Hello Ms. Kelly, and welcome back home again. I L O V E those stunning old letters with the amazing hand carved letter head! The things that we so take for granted these days. Such as that back page your showed us. Someone had used it an filled the space up with all those doodles and practice lettering. It really just makes one pause and think about how good we have it these days, and so many things at our finger tips. We just take so much for granted. Thanks for these shares...your videos always make my day so much brighter!
Hi, Kelly! I have a small box in the shape of a book just like the one you showed. Mine belonged to my grandmother and it doesn’t have Saint Anthony, but a cross. It’s meant to keep a rosary (I still have it) that you could take out in your purse. My rosary is not that small, my grandmother used it to pray. I also have a little box that looks like the windows of a church with a really small image of Our Lady and a really small rosary. I’m going to send you the photos on IG. I also have lots of images like those, because all my family was catholic. I loved to have learnt that explanation about the “s”! Your videos are always great!💙💜❤️💚💗🧡🖤♥️💛
Thank you for answering two of life's important questions! I especially liked the explanation about esses that look like effs--brilliant--will add another dimension when I look at older books. More mysteries please.
Hi Kelly! I heard about your channel from a couple of ladies who attended a local retreat I hosted. Just came over and subscribed. WOW those old papers and relics you found are amazing! Sigh -- I just love old stuff. And great info about the hands. AND SUPER GREAT info about the serif and f and s. I had noticed these things for years. Like you said, I never really bothered to ask myself why. xx
Hi Lynn, what a fantastic thing to hear! Sometimes I feel as though no one can "see" me (yeah, I know that's not true but creative neurosis blah blah) so it is lovely to hear from someone else that some of the digital messages I am sending out in a virtual bottle have been opened and read! Where are you in NC? I lived in Asheville for years. Thanks again! Kelly
@@BookandPaperArts I am in Durham. Asheville is a place I’d love to visit and get to know better. I’ve spent time in the NC mountains but not in Asheville. ❤️
Hi Terri, what a great idea! In France the first of April is always celebrated with a fish (Poisson d'Avril) but what the heck. Vintage, whimsical fish shouldn't just be for April. Hope you make gorgeous pages. Kelly
Thank you for the sharing of those amazing finds . Plus the information - fascinating stuff - glad I know ‘the why’ now. You are generous to share on so many levels , much appreciated from down here in NZ. We seem so isolated with being a nation of such brief history ! 😊
Hi there. Thank you for getting in touch - I really do love to compare notes. I understand about being in a new country as I am originally from Mississippi, and while it is hardly teeming with old old stuff, from time to time it turns up, at yard sales, flea markets, auctions. Train your eyes to "look" for it and you may be surprised. Otherwise, just enjoy living in such a civilised country. I am quite jealous. 🌻🌼🌷Kelly
Your folio of papers would be records of baptisms, weddings and burials, as such they are priceless for genealogists of Italian descent! Very interesting video!💕🇨🇦
Oh wow. 2 wks in Italy. 🇮🇹. I’m jelly right now. lol. Jk. Hope it was so nice and enjoyed it all. The u for free printable mmmmmm so beautiful. Ty for sharing. ❤❤❤. That paper is so amazing. Lovely. ❤❤
Hi Laura. Thanks for touching base. I almost swooned when I found that paper. It's been over a year and I could still kick myself that I didn't go back and buy more. Still - that is how we learn. Hope you have a creative week! Kelly
Hi Judy. My apologies for the delayed response. That is a fantastic idea. I do make prayer journals that incorporate text from old prayer books. Turning one into a journal would be good, too. I have also turned some into altered books such as this one: th-cam.com/video/IcgD4Nj7wn4/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the lovely printables on your website. You got some lovely vintage items on your trip. Of course, I always love the wonderful feel of the rag paper.
Hi Lynne, it is a pleasure. I sell a lot of scans but to be honest with these, I just couldn't be bothered but I also wanted to get them Out There where they could be turned into something and loved. Make good stuff! Kelly
Absolutely fascinating. Brought back lots of memories. Reminded me of heritage. There used to be Saint cards everywhere. Oh how I wish I had them now. 💕
Hi Theresa. I actually have another one that is one of my treasures, not so much for the religious significance as just plain I love boxes shaped like books!
Thanks Kimberly. I am reading more and more about ink and paper history and thought the show and tell videos would be an apt place to drop in some of the stuff I am learning.
Hello Kelly, lovely finds from the Italian flee markets. Always thank you for the freebies. I didn't know that you live in Wales. I'm coming to Wales (Tenby, Porthcawl area) with my hubby in June. We are traveling by car. If you have any tips of places to visit I would love to get some secret spots. Have a beautiful creative day! Greetings from Germany!
Hello there. Why yes, I can suggest some places. I have lived here for 17 years and yes, we have many beauty spots. If you email me, I can write you about it. 🌻🌼🌷 kelly@bookandpaperarts.com
Books out of tea bags ! I have been waiting for this I have found a source of Xtra large bags. In NYS Wegmans sells black tea bags for making quart pitchers of ice tea. $2.39 for 24. Thank you.
Ha! Nope, hardly a word (unless pizza is a word and if it's not it ought to be) but I DID find a ton of cognates between French and Italian and it would be mighty tempting to try. 🤔🤔😺😺
Cheryl, I am very, very lucky and very, very blessed and I am aware of it every day and try to live into it and witness and spread it out there as I can. AND I hope you make great stuff from the images. Keep me posted. Kelly

