Hi friends, 👋🏽
I hope you like the new video, my fav part is where one of the bush dogs is doing a handstand to mark its territory. 🤸🏻 2:24min
P.S.: Don't forget to check out "How to save a species when there are only two females left": th-cam.com/video/rqjVusKfIDU/w-d-xo.html
what's that quick squirrelly thing that they chased? a kawati or something? kinda need subs for these exotic names...
gotta put this mark as high as possible
@@alveolate Hi, that was a coati! :)
Subtitles are already on the way.
@@alveolate It's called a Coatimundi

This is what I love bout this channel, they do stories on animals that others don't. I've never even heard of a bush dog but it looks like a an interesting animal. Thanks Terra Mater for introducing this animal to me and plenty of others.
Hi Steve, thanks for your kind words!
It's awesome to hear that you appreciate our work. 🤗
Bush dogs are pretty cool, right?
@Dominic We totally agree! 🤓
Surprisingly, their closest living relative is the long-legged maned wolf.
when you isolate same species in very different 2 ecosystem this is the results lol
They look like land evolved otters 🤩
@@suryananth6970 no, it‘s maned wolves. South american canids are closest related to each other
It's kind of hilarious, but gut genetics are an amazing science!
Maned wolves are beautiful I saw one at my uncles farm in northern minas gerais Brazil in the cerrado grassland they live on
Fun fact: Bush dogs are famous for doing handstands to mark their territory. 🤸🏻
Okay now that’s funny *handstand dog*
Niiiiice!😆
@@HelloAllie so do i! 🤣🤣🤣
doing cartwheels spraying vinegar every place pigbear skunkdog
Me
Kudos to the Cameramen who were able to find and document this rare species
Yes we really do have an amazing team out there filming for us! 🐶
I have neither seen nor heard mentioned before these 'bush dogs'; making this video a bit of a win. What unique faces these little dogs possess.
We are always trying our best to bring you videos of topics you might have never heard of or animals never seen before 🐶
I wasn't even aware that such an animal existed...😱😱
Thank you Terra Mater for introducing this new animal, at least to me...😇😇
Yeah they have thought to be extinct! We are so glad that they aren't! 🐶
You are very welcome! We are very happy to have such a loyal subscriber like you! We do notice when someone makes an effort every week to write to us 😉
The spread of coyotes into central and south america along with marauding packs of feral dogs puts these lil fellas at serious risk.
Coyotes are native from Alaska to panama and maybe even northern Colombia they been able to thrive cause of the way they adapt to urban environments I see them all the time here in Florida when driving at night, they prefer quiet neighborhoods with lot of tree cover and plants like coconut grove and coral gables in Miami I’ve heard some neighbors even leave food for them at night
I thinked this video was about a rare breed of domestic dog because of the anatomy of the canid. But now, im surprised and fascinated with this creature! Its so incredible and rare looking!
Yeah they really are amazing little creatures 🐶
To me it looks like a prehistoric bear dog only tiny.
I fully agree there! 😁
I thought the same exact thing.
They have a couple of different features of other animals indeed 🐶
They look real cute until you realise they are more than that you and any interaction won't be a happy one either
For you or for them
Just hope these rare species live in protected areas
Yes this really is a big goal! Especially because they are an endangered species already 🐶
That's the first time I have ever heard of a Bush dog. Really cute. It's face reminds me of the ferret my husband had
They are indeed really cute, and smart 🐶
being hard to find by humans seems like a good evolutionary strategy
For them it definitely is/was - but if it wasn't for our amazing film crew, we couldn't tell you about them, so kudos to them 🐶
I’m OBSESSED!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
No wonder, they are very cute 🐶
I'm getting familarize with new creatures every time thanks Teramatter!
This is great to hear! That really is a big goal of ours! To educate you about our amazing planet! 🐶
