 slot with the exception of kitguns of course.
      It would be fine if they’d just stuck to the original 3, or just had all the new ones do the same thing as those 3 (add raw damage) with different conditions and bonuses, but instead they added stuff that does other things, complicating the modding issue further.
      Personally I’d prefer a modding system that was much dumber (simpler, even an idiot could do it), and put more thought intensive objectives into missions, rather than the opposite, which is what we have now.

      I feel like a lot of the "MUST USE" mods should be base kit, so that you have more room for fun stuff

      The point is so that there isn't a "meta" build, so that in certain circumstances, some mods are better than others and there isn't just a one-size-fits-all build that is optimal everywhere. To that end having more conditionally meta mods is a good thing, after all the idea is to have to consider your options and make trade offs, not just mindlessly slot in the stuff that's obviously the best.

      @@Avoncarstien I mean that sounds cool but then you have the issue where the mod system just ends up sucking even more. It is already complicated enough to the point that if it doesn't kill player retention (it really truly does) then the people that stick through it are just going to watch build videos. Brozime and others have a niche. I have 3k hours in the game and even then I use build videos and only change certain things to my liking. And thats just because I know how I play vs others can sometimes differ. Most players would love to just be given a premade build and sent forward like in duviri.

      @@Avoncarstien On 90% of guns the build is: Galvanized multishot mod, Galvanized status chance mod, crit chance and damage mods, 2 elemental mods, and hunter munitions. That is 7 of 8 mods without using the flat damage mod, your use of which will depend on your choice of arcane.

    Ahh, the new mods are going to be available the conservation vendors, that's smart. People who have their rep maxed can likely get them easy, while people who don't have more reason to do so. Perfect.
    Yeah, better companion interaction, not having them die permanently, I really can't wait for that, probably most of all the QoL coming in a couple weeks. I love the variety in what the different companions can do, like the hacking moa and the stealth finisher kubrow...I'd love to make more use of them, but in the past, haven't been able to. Very excited that'll be a bigger thing going forward. If we can't, like, control them outright the way Kahl directs his brothers around, this is absolutely the next best thing.

    side note shield will raise the dr as well on shielded enemies so they get chunckier as well with the 50% shield damage reduction so corpus and orokin and any shield enemy will require you to do 25% more damage and make toxic and magnetic even more important again so recommand at leats 1 toxic or magnetic weapon.

    Love all of the cahnges... Except making some Warframe defence abilities no longer apply to the pets. One of my favorite parts about Baruuk gameplay was how the Desolate hands would apply to pets, sentinels, and allies. Bummer this was removed.

    Having the pets be way more tanky is nice and all, but one of their biggest issues is that they do like 0 damage in high levels. They are basically just vehicles for utilities like armour stripping, vacuum, and enemy radar (and charm buff from Smeeta, but that's going away soon).
    My biggest hope for companions is that they get a bit of an AI overhaul and more damage. Attack more often, but don't attack if im not attacking, attack enemies that are out of sight from me or behind me, prioritize things like armour stripping abilities on tanky enemies, etc. Because most of the time I don't even register that my pet is doing anything at all, and when I do its because it did something annoying. I basically want to see my pet actively participating in the fight and have it do things that make me say "good job boy!" every now and then, rather than what happens now where it either ruins my stealth or gets stuck and I just sit there going "no you idiot I should have put you back in your crate!"

    Honestly, I really love this. Because now the pet's are gonna have max health, armor, and shield right off the bat at rank 0 instead of rank 30. And now that all pet's are gonna get their partial immortality buff like the Vulpaphyla's. Makes all pets viable and useful because now your not stuck to using Vulpaphyla's for high ranking missions because they couldn't die. You can actually have more than the Vulpaphyla's out on high ranking missions which would improve the meta for high rank missions.

    yeah duplex bond is kinda going to be crazy if you have a high energy gain and spend frame, like Styanax.
    I wonder how the reawaken augment of Djin will be reworked, I tend to use him since it's one of the few "unkillable" sentinels. Moas and Hounds are going to be far more fun now with the changes.

    I'm really looking forward to this, I have quit out of so many endless missions in the past because my sentinel died and I couldn't be bothered to run over to grab every single piece of loot. I'm also looking forward to not requiring a Vulpa for long solo missions, and being able to bring my Helios or Oxylus for further utility and less tedium. So many improvements have already been made, but nowadays those just weren't enough to make all companions viable let alone good or comfortable. Still remember the days when Vacuum was Carrier only and you needed to maintain the genetic stability of your kubrows to have them be marginally useful.

    I really hope duplex bond isn't limited to 1 clone... when playing gyre I would frequently expend 100 energy every 5-10 seconds and creating a swarm of companions just sounds fun...

    The Link Health and Enhanced Vitality bit is always how I looked at it. Low health frames use Enhanced Vitality on Sentinels, Moa's and the Sister Hounds. The health from Enhanced Vitality tends to be more worth it with 300 HP frames. I'm honestly surprised if people didn't see it that way. It really shows the limited mentality of the player base if you ask me. Just hive minding builds and never being creative and understanding the game themselves.

