- Hello there, I’m Theo and this is my love nest. Would you like to study diagnostic radiography at UJ? Here’s all you need to know
Please like, share, comment and subscribe.
You’re literally God sent, I was so anxious and confused on the whole process
You’re welcome ☺️
Do check other videos as well for more details ♥️
When does uj send the condition letter, cause I haven't received any beside confirmation of application
Hey Theo! Thanks for the videos, they were incredibly informative about radiography and it's relatives; and I just wanted to be incredibly specific so that you as well knew the intensive amount of value you have granted everyone who's watched your videos on this subject;-)
But I wanted to ask if you could like send me a Draft of some sort or points if a Draft is too much work on how the motivational letter can or should be written. I would really appreciate it a lot for I'm not good at or in writing essays.
I would really appreciate your marvelous help.
Anyways thanks for taking the time to read this message and have a blessed day and don't forget to share to yourself of what your greatful for★
Thank you so much. This really means a lot. I’m glad the videos are helpful.
You can DM me on Instagram and I’ll give you the pointers for your motivational letter
Hi Theo, thank you for the videos they were very much helpful. So i already applied at uj for Radiography (Radiation Therapy)but i would like to change it to Diagnostic since there are no hospitals in my area offering such and also may you please offer tips on how to write a motivational letter 😊
So let get this straight
1. After I get my conditional accepted letter, i have to spend 3days at a hospital of my choice
2.after the 3days I have to apply to a training hospital from the list given to me by uj then the interview...
What kind of questions did they ask during the interview?
Thanks a lot for the information.but im kind of confused on what to choose between dentistry and radiography.please help ❤
Awesome video 😊
Can you also please make a video about the salaries of radiographers ,if you don’t mind.
And also what opportunities you can have access to if you do your Masters in radiography.
I’m glad you loved the video 😊😊
Obtaining a master’s degree can allow you to work in an academic field (be a lecturer) or be a researcher.
Salaries vary depending on experience, the place you work at (whether it’s private or public, urban or rural) and your knowledge of specialised imaging also plays a role in how much you get.
@@theodamari Thank you so much , I noticed that we have a lot in common 😂😂maybe I’m a Minnie you ,I’m doing my first year in Radiography and my clinical practice is at CMJAH😊
@@Gomolemo_M23 😂😂😂 Hello mini me ♥️🤍
@@theodamari I want to be like you when I grow up😂😂❤️❤️
Hi Theo this was very helpful to me thank you, please kindly share the type of questions they ask for in interview i have been conditional admitted
I’m glad this was helpful. Here’s a link to a video I did on questions to expect th-cam.com/video/Xyq7Vc_hc4U/w-d-xo.html
Would love to see a spend a day at work !!❤
Will definitely do it ☺️☺️

So there's no stipend in public hospital?
Y'all start wearing scrubs from 1st year and also practice at the hospital in your first year?
In a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is Radiography
Hey, there’s no stipend in public hospitals and yes, we wear scrubs from first year.
Hi, I just want to confirm-do I need to first complete the three days at the hospital before applying to a training center, or can I go ahead and apply to the training center while doing the three days I just been conditionally accepted yesterday
Heyy Theo, im really stressed that the 2 hospitals i applied into haven't accepted me as an successful candidates...without interviewing me. What can i possibly do next? As i would really like to study Radiation Therapy next year.
Hi sis I have just finished watching your video and I'm currently a grade 12 student if I may ask, am I late now to apply for a training hospital ?😢
This was helpful. Thank you❤️🩹🫂
amongst those courses u have mentioned ..which one would u advice one to do
Hey I currently applied to uj for diagnostic radiography from another degree. Now my status is stating “referred to faculty” i really don’t know what to do because I feel like time is running out. I haven’t received an email stating the list of hospitals to apply to. Any advice on what can I do at the moment.
Thank you in advance ❤
Hey I got the letter but thing is now they sent only the private hospital details that I could apply at please assist
Yes please do a vlog at work❤️
Consider it done ☺️
Hey theo .so when can I apply for the training because all they are working with are in gauteng and I'm in eastern cape?
