Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Sisters Mode vs Nest of Evil Bosses

If you know me, you know I love me some DS Castlevania. So imagine my disbelief, and indescribable amount of hype at the same time, when the latest Nintendo Partner Showcase revealed the Castlevania Dominus Collection, for Steam, PS4/5, Xbox One/Series, and the Nintendo Switch. These are some of my favorite games of all time, and I am glad to finally be able to play them without being on an emulator that runs like shit.
Not only that, but because I'm playing on hardware, specifically on the Switch, I can actually play Sisters Mode the way god intended. I never tried it on emulator for obvious reasons.
That said... oof, I don't think the stick cursor is all that good for this mode. Feels very clunky. Stella's slashes are especially egregious, since they're stronger the faster you slide on the screen.
But since I was playing on handheld mode, I could just use the Switch's touch screen anyway. Unfortunately, the best way to play this mode is basically unrecordable in the collection... RIP to what could be the best speedruns, I guess, they're stuck on the DS.
Oh wait. No one speedruns this mode anyway. It'll give you Kid Icarus: Uprising-tier hand cramps. Man, what is it with games I love and fucking up your hands?
That said, there is a severe lack of Sisters Mode content on TH-cam, and I just wanted to upload this because uhh... hoo boy, these two are, for lack of better words, fucking overpowered as shit? Look at the video length! There is no such thing as too much catharsis when you can bring even the Double Creature to their knees. Literally and figuratively. I never Game Overed in this playthrough even once. Funny, considering they have their own Game Over image separate from the other three modes!
Anyway, even though there's no final boss to prepare for in Sisters Mode (the game ends upon entering Brauner's painting, so no fight with him or Dracula and Death), I still decided to tackle the Nest of Evil with these two.
I used Switch clips to make this video and... it took longer uploading all clips to a one-person server where I keep these in however, than it was actually getting these boss kills and editing them. Blame the dipshit currently running Twitter for basically getting video/image sharing removed on all 3 major console platforms. Dude's such a fucking walking failure, even his name pronunciation makes no sense. I was pronouncing the E like Eh for the longest time before I found out it was just pronounced like E, THROUGH A KATAKANA SPELLING OF HIS NAME THAT SOMEONE BLEW UP IN TEARS OF THE KINGDOM

Extra notes:
-I'm at Level 43 in all clips, except for Abaddon where I'm level 44. This is because I just reloaded my file after every boss I defeated, on a file that already beat the Nest of Evil, however the section leading up to Abaddon gives so much EXP that I leveled up on the way. (Double Creature, anyone? 5000 EXP each?)
-The sisters' hitbox is actually very tiny, it's the size of the Toad/Owl Morphs. That's why I can literally just stand still during Balore's laser and not get hit. They can't duck, either.
-Fake Trio was 3 clips stitched into one. Definitely not a seamless transition, my apologies.
-Also funny 30fps because of my editing software.
Also, Gold Skeletons only take 1 damage from either sister's attacks (with an HP stat of 255). However you have such a tiny hitbox that you can just float above them without grabbing their attention. Sure, they'll turn around, but as long as you float at the very top of the screen in a wide arc, they'll never come after you.

I knew it existed. I once had this on the DS long ago. And now, it’s one the Switch and PS5 in a collection.
Interesting that the final Doppelganger fight is turned into the Stella & Loretta fight in this mode
I love the Castlevania series, especially Portrait of Ruin. In fact, I have some videos of that game myself.
Any chance of doing the Boss Rush courses as they two? Having done them myself they just...stomp it into mud easily. Like Course 2 is the only one that gives them trouble and that's all because of Brauner.
Done them in my own free time. With Switch clips though? Unreliable.
@@Iris_Descent Right, forgot that unless you have a capture device, the only option is the 30 second switch clip
Also that said though, I didn't have much trouble with Brauner as the Sisters. You can quite literally trace his art, lmao. Peak out of context Portrait of Ruin.
@@Iris_Descent Ok true yeah. I meant more in "the sisters don't kill him in less then 30 seconds" but otherwise he's a joke to them.
