The comedy element was so over in 'love and thunder' that it just totally ruined the whole seriousness if the movie.

The reason behind Shang-chi 's low box office collection was pandemic as people was scared to go outside at that time. If Shang-chi was released at right time maybe it could perform better.But only legends know that Shang-chi is a underrated movie ❤️🔥 it's action scenes were legit awesome.

Factors effecting marvel box office:
1) China box office loss
2) Pre-Covid, movies were in theatres for at least 3 months and now marvel release DS: MoM in 47 day and Love and Thunder in 60 days on Disney plus
3) Global economic crisis, people don't have jobs or enough money to spend on luxury such as watching a movie in theatres.
Considering these factors, marvel studios has out done itself in gathering people to theatres and you can observe most fans intend to watch their movies in theatres even if it's Eternals. The Suicide Squad failed terribly at box office where as Shang Chi grossed a good box office in 2021 which is a global covid effected year.
Definitely no. Spiderman nwh made 1.9B, top gun maverick has just crossed 1.4B, hell even a stupid movie like jurassic world dominion crossed 1B. There is no excuse for marvel since other movies seem to be doing really good. Truth is Phase 4 is a mess and people are not interested anymore. They need to focus on story instead of MsheU. And no eternals was a huge flop and shang chi is like their second or third lowest grossing movie.

I think Top Gun Maverick is really masterpiece and deserves this much because literally no one dares to make such kind of movies in terms of realism and Tom Cruise is legend who made this possible. After so many years it doesn't feels forceful sequel.

We should also remember the fact also that full phase 4 was in covid and in many places there were lockdown and phase 4 movies has not released in China also for eg if spider man no way home and some other movie released in China and and there was no covid then this movie would have easily crossed infinity war in box office

But to be honest I don't get it , I mean for upcoming movies you will ruin your current phase characters there is no sense and meaning in that.
They could have easily hired a good writer and made a very good movie for Doctor Strange and Thor instead of bringing some hyped cameos and killing them in seconds or ruining movies with jokes that are not at all funny at times.
We have seen so many superhero movies that now just a good story with proper story telling is enough for the audience but marvel trying to use same comic or jokes type of formula for each movie will eventually result in its downfall.