I’d advise you apply as soon as possible because the hospitals get full. You can do the applications via email or post, you don’t necessarily have to be present in person
@@theodamari Thank you so much🥰🥰🙏
Do you normally do the interviews at the training center after uj accepted you or before.please respond.❤
You do them towards the end of the year sometimes before UJ gives you full admission
@@theodamari ok thanks 💖
Hi I got a clinical placement in KZN and will it work because the distance is far
Hey, if it’s for UJ, it won’t work. It has to be with the hospitals that Uj has pre approved for training students
What about if obversation are not allowed since it's level 3 of corona? Most
Hospitals are against rotations during this time
Hey… if the university didn’t specifically say that you should spend time in a radiology department, don’t stress it
They did , but hospitals are against rotations since there is corona
@@ndzalamarofhiwa8613 please call the hospital closest to you and explain that you need observation hours for you to be accepted to study
I will try doing that
Thank you 👏
Hey Theo , I'm watching this video now , I don't meet the minimum requirements and I'm to be reconsidered after my finals , but they didn't send a list for the hospital , what if I'm accepted next year what will happen,
You will NEED a training centre. If UJ accepts you but you haven’t gotten a training centre, they will revoke the acceptance
What about the interview , is it after I am accepted or before acceptance
So last year I applied then ke I Was provisional accepted by the University but I Didn't do this hospital 3days thing. But I'm doing Analytical Chemistry..I'm thinking of re applying for radiographer again so what must I do to get the hospital for that 3 days things....
All you have to do is call the hospital and ask them if you can have your observations there
Do I have to look for a hospital if i want to study at central
hey Theo I'm currently a UJ student but I don't like what I'm currently studying,I wanted to ask if they still would want me to do hospital training this year?
If you want to study radiography next year, you’d have to find a hospital for training NEXT YEAR while you study. You’ll only be expected to do observations this year.
hey theo...thank you for the video i would like to ask how do you apply for observations ? thanks in advance
Hey. You don’t have to apply for observation. All you can do is call to make an appointment
does the hospital that u gonna do ur practice have to closer to the campus...or even if its miles away??
It doesn’t have to be close to campus. You can choose any hospital on the list provided by the university
@@theodamari so what if I haven't applied to any hospital for practice yet
@@alfredamtracer4099 you need to start applying ASAP. I’m posting a video about it at 9:30. Check it out
Hi Theo why were the number of graduates for ultrasound so low??
Hey, ultrasound student in take was always a lesser number from first year. I don’t really know the reason behind it. And when we eventually got to final year, some had changed courses
What about students that reside in other provinces?
Just complete your observations at a hospital near you, then after those forms are signed start applying to the training centre hospitals in Johannesburg via email, you don't need to go to Johannesburg necessarily.
Heyyy Theo 💓💓 I am stressed now because I haven't received any list of hospitals and I haven't done any observation. How do I submit my observations to uj ?
Hey, are you sorted? Please dm me on Instagram
Where do i upload the forma for observation?😢
I’m not sure about that. It there hasn’t been any instruction on where to upload it, just keep it safe until they ask for it,
Hey Theo can you assist me on how do I draft my email and supporting documents for the training centre application as UJ has sent me a letter of conditionally acceptance
Hey… I already have a video on that, titled “How to apply for radiography training centre”
Hey Theo! Hope uh doing good...... I'm a South African National and currently living abroad .....just completed my high school degree ...... will UJ accept me nw ???? As a late applicant ??? Are there any chances ? Will be patiently waiting for ur reply!
Hi can you please be my mentor I will be doing my grade 11 this year and I am interested in studying radiography... you respond will be hightly appreciate
They didn't give me a list if hospitals so what should i do?
You can download it from the internet
Hey Theo🥰
I want to know that where do you get the forms for observation

Hey Theo👋
I really liked you video and I think I can use some help from you. I applied for Diagnostic Radiography for 2023 but I don't know how to apply for a training, so I was kindly asking if I have to apply training via email or elsewhere?
