yep. approx the same time Arcade Fire - Funeral and Editors - The Back Room. And I hate to say none of them replicated the promise of their first albums.

I'm 55 and this ad campaign has me in tears. Seeing these children with their highs and lows, joys and pains, laughter and tears, brings me back to my youth, and reminds me to be more caring and forgiving of the children of today, because we were just like them once 🥲

I just spotted something extremely random. At 1:35, the girls are dancing outside a row of shops. The shop pictured is in Glasgow (I walk past it from time to time) and it’s the shop used as Navid’s store in the legendary Scottish sitcom Still Game. Lots of scenes were filmed on that little bit of street too. Just a small piece of trivia for anyone interested haha. Anyway, great song!

      I figured it out.
The drums are the relentless march of life, the physical permanence our every waking moment ties us to.
The guitars are introspection, the malleable and semi permanent mental models we develop to make sense of and predict life.
The vocals are our transient feelings of variously sadness, wishes for another chance, our time over again to make different decisions, joy.
And ultimately exhilaration at "figuring it out" - our appreciation and integration of all of these elements; body, mind and spirit.
A fantastic video for the most beautiful song. Love to all ❤

@@GIChowIt somehow makes sense! The part at 2:05 is without drums and feels like you’re flying above the ground, as if your mind is wandering away from it all after a major setback in life, with the angelic vocals, leading back to the drum bringing you back to the real world. Beautiful

Beautiful song and video. My daughter is about to be a teenager and I'm filled with so much dread about it, but at the same time I realize that I have to let go a little bit, let her experience things both good and bad. But you want to protect your kids from heartache, from feeling bad. But ultimately you can't, and probably shouldn't. There are valuable lessons even in the tough parts of growing up.

As someone who has been a fan of bloc party from day one, this is incredible. I have a 13 year old son and, it's hard to articulate but I see my son living his life but to my soundtrack growing up. Hard to explain but I fucking love it!

What a beautiful music video. I still remember going to FNAC to buy the CD Silent Alarm. I was 15 years old and Bloc Party was my favourite band. Thank you for all the great memories. Your music will always stay with me.

I haven't even started this yet and I just know it's gonna hit me. Listened to this album growing up with my mom. We would go to the snow and play the entirety of Silent Alarm and this other album by a Canadian band Mobile. Still a favorite album of mine to this day. Thanks for something special ❤

Nunca pensé en volver a ver un nuevo video de esta canción 🎉 y menos siendo un tema del Silent Alarm, fue en su momento y seguirá siendo una de mis canciones favoritas.

I don't think there's a band who remind me more of being in school than Bloc Party, they connected with me right at the point being shown in this video, right when you're experiencing so many things for the first time so intensely. Hearing them always tales me back to those feelings

Oh my God, this debut album came out when I was 15 and I listened to it so much from start to finish.
Now, 18 years later - 33 year old me is hearing this played over some kids at school taking me right back through memory lane, oh man, the nostalgia and feels are hitting so hard right now. Bloc Party introduced me to one of my favourite genres of music - indie math rock.
I have tears in my eye, and just found out that I'm gonna be a dad!
I hope this album continues to inspire generations to come.
    Much love ❤

I'm 33 as well and have fond memories as a 15 year old listening to this. Takes me back to a very specific party at a pivotal moment in my young life. Congrats on becoming a dad, got 2 myself (started much younger than you though) and its the hardest amazing thing you'll ever do. Enjoy! And don't forget to play your baby this fine music from our childhoods.

@@technicolourdream Ahhh, God bless you and your family, thanks for your kind wishes and words, means a lot man.
Yeah, I'm scared but excited, nervous but joyous, it's a bit crazy haha, I just hope I'll be a good father, typing this out here is making my heart beat faster, I think its still taking time to settle in my head lol.
Thank you, I will definitely make sure my music taste passes on to my children and maybe my guitar playing skills too haha, bless you man 🙏
