    Thanks for the memories. I remember taking my son there in the 80's. It was a awesome place. The rollercoaster was put in years later. It actually didn't run but one time before they shut it down. This place has been sold numerous times but never really got started due to money issues. Hopefully someone will come along an buy it and start it back. I would have loved to have taken my grandchildren here.

    What a BEAUTIFUL video. I’ve been there when I was a kid visiting Asheville. I had to call my parents & ask them because it looked so familiar! It’s so exciting that it’s opening up again & being run by ex Disney executives! You’ll have to return in spring 2019 after it’s reopened Josh! Cheers to another fantastic adventure! 🧡

    Ghost Town In The Sky was the bomb in it's hay day! Tha saloon you were in, one of the can can girls came down to kiss my son on the check. He was so embarrassed, he was 10. lol! Ghost Town use to have a ride called the Pirates Ship, it would swing out over the mountain! Where you were standing looking over the fence looking at Maggy Valley is where the Pirates Ship was, it went out over that fence.

    Outta curiosity I just googled this place and if it's in a place called Maggie Valley, in North Carloina, it said something about plans to revive and reopen in April of 2019!! Idk how long ago u guys filmed this, but by the looks of it, its gonna need a HUUUUGGE CREW working around the clock literally 24-7 to MAYBE even coming close to that goal!! Would DEFINITELY be awesome tho!!!! Just that rollar Coaster alone would need a MAJOR overhaul!! I'd go for that coaster alone!!! Soooo cool!!!😁🖤

    Use to go to Ghost Town in the Sky all the time as a kid. It was my favorite stop after our camping trips. It’s sad to see it forgotten like that after I had so many good childhood memories visiting the place. The chairlift ride to get to the top of the mountain was the most extreme! Gunfights in the streets, Can Can girls and Cherokee war dances were some of the neatest entertainment there too. So glad you could share the experience of visiting after so many years.

    I'm from Montana and I worked at a place called Deadrock, where a guy bought and moved several really old buildings up there and made an old west town. Philip Morris leased it for Marlboro Ranch. They had a promotion where people in bigger cities could win trips through them for a week up there with horses and such. I was the staff cook and I made meals for 35 to 40 people twice a day. It's up near the Crazy Mountains by Clyde Park, Montana. That town you're at can't hold a candle to what's up there! It's amazing. It's not abandoned . Yet.

    Hey Josh just did some research on this amusement park and good news. It's been bought by a company that is planning renovations and should have two of the areas open by spring 2019. The article I found on it was posted July of this year. They're going to be adding more adventures and rides and should have everything completed by 2020. So the park is coming back from it's abandoned days. I can't wait. Love all your videos Josh and just keep doing what you're doing. You're amazing.

    We all know any other TH-camr would have titled this 'Bloody Body Parts Found At Explore' after the scare room, but not Josh. This is why I love his stuff - one of the most genuine explorers on here!

    They’re supposed to re-open it in like 2019 we’ve been wanting to go there for like ever. Our family passes it on the way to the our cabin. It has like a ski lift all the way up there.

    My grandparents used to take me and my cousins here in the summer. One time the chairlift stalled out while we were on it, haha. I was always too scared to ride the Red Devil. This was probably around 2000. Everything was kind of dirty, and busted. The whole place was really just going downhill and falling apart, but the memories I have of the place are so fond. My favorite thing was the scrambler, which I can't remember the name of it. They'd turn out all the lights, start flashing a strobelight, and blast AC/DC.

      Not sure of that, there were houses with cars in the driveway along that road. . .and as far as they traveled, hiking it would give it a way more. . .still a great video, I wonder what happened to the people who bought it in March and were talking about re-opening it?

    • @jamiejai5650

      @@mountainneko I googled it outta curiosity and idk when this was filmed but it said its suppose to reopen in spring 2019, which even with a HUUUUGGE CREW working around the clock still dont seem possible. It would be awesome tho!! Only reason I'm thinking that they hiked it, is maybe no parking up there? Cuz I doubt they did that horrible looking hike just for show, and they're clearly not hiding the location cuz the names all over the place!! Even a small hill can be rough, this looks like it woulda been hell to troop up!!! Poor Steve almost died like half way up lol!!!😝🖤😁

    • @mountainneko
      @mountainneko 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Spring 2019! yeah, that definitely is an impossible date, even working 24 hours a day to get it back up. . .and from Google Earth, the only hike worse would have been if they hiked up the trail under the sky lift from the original parking lot. . .

    • @jodihepler6202
      @jodihepler6202 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To get to the park you always road the sky lift, except for those that couldn't road a bus up. The road may have had a gate. I believe the red buildings you see were like motels to stay at there. I don't believe I have ever been there, but my best friend used to go there as a kid. We live in NC.

    Just wow! That was amazing. I've never seen a Ghost Town in such mint condition before. All the ones down here in Nevada have been torn down, built upon or simply faded away with the land. But those were never maintained or used recently like this one. But I'd love to visit there someday.
    So anyways keep up the good work. This was definitely one of your best abandoned places you've ever visited that's for sure. =]

    I enjoy your videos and appreciate the fact you don't destroy stuff or take things. How about working on your enunciation. The word is mounTain.. not "moun-un" in this one was repeated over and over. Your friends have better speech patterns. You seriously may want to work on our speech and enunciation. Why? Because the potential to do this for broadcast is great, but you need to speak clearly. One other thing.. On one "exploring", you were in a mansion and there was beautiful grand piano, and you said "these are like $5,000 to $6,000 dollars". Sometimes it seems like you really have zero knowledge of what you're talking about. Like that grand piano would be at least more like $50,000 to $60,000 (and really nice ones can cost $250,000). Since you clear post-produce these, maybe do a little fact-checking and cut out stuff that's completely wrong that you've said and voice-edit some commentary if you need. Would be cool if you did a little research about these places. Some history or background facts instead of guessing.

Different aspects in different seasons is so amazing! They have made so much money of my family but yah know what it was the best money spent! And the shoot outs were amazing! Parts of The yellow roller coaster actually had to be fixed because of a land slide!

    My family worked there back in the 80s and early 90s. My dad was one of the cowboys who got “shot” and “fell”off one of the buildings. I have ALOT of memories of GhostTown. Hope someone buys it and fix it up. Thanks for the video!
