Clueless teenagers with the 70s car. What does it prove? They don't know how to drive such a car.. Different to start, no power steering, heavier controls. What would they make of something from the 50s? Having said that, I'm sure it wouldn't take them very long to adapt.
I passed my test in my little Mk2 Pop Plus, wouldn't have a modern one, my car has so much character & it so fun to drive. Never driven a modern one, mainly because if I drove a modern one, I'd see a Mk1 or Mk2 & say "I bought the wrong car". matter of taste really
I am 25 now, and I am driving VW Golf 2 and Ford Escort mk3. Simple cars for real man :D Driving them is real workout, but you get really strong arms! :D
The steering it's too hard in the all old Ford fiesta,but if you want to be soft,press air tire up little more, choice press bar 2,6 air,and with good drive you realise soft steering.left and right.
I consider the 1976 example a modern car that is extremely easy to drive - if those kids had been properly oriented with it they would have had no problems at all. It's easy to see out of, the steering is accurate and the controls are very thoughtfully laid out...better. Looks better, too.
well you should definitely test drive the 1 litre ecoboost. i'd even go as far and say that it has better nvh than various bmw's (f30 320d for example).
it is a great engine indeed, but they should have given it a 6 speed manual, at least the 125ps motorisation. like the Focus and the Mondeo/Fusion. (yes in EU you can have the 1L ecoboost in that car)
If Ford want to big up their new Fiesta why don't they compare it to a competitors current model instead of a car over 3 decades old. There's something far wrong if a modern Fiesta has not come along any in 35 years. I'd still have the MK1 every time though.
