Clare Torry is 75 years old AND still alive. She also worked on Alan Parson's Project...among other things. The sequence at 4:20 is sublime...it's a repeat of 3:38 The notes are simple but I love the sound. Clare's voice at 5:02 is so fucking cool...obviously sampled.
She sued Pink Floyd 33 years later...she was only paid 30 pounds... "In 2004, Torry sued Pink Floyd and EMI for songwriting royalties on the basis that her contribution to "The Great Gig in the Sky" constituted co-authorship with keyboardist Richard Wright. In 1973, as a session singer, she was paid only the standard flat fee of £30 for Sunday studio work (the equivalent of £400 in 2022).[9] She said in 1998, "If I’d known then what I know now, I would have done something about organising copyright or publishing."[14] In 2005, an out-of-court settlement was reached in Torry's favour, although the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.[15] All releases after 2005 carry an additional credit for "Vocal composition by Clare Torry"[16] for the "Great Gig in the Sky" segment of the booklet or liner notes." I wonder how much she got. This entire song is brilliant.
Ive been a pink one and a tangerine one for at least 30 years and as the great gig goes with Clare Torry I bought LE PARC when it came out and to this day I didn't know it was Clare doing as only Clare dose so I thank you for telling us that this track is really great my regards to you thanks
I'm pleased that I finally found this. The cruddy compilation CD (From dawn till dusk progarchives com / album.asp ? id = 10373) lists it as "Poland" which caused a lot of confusion.
Wow...what a GREAT song!!! I was introduced to this song by Pandora. Thank you, Pandora:)
Music and vision in perfect harmony.
Sublime! A synesthetic faithful representation of the subject!
Great Electronic of TD ! Greets from Poland ;-)
Excellent video. In my opinion, This is the best of all "Le Parc" album´s pieces.
I agree completely. LE PARC is a good disc, but this is the best track on it.
I agree, with "the cliffs of Sidney"
Nice vocal by Clare Torry who also sang Great Gig for Pink Floyd.
... and the theme to "Butterflies."
Her son was in my Music Technology class, back in 2009, he was born of acid. Lol. such an amazing vocalist…
Outstanding beautiful way to illustrate the dream concept.

There's definitely a Logos Live vibe to this.
I'd say it's definitely more Franke than Schmoelling.
Logos , very good to
naughty by nature
It's good you didn't mistakenly show scenes in Poland. In their album "From Dusk Til Dawn" this track is listed as "Poland," huh?
κι ομως το ''ρετιρε'' και το shazam με εφεραν εδω
Στην ταινία του Σωτήρη Μουστάκα το έβαλε το συγκεκριμένο song
«Διαρρήκτης με το ζόρι»
Clare Torry
الماظة
A wonderful soaring voice.
usually, i listen only 70's rock and metal, but if there is one electro band taht i can listen aand love,it's tangerine dream^^
It's not electro. It's New Age / progressive rock / ambient
@Hrabia Niczego and @Viktor M: Edgar Froese absolutely hated it, when people would call his music New Age.