    This is off topic, but lore wise Is ballas from duviri? On the prison island we can see ballas as the guard or person who watches over it. The shop keeper of duviri has a random line where she mentions him and specifically calls him out for pretending he isn't from duviri even though he is.
    I know it's off topic, but it has me EXTREMELY curious how this impacts stuff lore wise and i haven't been able to find anyone mention it.

    I suspect the clone mod will be just a base specter, maybe with some damage/survival scaling. Because it can become wacky fast: Nidus ults, he clones the helminth charger with the helmint mod set equiped, then the clone copy the mods too...congratulations! You flooded the tileset with maggots xD everybody fps go brrrr. Something similar with the hound mod diversified denial.

    As a joke, I'd love to see those QOL updates include actual drop rates for Bite and Maul (I've played for about 5 or 6 years and still never seen one pop up in a mission).
    Jokes aside, I'd like to know roughly how much of the player base actually regularly plays missions where these changes are even necessary. If this were to come with an overall difficulty overhaul to the game, I'd be elated.

      Why would you even want those? Not only are they completely worthless considering companions have a base damage of about 6, they take up slots that can go towards tek mods.
      Or alternatively you know, just buy them, they go for a whopping 1 platinum.

    i hadn't even heard about the new companion mods. duplicating my doggo? bro i've got the one breed that can do finishers that's already both chunky and tall enough that you could mistake her for Rhino on all fours, i can't wait to run a weirdass Hildryn build with negative efficiency to spend as much energy as possible to crank out that duplication

    Doesnt matter about the survivability. If smeeta and adarza still the only pets that do their signature abilities. Then I'm still not changing out of them! And carrier with its ammo assisting. Only 3 real good companions.

    I’m still waiting for them to update the Proto Armor skin for Excalibur. The shoulders are misaligned, and the booty is angular. Lastly, the Umbra details cause chest armors to be overlapped by the scarf.

    I dont expect my pet to be much more important after the changes. I am mostly hyped about pet immortality and Pablo confirming vacuum and animal instinct will still work despite the pet being incapacitated just made me look forward to that update even more. Ever since I got the infested pet, I never really switch to any other pet considering this one basically never dies. Now that all pets are invincible, I feel like I can start thinking what pet I want to bring on the field for what side effect and also for aestitic purpose.

    This is such lovely news. Few things are as disheartening as your Kubrow getting downed half a tileset away and you not noticing until it's too lare.

    I still feel that collars should act as weapons for beast companions and be able to hold damage mods. Its not fair that robotic companions like sentinels, MAOs and Hounds can hold a modded weapon AND hold mods themselves. But Kudrows, Kavats, and Deimos pets can only hold mods on the body.

    Can someone confirm for me whether or not you can buff your Kavat, Kubrow, or Vulpaphyla with warframe buffs? I know Hildryn's shield transfer works but not much else. If not they should certainly add that to companions. Would be cool to see wisp or harrow buff their companions making a monster.

      Wisp already works on companions, and health link double dips from wisp. Its not uncommon to see my cat ripping around with 3500hp.

    also the new shield gate will be used by the enemies as well😂 happy chonky enemies. and most likely will break a bunch of shielded bosses in some way or form. what then will take time untill they hotfix them. this is most likely why pablo was smiling on the side.

Shielded enemies have their own unique shield gating (Also they don't have the tenno shielding type that is going to grant a 50% DR) that doesn't grant them invincibility but rather nets them 90% damage reduction to overspill from the shield unless a headshot broke it.

    The fact they needed several years to finnaly give us a good companion rework doesn't fill me with confidence. If they really needed that much time to fix this system, how much will we have to wait to see something like conclave reworked, or expand the railjack content(e.g. bring back the ground/space mission system from scarlet spear op, or add more content to the already existing types of missions), give warframes more utilities to their kit. As much as i apreaciate them moving the main story forward, i would love to see them slow down with pumping out newer and newer content to look back at the already existing one and improve it.

    Are they gonna fix the glitch with “the aftermath” quest, I’ve been stuck on it for a week now and literally can’t play the game, there’s a section where you have to talk to a character but when you do the game freaks out and your stuck there, she doesn’t talk, you can’t move or do anything, and since it’s part of the new war, I can’t leave and play normally 😭

    In so many cases, I would just be fighting with my sentinel at full health and shields. I look away for 2 seconds and the next thing I see is "Dead" even with all the mods I give it. So this is nice to hear.

    The pet changes is a huge one as i got into the habit of immediately rolling my ass to my pet if it managed to go down
    Yeah my build travels fasted by spamming roll as you cant always bullet jump due to space
    Edit: i still want the old heavy attack back because life steal is way to flipping hit and miss and im still waiting for the option to turn off self explosive damage protection
    My kunai blast me to space even from 20 meters away and with so much of the game being in small enclosed spaces it means i look like a damn pingpong ball
    The 2 worst changes in my eyes are the removal of fast constant heavy attacks and the removal of explosive self damage with the stupid knockback BS and i am still waiting for them to be pit back how they use to be or for the player to be given the option to choose rather than be forced

    I got builds that can burn through 100 energy every 3 seconds and never rum out. If I'm getting a new Smeeta buff every 3 seconds I'm just gonna disappear into an endless mission and never come back out.
