taking a stop in the middle of the video to just thank you for all your videos man. you are doing a great job! playing tau after 10 years and all the new rules are so confusing. have to get into the drone rules next. keep on what you are doing! Best wishes from Germany
I just started collecting this year, you have helped me so much in learning this game and my favorite faction. Definitely the best 40k TH-cam I've come across. If possible, I'm hoping you could do a demonstration of shield drones and the savior protocols, I always mess up my understanding of those. Thank you so much and best wishes
this set up would have been a great opportunity to show off the "frequency lock" stratagem (the seeker missile one), since you have a Sky Ray Gunship that can't see the speeder :)
Thx for clarifying. I get confused every time I read the rules cuz it says that the "fire markerlights" action finishes at the start of your NEXT shooting phase (aka your shooting phase on your next turn, not this one). But that is apparently not how it works, which makes much more sense. I keep coming back to this great video! Nice video :D
youre a God send brother. i just started playing Tau and reading the codex is like deciphering hieroglyphics..Now i need to figure out how drones move when they are attacched to a unit 🙃
How does it affect units in combat that have marker lights? I'm assuming the sentence that says "select one enemy unit within 36" of that model that would be an eligible target for that model if its unit had been selected to shoot" means that an infantry unit with drones can't marker light anything (as nothing is an eligible target as they can't shoot in combat) and the sky ray (if in combat) could marker light the unit it's in contact with? (or am I misreading it)
Just to clarify. As it came up in today's battle. I know it's late in 9e but while we wait... I was under the impression that because they're actions they don't have to be declared like shooting, so for example. If I wanted 3 m/l's on the squad, I would roll 1 d6 at a time until I had 3 then change who I targeted. Is this not the case??
If you use the stratagem, yes. You move in the movement phase (as normal) and then when you activate the stratagem at the end of the movement phase, the markerlights go out and you can move again.
nice and easy. I just went with black and made certain parts red. It made painting a whole bunch of fire warriors go pretty quickly. I added some white and gray for flair

Do you mean the Savior Protocols stratagem?
Very helpful, thank you!

They move as though they are part of the unit, since they are part of it.

Great demo! love it! For a rookie could you make the same vid on how to use drones when aTau unit is attacked

you didnt explain what the marker tokens actually do or did i miss it
Hey I'm a new 40K Tau I've been painting a collection for a while but now I'm starting to play. Just to clarify we could move the Pathfinders twice?
If you use the stratagem, yes. You move in the movement phase (as normal) and then when you activate the stratagem at the end of the movement phase, the markerlights go out and you can move again.
Hey! I love this colour scheme! What is it??