"Huh, such a cool animal, I'm surprised they haven't been domesticated..."
*"Their urine smells strongly of vinegar."*
"-- okay that explains that"
I mean, i've heard that indigenous people had domesticated this dog before, not 100 percent sure
White vinegar is actually good for neutralizing the scent of pet urine from carpet, etc. Bush Dog urine probably neutralizes other animals urine odors in their territory.
@@JesgateOnDown That...makes a lot of sense. Good Deduction.
They really are! Yeah might be, but what a cool fact that their nick-name is "vinegar hound" 🐶
Wow, thank you so much! I never ever heard of this animal and such a relief that it still exists
We are very happy to be ablate provide you with this rare content! So are we! 🐶
I’ve never heard of them. A South American wild dog 🐕
thank you. I will like and subscribe!
So fucking cool. After hearing about them, I think it would be as cool to see them in the wild as anything out there.
They really are! Yeah but they are extremely shy creatures! 🐶
How am I just finding out that these "dogs" exist? They look more like tasmanian devils or shrunken down grizzly bears than dogs..
They really do look like a mix of a couple of different animals 🐶
AMAZING AS A WILD RANGER IN AFRICA NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS GOOD THEY ARE AWAY FROM HUMANS THE GREATEST DANGEROUS ANIMAL ARE HUMANS TAKE MY WORD KINDLY
Fantastic to learn about! Never seen these guys on film
We are very happy to have such an amazing film crew that provided us with this material 🐶
I had no idea such canids existed anywhere. The location is also a surprise!
I love Terra Matter
Thank you so much Kellel! This means the 🌎 to us! 🥰
Omg I didn’t know about these
Their so cool and unique
I hope they do continue to thrive in the wild
At CHESTER ZOO..BUT THEY MOVED THEM TO ANOTHER ENCLOSURE LOL SO HAVEN'T SEEN THEM SINSE...YET...
Yeah you are definitely not the only one who didn't know about them!
We hope so too! Especially since they are already an endangered species! 🐶
I love this channel
It was great to see footage of Bush dogs! Really cute and fascinating animals and as you said, so rarely seen or filmed. Props to you guys and keep it up! 💯
They really look like Honey badgers..
They look like a mix of a couple of different animals 🐶🐻
I love you guys so much. Keep up the amazing work 👍🏼
Oh you are too kind! Thank you! We appreciate you very much!
We will! 🥰
"What scientists DO know is that they are cute AF"
That is true indeed! They are very cute! 🐶
Pausing 1:15 to say I love this music with this info with these shots. Loving this video so, so much. The details are appreciated
Wow thank you so much Miloh for your kind words! They mean a lot to us! 🐶
I'll be honest I didn't even know these existed till now
I think you are not the only one! They were even thought to be extinct, so even scientists were surprised they are still wandering the woods! 🐶
I never knew this existed.
Now you do 🐶😉
Ive had to take a look in wikipedia to know where they are from, since Ive never seen it. And funny enough they are from Brazil and so am I. Never seem them, lol
I have a pug/dachsund /chihuahua that looks remarkably similar to that dog.
They are beautiful
They really are! 🐶
Never heard of this creature, looks so weird it almost looks like it’s cgi 🤯
They are indeed unique looking 🐶🐻
The only thing I want is to not to get them extinct.
How did you manage to get this much amount of footage of this animal?
This really is a high priority!
We have amazing film crews all over the world filming for our feature productions, they really deliver amazing footage like this one 🐶 kudos to them!
Hi nice video
Hey, thanks!
Good content.. Rarely animal species
Thank you Reynold 🐶
Great description
Thank you Bryan! 🐶
What i like this channel they always bring a new meal in the table.
You mean we bring up new stories of animals you have never heard of? That is one of our goals! 🐶
Yez mam you got it right!
Awesome ❤
I like this commentator.
We love her as well! Sophie is a great narrator! You can hear her voice in many of our videos 🐶
I ve never heard nor seen this till now
And? Did you like what you saw? They are really cute right? 🐶
@@lenafromterramater3690 yes I did and thanks to u

