People upset at the extreme wealth disparity in this country, and the systems and policies from both parties that keep it that way, don’t want everyone to be poor. That’s either an extreme misunderstanding of the situation or a disingenuous argument.
Systems designed to take money from producers by punishing them through excessive taxation in order to redistribute it to those that don't have as much does nothing to but impoverish more people and make politicians more powerful. It's the governments job to protect Liberty and to provide for the common good. That does not give them to right to legalize theft in the name of fixing disparity.
@@trashtocashpodcastoh lord. I hope you don’t use any public services if you’re so opposed to taxes. Don’t use the fire department, police, public roads, etc. What a joke of a response that doesn’t even deal with what I actually said. Give me a break. We don't have anywhere near excessive taxation, and we had a lower percentage of people in poverty when the upper tax rate was higher.
Very true what you said about Rod and Mike. I had the pleasure of meeting Rod at dinner with Mike & Sam a few weeks ago. Honestly they are some of the biggest hearted people I have ever met. I learned a lot from Rod just in that short time. I really enjoyed the evening. Dave… I missed buying the comic collection you were selling. I should have known and just paid the full price. I sent an offer and note that I was hoping the offer made up for shipping since I am in the same state. I don’t think you read it. LOL. Anyway, I wasn’t that upset. 😂 Great episode guys. Thanks for the laughs.
The favorite podcast about or not about reselling.. lol My favorites Dave, Cary and Kevin. Tons of chuckles! I love when it's trash to cash time. Hey, you guys need a theme song! Take a vote on which it should be.
Dave, we have 5 kids in a 1500 sq. Ft house. It’s a little too cozy 😂 Honestly though, I’m with you. While I’m ready for an upgrade, I like the closeness that a smaller house forces you to have.
Kevin....waaaaaay out of touch with the way insurance screws middle class and poorer folks who lose everything to flood especially in the southeast. I have family that went through Katrina, Andrew and we went through Sandy up here in the northeast. Water is THE WORST and we are priced out of flood insurance even on the rare occasion it is offered. My thoughts are with those hurting right now.
I’m well aware. It was a rhetorical question followed by two pieces of sarcasm. If you watch it again I think you will pick up on both. Many forms of insurance have become little more than a scam and it’s getting worse especially with government mandated insurance. I have said it multiple times on multiple videos. I was playing off of prior statements that some may not have heard before.
It's crazy cause Kevin was alive when the government kept this stuff in check was that communism? No but thanks to capitalism insurance banks gas and health all do what they want and price how they want. Further more he was here when yes capitalism and "free market" sent all our jobs overseas and left us in the situation we are in today. Thankfully more people do not think like him and are looking for change.
Topic idea: How do you prepare to go sourcing? Do you research garage sales, address, etc.? How much cash do you take? What else are you always sure to take with you? What is your best tip to make sure you do to prepare for sales?
I don’t get what all these people are doing in the bathroom that you have the time to watch stuff on your phone. Takes me like 1 minutes to poop, lmao.
Oh wait... the Mercari thing. I sell about 5 things a week over there. Sometimes it lags but I feel like they do maintenance on the site (sound familiar?) and it slows down. I really appreciate that platform.
I just got electricity back yesterday. I'm in SW Virginia, just NW of Roanoke. There are people still that haven't gotten theirs back. I won't ever complain about it though. People have lost everything they owned in other states. I just lost some food in fridge/freezers. That's nothing in comparison.
Here in Lake Placid NY, you're in the Adirondacks. Cell service is very limited. Einstein Tesla drivers fail to realize their Tesla runs completely off an app on their expensive cell phones. Hence, they call 9-1-1 for help. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey I’m a ShopCommons fan girl so ignore me Dave 😅 but as a heavy whatnotter we LOVE SC. I can move the stuff that I seem to never get around to selling on eBay allowing me more time to focus on WN. We’re hopeful that we can have our eBay stores down to less than 100 items (and all pretty specialized stuff) 6 months down the road-SC has been a huge catalyst in that-and we’ve barely even scratched the surface of what we plan to do with it.
Halfway through and gotta run, nothing on the baseball and basketball cards going up as of yesterday, Ol Betting Charlie, and Dikembe.............Going thru mine later ✌🏻💚🙏🏻
Ok that ended weirdly. But anyway, talk about an offensive sale, sold a book called “saint among savages: the life of Isaac Jogues”, from 1961 , sold for 29.95. Honestly was nervous about listing it. It was a true story about a priest that lived amongst the “savages”. Yikes. Sold on Etsy within a week of listing.
Absolutely downsize! Contentment is key. When you don't care what others think and you live below your means with no debt... You won't believe how content and happy you become... You won't ever go back.
Wow this episode ended abruptly.. what happened. And in case you didn’t see, Frank Fritz from American Pickers passed away today (Tuesday). You guys mention them from time to time when you’re out picking. So sad
@@CommonwealthPicker buy it now gives it the ability to sell that day, while auctions mean it’s not going to sell for a week, minimum. But auctions give, in my opinion, the best chance to earn the most.
There will always be just a little bit of scum when it comes to resellers profiting from others lack of knowledge, mistakes or misses. It's more of an ethical issue, so I get it. I buy and resell too and if I can find a treasure or a profitable item I'm flipping it too. But my success is not based on taking advantage of others, unfortunately some resellers survive that way.
I hit 30 next year on reunions too, I've never done one. I did about 600 last month on Mercari. Top brands can price at anything they want and sell. "Scalper" is a pejorative term. A reseller is someone who buys something for the sole purpose of selling it to others. Walmart and Target are technically resellers. Personally, I don't care if someone calls me a scalper. If I see something hanging on a peg at Target that costs $1.18 and I know is selling for $85 on eBay, I'm buying it. I even participate in hobbies where identifying and complaining about scalpers is one of the main tenets of the hobby. lol
BREAKING NEWS: Someone saw kevin in the middle of tunica mississippi at todds junkyard with a full sleeve of bracelets looking for yard sales. The gas attendant nearby said he look disheveled and confused while smacking his lips every breath he took 😂

Any thing that involves work to make money Dave will say yes but at what cost. Dave will say what quality of life will that be. Sorry Dave your idea of quality life contains zero effect put forward by you and life doesn't work that way. You would think Kevins work ethic would wear off even a tiny bit on you but I guess not. Hell soon as you kind find an item the first thing out of your mouth is well I will have Tina find it later.

I’m in Oregon and getting insurance has gotten difficult due to fires. You either pay a high amount or go without (if you don’t have a loan).

I went to Lagoon in the late 70's. Loved the swimming pool that turned into huge waves. We also floated in Salt Lake and saw the Mormon Tabernacle.
Remember, an arrest record is not the same as a criminal record... thank God.

I like the serious side o Dave.
Dave, if you are going to live in a hurricane zone, maybe you should be in a home with wheels so you can drive away when the hurricane is coming.
My Mom was 44 when I was born!!
I am also a very young millennial
What happened at the end...
I'm a reseller, not a scalper. Scalpers are the ones who buy out retail items and then sell them at super inflated prices.

Definitely not quicker but possible for more money.
