  • 3 UPDATES: Sister Blows Through All Her Money & Sneaks Off With My Cards So I Go To Her House With The Cops & They Find More Than I Ever Imagined... She Isn't Gonna Like This!
    Do you want me to share your story? Kindly email it to me at rgirlsubmissions@gmail.com and if I like your story I'll feature it on my channel! :)
    My sister has struggled a lot in her life. She was clinically diagnosed with depression at a young age and since our parents died she has been going to therapy to cope with it. For the past four years she was doing really great and got clear from her therapist for handling her own matters. So I finally let her have full control of her assets and even gave her her part of the inheritance. As a 23 year old I didn't think she'd need constant supervision or check ins. But still I made sure to call her every week or two just to get a feel about how she's doing mentally and if she needs any help and not once did it seem like she was struggling.

    Good on her for calling the police immediately.

    Depression is not the same as being a drug addict. She’s an addict and can never be trusted. I would never let her in my home again.

    NEVER EVER do you deserve a drug addicts abuse. Cut her out completely. You do not owe her anything. Protect yourself. It can and will get much much worse. No contact.

      They will always love their addiction more than you the smart thing is just to cut them out and once they start stealing from you they're in too deep nothing you do will fix them unless you plan to spend a lot of money and time on rehab centers sometimes jail is good for getting someone clean

      An addict can't be helped unless they want to be helped. Sometimes that doesn't happen until they have hit rock bottom.

    Note for anyone who keeps cash around. You need a hidden bolted down safe. You also need a cheap safe with at most the amount you will let one person borrow from you at a time in it as a decoy.

    story 1, NTA. Its not surprising once the sister found out about the cops that she was going make a run for it. She refuses to face the consequences of her actions. sister isn't smart to begin with, the smart thing to do was turn herself in rather than trying to run away. Sooner or later she was going to be caught. Not surprised that she's trying to blame op for the trouble that she's in. Shows that she's toxic even when not on drugs.

    Not all drug addicts are alike but people who have tendencies towards anti social behavior or impulsiveness give functioning addicts a bad name lol
    I carried an addiction for 10 years. Never missed work, never stole, never got evicted. Fed and clothed my kid and made sure he had everything a kid his age should. It did destroy any thoughts of saving money or going on vacations and things like that but the day to day, everything looked normal.
    I believe there are waaay more addicts in the world than folks realize.

      100%, that’s called being a functional addict/functional drunk/etc.. it is waaaaaaaay more common that people would ever believe!

    Sometimes in life you have to give up because love is not enough 💔 so one have to know when to walk away.
    OP i understand that you have reached the point with your sister, until she hit rock bottom and have to stand up to faced consequences of her actions.
    Some people never learn how to manage their own life. Leopard don't change their spots, so OP please move on and realizes that you couldn't make her change their ways. Good luck OP 👍

      I asked my stepson who used to have a drug problem what he wished he'd known beforehand that he knows now as opposed to Dare and "just say no". He replied "I wish I'd known just how totally it takes over your life."
      The stealing, the legal trouble - they all come second to the drugs. It's a medical condition, not a moral one.

    • @kazzuo32
      @kazzuo32 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@immortalsofar5314 I get your point, to the person is a medical condition to the people around them it becomes both, because how many times do you let them steal from you before they get help.

    A lot of people are really hung up on placing a lot of effort in honoring the dead. Honor the living, they will be around longer. The dead have no input in your life but in the name of Honor and respect you will cause hardships in your life and for others.

      If you mean the last story, funerals and memorial services are for the living and are important to many people. Op is under the delusion that Julie is hers alone and her father Marc's side doesn't exist.

    Don't berate yourself so heavily as even trained therapists and physicians miss things and find it takes several tries to even glimpse a patients issues. Depression could be less likely than drugs to influence her to steal. I hope it gets better.

    Story 2 NTA, definitely NTA Never shame someone for doing something you don't like, EVERYONE, even a shame, does something that someone doesn't like. When you shame someone you just show how petty you are. No one is perfect, including you.

    S1 NTA IDC what kind of crap a person goes threw growing up, a theif is a THEIF and belongs in jail. Why do people think it's harsh to put a theif in prison?
    Mental illness and drug addiction are not excuses or reasons to commit crimes.
    If you don't want to do the time then don't do the crime. Once an addict always an addict.

    I don't understand why OP blames herself so much....she didn't shove needs down her sisters arms or whatever, nor did she push her to get back into drugs. Sister also got a lot of help, but if she wants to be a deranged druggie then there's nothing anyone can do. If she won't work in herself then no amount of therapy will help her.

  • @unicornjennie
    @unicornjennie ปีที่แล้ว +1

    S3 NTA does Julie want to go to the funeral? If she wants to be in the wedding she needs to prioritize what's going on. Let her grieve and exercise her autonomy.

    Story 2 is a familiar pattern, I experienced that 🙈 in our case it was not an aunt and cousins, it was my friend and her mom. My mom heard that they make videocalls several times a week and started to accuse me of not doing the same😬 if she never knew about them doing it, she would not even think about videocalling with me. she already knew that the technology exists and is available on her computer and smartphone, she was just not interested before this imaginary "competition" of being close to one's daughter🤷🏻‍♀️

    My daughter has been drug free since 2005. She’s now a producted person. She moved to Pa after her baby brother was murdered at 22. That’s what sobered her up but I’m always afraid when she comes to Memphis she’ll go off to those places. She says she has no idea where those places r , nor the people. She went to 4 different rehabs & they didn’t work. Her brothers death is what worked for her. She’s 49

    If mom has realized she blew it, why would you throw that back in her face? You’re self-sabotaging. It’s easy to fall into, if you’ve been abused/neglected. You can’t take advice from people who are filled with hate & expect to get a good result. Be careful who you listen to. These people describing her as a narcissist, because they had narcissists as mothers, don’t necessarily apply. (I didn’t hear one that did, or used any of your mom’s behaviors to support their theories; they only described their trauma.) You can punish your mother, but you punish yourself too. Decide what you actually WANT, adjust your behavior accordingly. Speak to your mom about your feelings, without being confrontational, (it never helps to be confrontational) and tell her what you wanted, what you do want, what are deal breakers etc. Be forgiving, understanding and kind, that gives her the chance to respond in kind. If it doesn’t work, you will never have to wonder if it would have. Don’t block your own happiness, to spite her for being caught up in her own life. Go after your dream relationship.

    As soon as you see words like "shambles" or phrases worded like "up to my limit" or "beyond limits" just know that it's an ESL [English as a second language] creative writing exercise.
    In stories where police are involved, you'll often see that worded strangely too.

      @shells500tutubo ปีที่แล้ว

      Mom is a narcissist, and will just bully Op to try to get her way. Op should not see a therapist jointly with her mother until Op herself has been seeing a therapist for a little while to understand herself and her feelings about her mother better.

  • @shells500tutubo
    @shells500tutubo ปีที่แล้ว

    What a joke that first story is. Op calls the 9-1-1 for lost credit cards and not only do they come to her house, they go with her to her sister's house and a magical warrant and search the house for a long time before finding the cards out on the kitchen counter.
    Someone should alert the writer of this tripe just how things like this work in the real world.

    Sister's depression. Boohoo. She knows not to steal and she knows using drugs is bad. If she wants to be free as an adult, she has to act like one and stop using her illness as an excuse. Depression does not equal being a thief. At least you'll know where she is for the next 7 years.
