    thats so cool that you can do this with just chopped leaves instead of needing a node! Very cool thanks

    Thank you so very much! I was about to lose my first due to non stop rain and no sunlight to dry up their draining pot. I went to investigate to find no roots! I’m so relieved to find your video! Thank you again!

    Hi Claire, Love your videos you are so easy to listen to. I've just sent of for some pilea watermelon leaves from etsy, which I was going to propagate in water now after listening to you I just don't know !? Maybe I'II do the 2 different ways 🤔

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! If you want to try both ways you could always take a half leaf cutting, propagate the top half in soil and the bottom half/stem in water? I personally find soil the fastest, but water can work well too 💚

    Thanks!

  • @barbie_t
    @barbie_t 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    How much time do they take to root & grow into true plants ?
    Is there much time difference when on the heat mats compared to just indirect sunlight?
    Btw, I just found your channel and am really enjoying it 💚

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So this process took just over a month for me from when I originally filmed the "how to" bit of this video - they're pretty quick once they get going. Indirect light is fantastic, the heat that a propagation mat provides just intensifies this, encourages humidity, and just helps to get the process going faster. It's fine without a heat mat too, just maybe expect to have to wait a few more weeks!

      I have prop boxes, lights and heat mats, I was just curious about how much difference it makes for these. I truly appreciate your help, thanks again 💚

    When I slice the leaf into halfs,
    Does it matter what direction I put those cutting into soil? Does it have to be a certain side,or doesn't matter which I place into ground? Really need to clarify this. If you'd be so kind to reply Claire, I never done tgis before and could use the wiser input