Hi. You first have to contact the hospital to find out their preferred method of application but it’s usually via email. You can watch the FAQ video I uploaded recently, I explained it there.🤗
@@theodamari thank you very much Theo👏I will contact them
Hey Theo, I just watched the video and I have a lot of questions but I really what to know if there's a specific due date for one to do the visits to the hospital after you've received the email?
There isn’t. But you have to find a training centre ASAP. Please do watch my other radiography videos for better understanding
So when u choose a hospital for training , that is where u do u pracs until u graduate ?
Yeah, and if there’s modalities/ specialities that your hospital doesn’t have, they arrange with other hospitals for you to go and spend time in that hospital so you can get an idea of how the modalities work
Thank you so much for the informative videos. However I am still a bit confused, I got a response for something called 'Orange Carpet Admittance' but no correspondence regarding the hospital training thingy. Can I just go ahead and start looking for a hospital without correspondence from the university that I need to?
Hey, yes. U can start looking for a hospital. But the university has already accepted you based on your current results. They will communicate with you further
Hey Theo, so when applying for training you don't have to apply to all hospitals in order for all of them to be present during the interview?
Some of them are in partnership, applying to one will allow you to have them all but I’ll advise you to apply to as many as you can
@@theodamari okay, thank you.
Hey I have been declined for ultrasound at uj
What does that mean?
Did you also submit the proof of “job shadowing “ when applying for a training centre ?
I honestly don’t remember if I sent it to uj or the training centre 🥴 but one of them asked for it
Greetings Theo, I am being conditionally accepted at UJ for doing my degree in diagnostics radiography switching from Civil Engineering degree and I sort of haven't received the list from UJ of the hospitals they are in partnership with so what do I do?
Any advice will help.
thank you for your time and please do assist me where you can I will be happy if you do.
Hey, please dm me your email address on Instagram and I’ll send you the list
@@theodamarihello, okay thank you
Hey. I wanted to ask are those all the standard documents one needs to apply or are there more?
These are the most requested ones. If they need more, they’ll let you know
Goodness sake why did i see this video so late😥💔💔but anyways...Hi Theo, so i have applied for radiography(Nuclear Medicine)and i am given a conditionally acceptance, the thing is im in KZN, my Question is ,,is it really important to do the observation in one of the Johannesburg Hospitals?
No you don't necessarily need to complete your observations in JHB. So just do the observations at a nearby hospital close by, then get your forms signed. After that's completed apply to the hospital training centers in Johannesburg.
Hey love this video! I have a question does UJ allow you to change courses after first year for example if I’m studying Biokinetics can I change by my second year to do Radiography?
Heey. Yes they do but you’ll have to start in first year of radiography and you’ll get credited for common modules if there’s any
@@theodamari can I change computer science degree to radiography first year if I failed one module in my previous course
Hy Theo how do we write a motivational letter
Hi. Please watch the video on interview questions. Your motivational letter contains more or less answers to the interview questions
hey theo...i have applied for radiography at uj but currently studying at another institution , i have done the shadowing at this hospital,,,where should i post my proof
and the hospital that i should find myself..must it be next to uj?
Please keep proof of observation, it will be required soon
So basically I have to do observations at the hospitals they work with?
You can observe at any hospital, but to apply for training it MUST be with hospitals that they work with
Hey. Im an international student, and i just want to know interviews are offered online?
You can request an online interview from the institution you’re interested in
Hello Theo, not sure if you will see this but I have a question: Is the interview a mandatory thing in every hospital or just some? And if mandatory will I have to travel a long way just for it?
Your video was most helpful currently 🙏 ❤️
Hey. Interviews are mandatory in all hospitals. Some prefer you have the interview in person but you can always request to have it virtually. I’m guessing there might be such platforms, I’m not certain about that though
What kind of questions were asked during the interview?
