Hey JD--My wife and I are joining a Beaches of Normandy tour for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and will be in Normandy from June 3-7. So if you see one of their busses and hear someone calling your name, it just might be me. Take care and god bless!
Might I make a suggestion? The Comanche Code Talkers of WW2 have a museum in Lawton, OK. They were the Army's Code Talkers at Utah Beach, D-day. The Navajo Code Talkers are well-known for the Marines, but not the Comanche for the Army. They were at the Battle of the Bulge and Hurtgen Forest. Please check them out.
If I had one wish left I’d wish 2024 be the year I do your whole list and meet all the guys especially you. My brain would explode and the nerdiness go sky high.
I am so very grateful for the work that you and Eric do. It is comforting to me for many reasons, one of which is that my father fought overseas in the 104th Inf. Div., Timberwolves.
Oh, one day I hope to get the opportunity to visit Normandy. Thank you guys for your passion, tireless efforts in the promotion & preservation of history. As a lifelong student I very much appreciate you guys.
We haven't finished enjoying ourselves, more great programs for 2024, for a hermit, I think you're moving quite a bit 👍👍Thank you for everything!! Alan from France.
I think I have met you at some point. I set up at militaria shows for 32 years. SOS Louisville, Dallas convention center, Southern militaire show in Irving Tx., Franklin civil war show, Tulsa show and many more.
Hopefully see you in Normandy in June. We’ll be travelling from Scotland by motorcycle. Staying for a week. We were there for the 70th and went back again in the summer of 2021. Let us know where you’ll be and we’ll say hi.
It absolutely kills me--KILLS me--that I can't be there for any of these incredible events in 2024. I'm just hoping that the events, tours, keeping coming in 2025. A grateful thank you for all you and everyone is doing to keep these moments from disappearing into the crevice of time. Thank you!
Hermits United! 😂🤣 Love your videos JD, got my dad and sister into watching your videos too. Keep up all the great work. Hope to make it to the Gettysburg museum sometime this year.
Hope you have a great time and put loads of video content on the site for those of us living outside the US! Enjoy your cold weather. I can’t wait for spring. 😂 🇬🇧
Hello JD,it would be really cool to meet you again in Normandy 😅maybe you remember the enthusiastic German guy with the paratrooper jacket in front of the DDay Experience museum...that was me😅 have a good time and thank you very much for your excellent videos🫡😎Kind Regards,Sonny
I know you like to go to actual battlefields, but if your ever in Illinois....a must see is the 1st Infantry Division museum at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. It was the estate of Col Robert McCormick who fought in the battle of Cantigny in WWI. Its spectacular. His estate home is a museum as well....some of the most beautiful grounds I have ever seen.
I really wish I could do the BOB tour in the spring. Unfortunately there's too many things in the way right now. I hope I have the opportunity in the future if they repeat the tour.
If you end up at Vierville Sur Mer on Omaha Beach, have a look on the small conrete ramp down to the beach next to the 5cm PaK casemate. You will see a bollard set in the concrete. This is actually the muzzle brake for the PaK 75/38 that was in the bunker half way up the hill. Very few people know about this remaining relic of D-Day that claimed a lot of American lives that day
I can't make any of those dates, but boy, would I love to do so & have the opportunity to meet you in person. Maybe some day there will be something historical happening here in Texas that you'll be covering. I love your channel & I can hope to anyway!
I will be headed to Normandy to jump in with the boys of the Round Canopy Parachute Team to honor the paratroopers from 80 years ago. Jumping into Duxford UK for an air show on 1 June and then 2 June flying across the channel in a formation of C47’s to jump into Carentan DZ. It would be cool to say hello.
might drive down to L'Ville for that depending on work schedule. guess its better then just showing up at your house lol. at least i saw Eric at his work place already.
Hi JD! Im from Germany and love your Channel!! Thanks for that! Is there any chance to meet you at the Legacy Tour in Summer maybe in Berchtesgaden or so? Would be great!! Blessings🇩🇪