How interesting, all those findings. Thank you for sharing
I always enjoy your videos hearing about your adventures and finds. ❤
Why thank you, Sharon. It is fun once and awhile to show and tell the old stuff. It has such mystery and what feels like stories. 😉
Wow! What terrific treasures😍
Miss Kelly, that was amazing stuff to learn in your video today! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for touching base, Deb. It is my real pleasure. 🌻🌻🌼🌼🌷🌷
The photos of the children with fish are so wonderful. I’m making my first junk journal for my brother and it’s about fishing. These are perfect!

This was a very informative video. Thank you for explaining things done in the past. Very interesting.
The little book might be a prayer box. You would write your worries and intersession prayer and keep it there.

Thank you so. The cards are like tiny works of art, each one a painting or print. 🌷🌷
Such lovely finds!
Thank you, Joy. 🌻🌻🌼🌼🌷🌷
Love the calligraphy book too its a beautiful art form ❤😮
Thanks bunches, Lara.
What a great video Kelly! It was so informative and glad to see you back!
Thanks bunches, Laurie. You know I love to explore but it darn good to be home and with my own stuff again.
Those Italian manuscripts! Oh man... and the St. Francis of Assisi card too! 🙏🙏
That card is for you. I was looking but I only found a couple. I'll send an email soon. 😺
I had a little rosary box like the one you showed today in the 50s.
Hi Theresa. I actually have another one that is one of my treasures, not so much for the religious significance as just plain I love boxes shaped like books!

Thanks bunches, Barry!
This was a great video!
I can’t wait to see how you alter the booklets. ❤
Thank you, Dorothy. Starting with some angels on tissue paper and we will see from there! I will definitely keep you posted. Kelly
Love those little shrines. In todays world we need e-shrines for our phones and watches. Maybe there’s an app…
My father had a tiny metal book like the one in your video. He was born with a caul and it was kept in that receptacle.
Wow. Thank you for sharing that tidbit, Karen. THAT is worth knowing about when I share info on the ephemera and whatnot. Thanks for touching base!
Interesting lesson about the cursive S. Love to learn new things!!!❤
Love the little box so sweet great finds well done. Never knew shrines came so tiny ❤😊
Tiny and oddly pricey. Just goes to show that size isn't everything. So small but so lovely and mysterious. 🌼🌼

Hi Karen. Yeah, sorry about that. I got - uhm....distracted. But now I am ready to get making those tiny, lovely pieces. Friday? Stay tuned! Kelly
No apology necessary.
Lemme guess…you speak Italian too 🤣🤣🥰🥰