Hey, I uploaded a detailed video about the interview on my channel, please check it out
Hey.. I'm in Lesotho and have applied to do AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and I have to choose between physics and biology 😟..which one do you recommend I choose?
I’d say take physics because it’s a requirement for radiography unless you did physics in high school, you can take biology.
I wish you all the best 😊
@@theodamari Thank you very much
In high school I did all the sciences, there was no having to choose between subjects
@@thakanesechache then you’re good to go ☺️
Do u have to observe in one of the hospitals associated with UJ or can it be any hospital?
Can be any hospital
Hey thank you for the 2 videos
I live in Lesotho,do you know what happens if I'm an international student who hasn't done observation at a hospital before applying, can I still get accepted?
Hey, you can still get accepted without observations. The problem comes when you don’t have placement for training
hey Theo .thank you for the videos they were really helpful .
so what's happens when you applying for training and your Grade 12 third term results are not "good" ? or don't meet the minimum requirements?
Do I need to write a National benchmark test to be accepted for radiography. Is it a must?
Not for radiography at UJ, you don’t need the NBT
Hey
In the one year after graduation where a radiographer does community service, does the radiographer work for free or gets paid?
Hey There... yes. You do get paid on your comm. serve year
@@theodamari Alright thank you
So does Dept of Health gives meal allowances or stipends? If yes how much?
They give a fixed amount of money to every student they fund and it’s up to you how you utilise the money. Also it differs per province but the money should cover tuition, accommodation, books and meals
@@theodamari do they fund students who are doing this as a second degree?
@@hlengiwedlomo380 yes, they do
Would it be possible to do a collab with someone you know that chose a private hospital
You mean for them to tell how it was to train in a private hospital as a student?
Yes , just to have specifics of everything. Also would it be ok if I send you a message on Instagram because the application process is a little confusing
hey theo. so do you go to do practicals on your own or you sent by the school there ?.
You are sent by the school but you have to look for the training centre yourself
So I'd like to ask if you are in KZN and you want to study in UJ , is it possible to do your hospital observations in KZN ?
Yes, you can observe anywhere
When you send in your application for hospital placement, should you include your provisionally selected letter as well?
I was studying Biotechnology and I deregistered. Now I applied for diagnostic Radiography and my application has been referred to the faculty so it's really stressing me out because I feel like time is running out.
Yes, you have to include the letter when you apply. If not, they will ask you to bring it along to your interview
Hey @Thabisile Masombuka why did you switch from biotechnology to radiology?I’m asking cause I also want to study biotechnology 😂
Hey Theo🥰
I really loved your video and also an applicant at UJ for the academic year 2022 , I did receive the training centre's so my question is that when applying for placement at a hospital, do I apply using the email or I should make a phone call instead?

How long should i observe? What are the minimum hours??
Last I checked it was 24 hrs
Have u already applied for a training centre?i just got a conditional acceptance letter 3 days ago
Hey , if you already completed your matric and got conditionally admitted and got accepted at a training centre and also signed the contract, does that mean youll get automatically accepted by uj next year?
There’s a 99,9% that you’ll be accepted 😊

Hi, thanks for this video, it’s super helpful. You’ve mentioned that with a private hospital you get a stipend, don’t you also get a stipend at a public hospital?
Hey… unfortunately you don’t get a stipend in public hospitals as a student radiographer.
Hi Theo. Thank you for your content. I am interested in applying for the course at UJ. And time is running out but i want to be so sure.
My questions are:
1)what are the working hours? as im a mom of three. Need to figure a way around that.
Hey. You’ll work 8 hours a day and how the hours are broken down depends on where you work. It could be 7-4 or 10- 6 or 11-7, it depends on how the roaster is done in that particular hospital. You might have to work weekends and night shifts and holidays here and there.
Hey Theo how do you apply for the department of health bursary ?
You can get the forms online or from a tertiary public hospital near you, then post them to the department of health.
Check their website www.zabursaries.co.za/government-bursaries-south-africa/gauteng-department-of-health-bursary/