JD you do you don't listen to other people. Right now you have 582 thousand people who love you and feel your doing a great job. This is a great channel, do it your way. Thanks.
Do I have to be a teacher to attend in July in New Orleans? I missed you by two days at the Eagles Nest last October, would like to meet you as I am nearby in Baton Rouge LA
With no reaction, i will remove this sunday. In september there will be a re-excavation of captain Hamilton Coolidge grave in France. Now located very close to a river and because of erosion this will all soon disappear. This will be a private event with family, important guests and invited guests. If you like i can arrange that you can be there. Bruce (supervisor American cemetery Romagne sous Montfaucon), Maarten otte (owner World War One museum in Montfaucon D’Argonne and author of many books about American intervention in ww1) and myself (living in Romagne sous Montfaucon) will be there. I can give you more info in private if you like.

Great idea. Have heard about them & would like to learn more as only you team & you can do!😊
I had no idea. The small details are the most important. Thanks for the info.
Yes, great idea,

Millers Town, Pennsylvania, would be nice. My ancestors established the settlement by erecting two mills on the water.

I go to D-day i may see you there. Nice video.
💯❤️👍👊
To each his own; I despise winter and cold weather, love summer.
How about Atlanta?
I can't make any of those dates, but boy, would I love to do so & have the opportunity to meet you in person. Maybe some day there will be something historical happening here in Texas that you'll be covering. I love your channel & I can hope to anyway!

Maybe we will meet in Normandy. Will be there for 2 weeks around the 80th anniversary including my ww2 Jeep.
WIR SIND DAS VOLK WATP 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸👌
I LOVE WINTER! I HATE SUMMER, TOO.
You guys should come to Camp Perry in Port Clinton at the end of July for the national rifle matches. Allot of cool history there. Check it out
I’m a hermit too. It’s 19 here in West Virginia
I’m anxiously awaiting for some global warming 😂
Still kicking myself over missing the date for your visit to Bastogne last year with Eric. Only 120 miles drive for me.
I'm sure that we'll be back. :)
Cool
Hi JD! Im from Germany and love your Channel!! Thanks for that! Is there any chance to meet you at the Legacy Tour in Summer maybe in Berchtesgaden or so?
Would be great!! Blessings🇩🇪
Thanks! I (JD) won't be on the Legacy Tour personally, but Erik and Matt will.
@@TheHistoryUnderground thanks for your reply!!
Do you know if it would be possible to meet them?
Blessings!
Come down to Australia, lots of WW2 history here.

I live in Normandy, so I'll try to meet you on D-Day events in June. Let us know where you plan to go on this day.

Watched tons of your episodes. Hoping to run into you at the SOS.
Awesome! See you there.
I love the videos, but I don't like the weather. It is KHOLD. I am getting used to the humid Summers. At least it's better than 9 degrees fahrenheit.
I don’t know if JD knows but the website for SOS says February 21-25th. Is that correct? On this video description it mentions February 23-25th.
The 21st & 22nd are days for set up and members. The 23-25th are the days for the general public.
Come back to Maine!
On my list.
Stop by Brunswick and see JL Chamberlain's house and grave while you're there. Worth it. @@TheHistoryUnderground

Would love to meet you in LA, but not a history teacher.
I’d imagine you’ll be visiting the National WW2 museum will in New Orleans?
Yes. I might talk to Chris and see about doing another meet up of some kind while we're down there.
I'd be up for that@@TheHistoryUnderground
An actor? Why would I want to travel with him?
Well dang. Sounds like you may want to just stay home. 😅
Come to Alaska…we could go visit the only US territory that was occupied by the Japanese and the only US land that a world war was fought on!
I thought Show of Shows was,a Sid Caesar tv show. LOL
DAMN, no Texas locations
Louisiana.....kind of close. I may talk to Chris and see if we can maybe do some sort of get together one evening.
You don't do heat, humidity, and bugs well? I gits it.
Eric Dorr is sort of the Mary Poppins of history. I swear one time he is going to pull one of Hitler's lamps from a back pack.
Ha! So you are going to find this episode hilarious: th-cam.com/video/oMPRnNJoE10/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5IpkB9OVKCMWzEIU
