I once was tricked by a hunter who had the visit standby motion. He showed Joseph(photographer) appearing in the waiting room, so I was ready to do some tight kiting, but then whenever the heart turned purple and I saw who the hunter was, IT WAS FREAKING NIGHTWATCH!

Ithaqua is cute like a moth but also acts like one in the sense that you can be peacefully decoding and he appears out of bumfuck nowhere from across the map.

Tip for NW: yes, his hit box is very short, but like geisha his hit box is focused on his right side. If you need to reach out for the survivor but can’t use your heavy attack, jerk the camera so his right side is closer- also works if you’re being juked

I do think his best counter is batter since his bats cancel his skill and give distance to take windows
All stunners are good counters to him. Little Girl is the one I find most annoying to deal with when using him tho. She's almost always for escape while the others are generally used to harass. Makes them easier targets.

Imo he’s alr. As survivor I can kite him long enough and as a hunter I can chase down survivors pretty quickly so I’d say he’s pretty balanced

Nah, even if i was a survivor I'd still laugh my a$$ off when meeting ithaqua, he's so broken. I love him

I do think he needs to be nerfed, he can vacuum, go through pallets, dash like geisha, and his recovery speed is insane…
He counters quite a number of survivors, and you barely can Create distance against him due to how many quirks he can do.
If walls/tight kite is his counters, you might be unfavorable sometimes cuz you can barely transition to the right area for him, or be lucky that you are in that area or else your doomed.. he can also bring windows to block if he always finds window annoying../ blink..
Anyway he is very equipped in my opinion compared to other hunters.
You may be able to kite him, but not for long. It literally makes you wish that the night watch your playing against is horribly bad/inexperienced then maybe you have a chance of kiting.
Although I only ever play 2v8 now, so it may be just a bit different during actually match..
That’s my take on him, although maybe fun to play as. And I see why almost everyone chooses him in 2v8
he can't dash through walls/windows/pallets which still makes geisha a better pick than him

So to make a counter.
The survivors he counters are those that stun or just run away. Those that can make distance and use it effectively can absolutely trash him. A list of, Batter, little girl, prospector, priestess, and so on. He's not too hard to counter with these characters and I've gotten almost trashed by them (and that's in LOW tier, I imagine the survivors in higher tiers are even better)
Walls and tight kite are not his only counters. And honestly his recent dash nerf has messed with one of his counters. But for his slow pull run out and diagonally like a river current to swim out safely, walls help but if you don't run to the side out of it, it won't matter what you do. Avoid early pallet drops to disallow jump charge and don't stand next to the window so he can't just jump tag you or block it. Fast pull is heavily telegraphed and it's a run to the side away from getting yoinked. And dash you just run towards him (keeping in mind his dash is shorter now and will put you closer to him than before).
Well equipped yes but also keep in mind a knowledgeable photographer can put a damage state on the entire survivor team without even interacting with them. And being unequipped for knowledge gathering or location he can be hidden from VERY easily. I've gone almost entire matches without seeing people because they utilize lockers and coordination to a scary level.
In short, Night watch isn't broken but he IS different. He has a lower skill floor and higher skill ceiling than most hunters mostly because you need to play against him differently than "make distance get away" or "360 juke him under his feet" keep a mid to low range, side run winds, reverse dashes, and if you have stuns or push back using them at the right time is DEVASTATING. Pretty closely to infinitely looping a bad killer and at least getting distance on a great one. He isn't even top pick in E-sports and the most I see of him is people trashing others that don't play well against him. He doesn't give you time to think and takes practice. Play him a bit and enjoy the wins while he ranks, let me know how he feels later. And see if you can find how survivors keep away from you effectively. Apply those yourself and have fun =)

Yk I actually find it funny cause I only recently started playing idv again and I was like WHOS THIS COOL DUDE!? and I was thinking of getting him, and then I saw him in a match, and then another and then another, and him being in every match isn't the point of why I'm saying this lol. The point is that my teams wON everytime he was hunter, so I didn't have high hopes for him tbh but he still looked cool, so I decided to get him anyways after testing out his abilities. AND NOW I WIN EVERY MATCH WITH HIM and now I'm seeing all these videos of people hating him and wanting him to be nerfed and tbh I think he should be slIGHTLY nerfed cause I do have my hard days XD. BUT DAMN like I had no CLUE how incredible he his because I literally had like no problem with this guy in any of my matches as survivor💀🤣
Exactly this. I win every game with him because I'm not brain dead in low tier. And win with other hunters as well. It's not just him. But I've had good survivors trash the shit out of me or almost win. Only coming back due to some clever applications of wind and they never seem to expect the window/ pallet jump. But seriously no one knows how to play against him. Glad you and your friends figured him out and don't have issues with him.
