Ayo guess who's back from their 8 month disappearance on TH-cam-
I promised myself to finish this animatic by the end of June so here it is
(Also me making an animatic that's more than a minute long :0)
Yes I'm still in this fandom and still obsessed with c!tubbo cause that boi needs to be talked about more
Also I worked on the shots/frames before that quackity and tubbo lore...so that little ending can be up to you interpretation-
I'm kind of proud of this animatic genuinely so yeah

I think that because Tubbo's development is so long-term, so subtle, so smooth, that they just don't realize how much has changed about him. Tubbo's arc is fantastic
Poor Tubbo man, he has been scarred psychically and mentally. He's seen his home blown up 3 times, and had so much pressure put on him that in the face of death he accepted it. This has accumulated to the point where he is protective of everything he holds close to him, and even made nuclear missiles, not for intimidation, but for defensive purposes.

He’s defending himself and his loved ones through intimidation. Like, when the Syndicate came to Snowchester, he made it clear to Technoblade that he has nukes. He’s not trying to hide it at all.
I don’t think he has any actual plans to use them, but he isn’t afraid to threaten to do so. And I’m sure that, if push comes to shove, he’ll use them.
He was fine to die because he just wanted it over with as his freewill

@@loverofscreens2411 honestly he became the same status of thoughs who hurt him however… he fixed it he became what he wished people were to him but he is so messed up that he becomes violent and defensive. Threatening quackity and being so deciencitized to death that he was fine when dream wanted to kill him a while back or when dream killed tommy. He was more unsettled by the fact tommy was alive

@@l.t.8769 screen rotation lock is just the button that allows your phone to either rotate or not rotate depending if you've pressed it and it's highlighted
it's usually when you drag the little settings thingy down from the top of your phone you'd see a thing with a rotation symbol and it's probably called "auto-rotate"

I also really enjoyed 3:04 segment of tubbo! His blue and nuclear eye is just so cool. I loved everything in here! I like how he matches the song lyrics, “I’m not the government...” trying to justify his own being, not a yes man or traitor, but just being himself.

*that is the best way I've ever heard it expressed,* Tubbo is used to war and violence, it was the only thing he knew like the back of his palm at one point; he followed it, he still does sometimes, he doesn't really know how to not be aggressive and on the offense, he doesn't know how to make allies or be peaceful, but _god_ does he want it, he wants to be happy and he wants to avoid conflict but he doesn't know how and sometimes even causes it himself. Michael, Ranboo, and Tommy ground him though, they bring him back, his family and those close to him remind him of what he wants and what he should stand for.

Ok some people are gonna disagree and be like “toMmY iS thE mOsT tRaGic” no he’s the one with the most trauma- tubbos story is really tragic, also everyone tries to make tubbo out to be mean and selfish JUST BECAUSE HE HAS ANOTHER FREIND. And you may be thinking: well he kicked Tommy out of his country, he did it because 1 he was pretty much being manipulated into doing it and 2 he was trying to protect his country so history didn’t repeat its self, also he had no idea that dream had framed him so can you really blame him? Honestly this is an incredible animatic and more people should have seen this!

@@nixeo2099 "tommy doesn't have nearly as much trauma" is a bit of a stretch- yeah tubbo has had a lot of trauma but tommy has had a shit ton aswell. I think they both have had equal amounts of trauma and tbh having trauma isn't a competition.
i mean i'd say their trauma is honestly pretty equal in terms of... everything. + (like the last person said) having trauma *isn't* a competition. everyone on the smp's stories are tragic in their own unique way, and while tubbo is an underlooked character in the grand scheme of things, like you said, tommy has a *ton* of f*cking trauma, that is still pretty big. i don't mean to start a debate here, but just because a character is bigger or has more people behind it, doesn't always mean that that character is just overlooked. c!tommy is looked at the way he is for good reason.

Real good! Tubbo is one of the real hidden gems on the Dream SMP, and this animatic really did it justice! The song choice was great, and the way his character design changed with time, then the final flashback at the very end- oof! Just chills man. Love it.

THATS c!Tubbo. THATS why I’m a c!Tubbo enthusiast. And it’s so wonderfully captured in the evolution of his design, in the song choice, the expressions, song synching, so on and so forth, amazing!!

