Great review Justin! I've noticed most women don't care for Chanel AHSEE on paper. The magic happens when they get whiffs of it in the air and it also leaves a beautiful scent trail. In my experience, I've received compliments with AHSEE.

I agree. I'm a guy, but I never liked it. Than one day a guy walked past me in a store and I was like DAMN! I asked what he was wearing and was not expecting him to say that. So I got an actual sample and gave it a wear and it's so much better on skin.
ADG Profumo is top three GOAT for me.
I get why La Nuit de l'Homme Eau Electrique gets so much hate, it's really un-original and all however, I really REALLY enjoy it, I love wearing it, it does smell amazing and it performs real good
Same for me it’s a combination of the original La Nuit and Eros.
Try the Le Parfum version. It smells more mature and is better as you get older imo.

To be honest with you bro, you’re absolutely correct. Almost all the designer colognes are basic to me now, except Chanel and Dior, and out of those, I keep all the Bleu (I love Edition Blanche) and Dior Homme Sport. Now, I just can’t do basic. I’ve been indulging in Montale and Mancera fragrances lately, and I absolutely love em. Different, reasonable, complimentary and beast mode. They are just phenomenal.

Grace's positive reactions to Percival, Coach Platinum, and Eau Electrique were gold. Eau Electrique in 1st place? Flies in the face conventions. Love it! Entertaining and thought provoking, as usual. Takeaway: Sometimes I'm basic bro (Chanel AHSEE, love it). Sometimes I'm not. LOL.

I genuinely think the correct takeaway from this is that soapy and/or powdery scents are basic bro scents. Basically, anything by Armani or Prada is basic. Like, a mediocre 5 or 6 out of 10. I've been having this debate with a friend since 1996.
@@MrDanielWP My original takeaway was done in humor but remains. I think some soapy/powdery scents are quite good, even excellent (8-10). Interpretation ("basic bro" and so forth) is based on many things, including taste. And taste, in the end, is subjective, but I respect your view.
Coach Platinum smells chocolaty to me too. The combination of patchouli and vanilla can give that impression. And Prada Carbon does have a soapy smell to me too.

Justin and Grace I love Bleu Electricque by Ysl , I also here recently purchased Sauvage Elixir and Paco Rabbanna Phantom. Justin you would know better than I, but I heard it said Paco Rabbanna Phantom smells slightly like Layton to some degree but not totally but of that Apple vibe

Armani Code Parfum just smells like Root Beer soda to me so I totally agree with it being basic.

I used to think like this but the more niche fragrance I collected in my collection (350ish) I’ve realized basic smell so good. I just want to smell great, I don’t care who else is wearing it.

Eau Electrique is one I don't hear about often. But if Grace says it's good, I guess I'll give it a chance.
PDM is a house I will try one day. Just gotta wrap my head around those prices.
PDM has decent prices on the grey market.

I'm with you on price, but I've gotten legit 4.2oz bottles as low as $125 last year (pre-covid), and then a couple more this year for around $160. If you don't have a place to sample these nearby (I don't), then definitely order a decant or sample first. It's an awesome house.

I'm gonna keep an eye out for a good price. But definitely gonna check out some 8 or 10ml samples too.
Yeah not to sound like captain obvious, but also keep in mind PDM's big bottles are 4.2oz... quite a bit more juice than 3.4oz.

Eau Electrique has the same cheap coumerin feel that the whole Code line has except with a cool apple/bergamot sparkling opening. It is really nice in the air, that code DNA just wears on you though(makes me sick personally). Glad to have traded mine for Bleu Electrique as it has just enough of Eau in it.

Great concept for a video that resonates with niche fragrance lovers that are further along in their fragrance journey. Great insight for the newbies to the world like myself. A few thoughts echoed by a gent called Aaron Terence Hughes who joined your friend Chris on the Frag-mental channel in a series called "perfumer rates..."
Highly advise you watch - "perfumer rates my favourite fragrances" on that channel in fact watch all his guest appearances with Chris, very interesting guy that can't stand the lack of originality in the industry as it stands now but as Grace said in her satirical voice "it's all about the money"

Chanel AHSEE gets me tons of unsolicited compliments when I wear it out.
Louis Vuitton Li'mmensite is a nice ass fragrance. That's one of my favorites in my stable.
Man if Louis Vuitton is for "basic bros" most of us are even worse than basic lol.
Prada carbon is *very* basic I was legit shocked when I bought it after Prada Luna Rosa black.
I love this video I’ve held the same opinions about these fragrances for a long time I felt kind of crazy every time I smell these I’m like it’s nothing special it’s like nice high-quality soapy clean but still nothing special, nothing that makes me go wow.

I don't know i guess I'm basic I rocked Armani code eau de parfum over this past weekend pulled in four compliments from 20 minutes after spraying on until the 6th hour i pulled the 4th one and none of that hey that smell good generic stuff but some "woooowwwwww you smell really nice" "OMG what are you wearing i cant even think straight you smell so good" ill take it lol. I get what you're getting at though and I'm glad to see PDM fragrance on here as I been saying forever their scents are overrated IMO

Well I only have AHSEE out of these now, I haven’t wore it in a while and something on the dry down I don’t enjoy much on me but it’s a compliment getter. It smells great in the air to others! ADGP not a fan, had it and eventually gave it to a friend.

I thought I was alone in wearing certain fragrances and then getting tired or bored of them within a couple hours regardless of the positive feedback 😆. I attribute it to maturity and to how bougie our noses became after getting into higher quality niche fragrances but I could be wrong… but I’m not 🤣🤣

But after years of sniffing countless fragrances, my taste is naturally in things more interesting and unique. I always make that clear. Doesn’t mean that the “basics” aren’t worth mentioning.
Interesting and unique doesn’t have to mean spending $500 by the way. I try to talk about unique designer fragrances often.
Either way, wear what moves you. If you just wanna smell good, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Bleu Electrique is more like the original La Nuit, while Eau Electrique is more like Versace Eros
