Kode9! My man, I remember meeting you outside Amersham Arms in New Cross circa 2008 (my memory is so bad I'm probably way off) after a mad Benga set! We discussed my photography project I based off of 1 of ya music videos...your music to this day still inspires me 💖
fam I get confusedconfused between what's mixing and what's a production! at this point its whatever! that hyph11e Barnacles remix is took me out! fire!
From Dubstep Allstsrs 3 to this white noise... I really dont get how smth like this can happen. Dubstep Allstars 3 is on of my most listened mixes ever and this sounds like a headache to me.
What you miss is actually white noise. That's what makes vinyl sound warm fuzzy. Digital mixing makes mixes faster and clearer with less noise, enabling consumers with increased sensory capacitance the ability to process more information. This music is not meant to be relaxing. It's meant to stimulate, exhaust, and automate sensory processing akin to a trance. Hypnosis can be achieved through psychic exhaustion and/or relaxation
@@JoshJamesification You dont have to explain digital vs vinyl to me mate. I have lots of vinyls and a turntable. I am talking about trackselection. I somewhat understand that times progress but I still dont fully understand how do you get from Dubstep Allstars 3 to this...
Mate dubstep allstars is nearly 20 years old lol. You're asking someone to want to create the same style they were 2 decades ago. He's at a different time in his life completely. Some of these styles are like a modern distillation of uk jungle and dubstep and garage elements anyway, it's really not hard to see the progression. Tbh he's actually gone to a super unique place with theses tunes even when you're familiar with this style. Super interesting and fresh if you listen to more then 5 mins.
1, if you listen to what he says at the start about being in the club in the dark, I think it is quite clear that he enjoys the anonymity of that experience. Wearing a mask is another way to achieve that. 2, it sets a good example and shows solidarity with what is going on in the world at the moment.
the burial hoodie completes this set
:D
I've never clicked on anything so fast in all my life 🖤

Quite the set, rhythm was all over the place. Really funky. I wish Kode9 would give us some harder jungle like his early release on KATA001 circa 1999

Only Kode9 could work dungeon synth into a set without completely derailing it.
I knew I was hearing some like medieval fantasy elements here and there, was such a unique vibe on a couple of the tunes

Starfox 64?
What is this genre considered? I hear influence of afrobeat rhythms! DNB, dubstep, etc. I know Kode9 is deep in the dubstep scene.
Some of it is Footwork.
You should check out Chicago Juke, since a lot of the rhythms are similar.
its all mixed nowdays
Some "UK Bass", some footwork and juke.
I really hope that he produces dubstep, like in the older days 🙄
Track from 3:28 anyone?