I love how the first time Tubbo is sort of... distant. His expression is pretty blank, and you can't really tell much about how he's feeling. In my personal analysis of this, it almost seems like he's disassociating.
Then it hits him with -Okay (fuck this.)
And he repeats it, angry now. He's sick of being seen as all these negative things. Written over his face is what OTHERS see him as.
Techno? Government. We've heard him on multiple occasions address Tubbo as "The Government".
Tommy- at least for a period of time- (plus im sure others but Tommy is the bets I can think of at the moment during his Exile arc) thought Tubbo was Fucked Up. Just like Schlatt, exiling him.
I can't say a specific person for "Hateful", but it's definetly not out of the question.
But the whole "love is seeping out my pores"? No words over his face. His family is shown but no words. His family knows he loves them, but nobody else does. After all, very few people know of Michael, Ranboo and Him still haven't told anyone their MARRIED, and they have started to distance themselves with Wilbur around.

No words. Nobody realizes how bad he has it or how hard it is to be constantly forgiving these people who have hurt him.
He's forgiven Wilbur. Who made him president moment's before blowing the place sky high.
He's forgiven Techno, who has killed and PERMANENTLY SCARRED him.
We haven't seen him forgive Schlatt, but we can assume that if he forgave Will, he forgives Schlatt. In my opinion Schlatt didn't do nearly as bad as Wilbur. At least to Tubbo. Sure he gave Techno the command to kill Tubbo, but that's honestly the worst thing he's done to the teen. Moving on because I could talk about this for ages-
And then it moves on to his latest arc with Snowchester. He's pissed at everyone and isn't afraid to use the nukes at his disposal if necessary. He's threatened multiple people with it, most recently(? Notably.) Quackity. Yet he still is soft hearted for his family, energetic and happy around his husband and son.
Every time I have a creative block, I come here and go write fuckup characters. This is just so- UGH

This hits different after the final stream
Tubbo’s character is seriously so underrated and ignored. His story is so tragic and horrible, hes the one in the shadows who doesnt get the attention. He literally just accepts death when brought to it, except for when its not him, in which he immediately becomes defensive for that person. (In the case that person is his friend)
This shows that Tubbo, just as much as anyone, isn’t someone that should be pushed aside, or someone who’s problems “aren’t as bad as [insert name]” or “doesn’t have problems”. Are all of his actions excusable? Depending on your morals and how you see things, maybe. Within his morals and what he’s been through, someone can’t really say “well he deserves to be punished or needs to be brought down.” Unless they know how he feels.

This is amazing! C!Tubbo and C!Eret are my underrated favorites of the DSMP so it is wonderful to see someone acknowledge everything our Bee Boy went through. Great work! I especially love the poses and expressions at the end. How Tubbo is almost manic with fake apathy by the end of it all.

Ah yes Fire Drill (one of my favorite songs) + dream smp (one of my current hyperfixations)
Oh I don't know ANYTHING about this fandom but I'm highly invested in this character now lol
I feel like a lot of people gloss over Tubbo’s trauma, he’s had a lot of it, being a pushover during l’manburg, being blown up and constantly on work during manburg, becoming President not at your choice directly after your country gets blown up, having the stress of presidency, having to exile your best friend, thinking he committed (not live), and then reuniting and getting your country blown up again, and then thinking you’re gonna die (during the final disc war)
Honestly Tubbo created nukes because he finally had a stable life with a canonic husband and kid and was afraid that if he wasn’t prepared another war would start and he would have nothing to defend themselves with, that’s why he does a lot of the things he now does in the canon.
The character designs are amazing
This felt like a love letter to Tubbo's lore and I absolutely loved it. Incredible song choice, incredible character designs and art- thank you for making this!