Thanks, Lee!
This is the first time I see this species, o,0
They are great aren't they 🐶
Just saw two of these outside of my development in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
No way! How cool is that?! Did you take pictures?
@@terramater It was a night, and I was driving in my development, Busca Vida in Abrantes. There is the ocean to the east, around 1000 meters, and many lakes in my development. I will keep my eye open for these little guys.
So cool! Thank you! If you ever take a photo you can post on Ig and tag us 💚
Cute dog, some rich people might already had them in cage 🙈
Let´s hope they don't and let them be free! 🐶
It's so cute 🥺yet a great predator😳
They are indeed 🐶
It looks like a tropical shiba inu ancestor or something.
Assuming that this is a captive group. Where was it filmed?
Woww... Woowwww loveit... knew to me
Thank you so much! We love them as well! They are so cute! 🐶
I don’t even know bush dogs existed?!
Are you happy that you do now? 🐶
they have such smug expressions
The wild dog with super short legs that looks like a badger is a close relative of the wild dog with super long legs that looks like a fox on stilts...
Semi aquatic doggos :^D
They kind of look like little bears. Feral coorgis.
I would like to know where they get all this footage for such a rare animal and relatively small channel
Cool
Thanks 🐶
cooooooooooooool
The background music sounds a lot like Crash Bandicoot's.
The cutest mean K nine dogs. Rarity and Not easy to find. 😃
Interesting
Indeed! 😊
where do you get the footage from?
Most of our footage is shot by our amazing teams that are working all over the world! We often snag short stories out of our feature films and documentaries. If you are interested in them check out our website 🐶😉
Unlike the metatherian carnivores that preceded them, the bush dogs have avoided extinction by being small, adaptable and filling an omnivorous niche. So they’re not dependent on a few prey species for survival.
It's like a Shiba had a baby with a wolverine
They really do look like a mix of different kinds of animals 🐶🐻
Go 🐕
bush dogs are bushier than the average dog
🤔
Not the capybaras! D:
Reminds me of Corgis.
They really do have some features of Corgis 🐶
😍
Third comment, i am proud of myself
👌👌👌👌
otter-looking eyes
Their coat color match the jungle floor and river...
I’m skeptical that they have an alpha pair, since that model of family unit has been disproved in other canines. Instead I hypothesize that their system is more based on age.
Cute but dangerous, nice 😁
They are indeed 🐶
Hii 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Hi Thor! 👋🏽
@@terramater ☺
Was there really no more to be said about these awesome creatures?
As mentioned in the video, they were said to be extinct and since they are so shy there are still to be investigated more 🐶
Why so many people talking about getting them as pets and trafficking them??? 😐
now yall just making this up i was kinda with for the bush dogs but what the heck is a kawate
They can run backwards
Sasquatch*, champions in hide and seek.
They really are 🐶
NO NOT THE CAPPYBARA
They are so cute right?! 😊

Not really, I think "dogs, wolves, jackals and foxes" is pretty comprehensive. What canine isn't at least one of those four things?
There are dholes and dingoes and some Asian canids are very racoonesque
Bears?
@@tygill7401
Asian wild dogs, racoon dogs, and canis familiaris. All dogs.
@@oneshothunter9877
Bears are caniforms but not canines.
@@oliverwilson11
Aha!
Thanks for informing me.
I didn't know, didn't check with My Friend, Google.
Can I domesticate one?
Capybaras are the best animal in the world. Look them up if you don’t immediately believe me
They really are very cute indeed! 😊
Alpha male and female...are you sure it's not just the head of family, mom and dad? That's how wolves function, and the scientist who described 'alpha member' later on want to correct, saying it was just the parents/eldest leading.
They are not necessarily the parents of the whole pack 🐶
Adorably cute dogs. But if their urine smells of vinegar, I'm not sure I'd like one as a pet. (Yes I know, they are wild animals and shouldn't be kept as pets).
It took me seeing the word written to understand that she was saying "canine" (kay-9 not kaynin)
Now you know 😉
It's the evolution stage of seals before they took to the water
You mean because of their small legs and long bodies? 🐶
if you ever go hiking and see 5 of these dogs i advise you to run like hell.. they can kill you
i know breeder cant wait to snatch them away to domesticated

Father paterdalle jagder cain terrier etc etc sbt apbt

I don’t think there name matches there habitat.
Why do you think that? 🐶
I want one so bad now 😍 get it while it's still a puppy and get a baby mongoose too they'll be my best friends
