NAD makes garbage, so it seems. There is no guarantee that a new NAD CD player will play, direct from the box. I have an NAD C538 that has never played a disc once. The display will tell you it's loading forever, then there is eventually a TOC Error on every disc, no matter what quality. I would strongly caution anyone against ever buying anything with the NAD name on it.

I haven’t had one issue. Not with my NAD receiver, CD player, or cassette deck.