Tubbo's character is one of my favorites. His background has so many layers, I love his lore!
SOMEONE FINALLY USED MELANIE MARTINEZ'S MUSIC FOR THE DSMP. MY LIFE IS COMPLETE AND I CAN DIE HAPPY
I know everyone's already said this, but this song goes way too well with this.
From using the first two choruses to set up the two events that exposed Tubbo to the concept of nukes, to the entire bridge matching up so well with Tubbo trying to validate Snowchester and his feelings/existence after Doomsday with "I am not the government
, I am not the fucked up men, I am not a part of anything that is hateful. Love is seeping out my pores, I don't hold anger anymore. Even for people who hurt and betray me." This is somewhat true, he forgave most people who have hurt him in the past, Techno is a good example since he literally took Tubbo's second life (for clarification Tubbo was okay with it and forgave him until Quackity manipulated him into the whole butcher gang thing).
The heterochromia with the nuke symbol was super fucking cool. And just the chorus going from being about L'manberg's demise to Tubbo starting to follow the same pattern is genius. Along with the detail that Tubbo's eyes changed after Doomsday (maybe due to it even) because they were changed when he was held hostage by Dream- WHICH ALSO HAS AMAZING LYRIC PLACEMENT. "It kills, I wish the best for you
and you think I ignore you too, but, really, I'm tryna live my own life, and be present more, and so should you, it's alright to." for when Tubbo is telling Tommy and it's alright if Dream kills him and that Tommy should live and all that AUGH genius.
The line "Calling me words I'm not, painting a picture that's false" matching up with the whole 'traitor' thing works so well and it even wraps around to when the bridge goes "I am not a part of anything that is hateful" and one of the words calls him Schlatt.
The entire second verse is fucking PERFECT. "We're on the same side, if I'm honest with you, you just run and hide." which is exactly how Tubbo feels and what Tommy did. "I'm speaking now so hear me out (Shut Up)" when Tubbo finally decided to talk to Tommy after his exile but Tommy just refused to listen, that background vocal was perfect.
And then the very end "I'm tryna live my own life, and be present more, and so should you, it's alright" lining up with every 'version' of Tubbo signifying he was trying to forget his past or just focus on the here and now was icing on the fucking cake.
The details in this are amazing, like Tommy having the braid when he was with Techno, and just- augh so much more. I don't know if you can tell but I love this x'D
c!tubbo is truely a spectacular character. all he was trying to do is help but each time he would succeed something would happen that shook him off. and al of that lead o him moving far away and keeping all the things he cares about close and protected. all he tried to do was the right thing. btw i absalutly love your character designs and this anamatic is possibly my new favorite

After Tommys last stream this goes perfect with the story and also hits a lil different than before
I love the designs in this so much, and the subtle changes as the story goes on.
Like Tommy's later hairstyle sort of being a mix of techno's and dream's, showing the influence. Like I may be reading too much into details, and just projecting some shit, when it was chosen as a neat design thing. But the plaits as a SBI thing or like an association with techno, if Ranboo's one is meant to be the syndicate. And just how the kids grow, unconsciously shaping themselves after the people who wielded power over them. Ignore my rambling lmao. Got to love overanalysing shit.

I think that tubbo is one of the most balanced character between kindness and rudeness, through the whole disc war he was helping tommy even tho it was not his problem and also created l’manburg with Wilbur to give the people of dream SMP a home where they would be free
When shlatt became president he became his assistant and when other character would have appreciated this he tried to help his friends that were exiled by risking his own life and helped during the revolution
Then when he became president he tried to do things right and even had to exile his best friend for the benefit of l’manburg

Not to mention he doesnt get any credit for anything and gets treated like a joke. He isnt even considered a founder of l'manburg. People mocked his presidency, and even now quackity tries to walk over him. He builds walls, and nukes to male himself feel safe. and right now ranboo seems to be the only one getting that.

Ok but like the shot where tubbos eyes fully covered the screen at like 3:43 is so pretty to me because I like how the eyes are very bright and neon and the rest is darker so it make the eyes the center of attention and I just think it looks so cool and beautiful
A lot of people draw Tubbo with the radioactive symbol in one of his eyes (normally the one on the side with the scars from the firework). I personally head canon that the firework ruined his original eye and he got a prosthetic to replace it and since it is a fake eye he got to chose what it looked like and instead of doing what most people do and get one that looks like the eye you still have he chose his to have the radioactive symbol as the iris instead.

T he ‘I am not the goverment’ part and everything after the animation suddenly seems like Tubbo has finally given up on the being kind, happy, chaotic, loyal, innocent kid everyone wants him to be, and starts finally telling people what he thinks of them.
Edit: also just remembered the most recent lore and I just gotta say, right now is the perfect time for a Tubbo that is completely done with everyone’s shit, and starts showing people how he really feels. Preferably by blowing everyone (and a one mile radius around them) who ever hurt him and Ranboo, and maybe Tommy too.
