This was spectacular gents! Very themey and cool My self-indulgent recommendations for the next BIG bat rep would the Battle Under the Trees or the Defense of Erebor. Both take place during the war of the ring and are vague enough to add some fun, maybe not canon, stuff into the battles. Like a Moria dragon helping assault Erebor with the easterlings and orcs

This is a stunning battle, amazing models and great terrain. Black Gate, Pelennor and Helms deep are all really cool battles but I one that I havnt seen anywhere else would be the Battle of Azanulbizar. Dain and the iron hills + army of Thror vs Azog and maybe moria Goblins? Maybe I'm just a bit biased towards dwarves though
@twotreesgaming thats awesome. I always thought it would be cool to have a 3 way alliance to include the kazad dum dwarves with the iron hills and Thror. Obviously can't include Dain but in a narrative game it could be fun. I feel like you would be able to make a really interesting map too, all rocky and sloped up to the gates of Moria
Love the whole report. What a game. Also regarding conversion corner (not that you need any more lol) but the moranon orcs also blend in really well (woth head swaps etc.) and help with the variety of poses

Great work. 22:25 I may be playing this wrong, but is Bard really a banner for himself? The way I read the rule is all the other models (which they list), count as being in range of a banner? He isn’t listed. Maybe FAQ’d?

Awesome video! As for mega battles, I’d love to see you guys tackle the Fall of Gondolin. I feel some really cool things could be done with holding the Fountain Courtyard, having Ecthelion and Tuor protect the gate, buying time against orcs, drakes and a balrog for Glorfindel to evacuate refugees from the city. Ecthelion could probably be similar to Glorfindel or maybe Gil-galad in terms of stats, and Tuor could probably be a surrogate Elendil, just with an axe. That’s all up to you guys of course, if you decide to do it! Thanks for the sweet battle reports, your hard work in putting them together is appreciated

Incredible bat rep I had to watch it in chunks because of the length. Every time I had to stop I couldn’t wait to get back and carry on! Would love to see the fall of Gondolin but if not the Black gate would be epic! Amazing channel keep it up 👍🏻

New viewer/sub here, love to see some quality LOTR content! On the topic of the next mega-battle, how about the siege of Erebor? During the third age it was siege by a mainly "Rûhn" force if Im not mistaken so that could be cool. And I would have loved to see an overview of the armies before the actual match begins, like a walking through what is brought unto the table for each army. If there is a reason for this not being done stated in a older video I apologize.
Siege of Erebor could definitely be on the cards as Aaron has a decent amount of dwarves and rhun. If the rumoured War of the Rohirrim chariots appear, that could be great! And yeah we normally do have a more detailed run down but as this wasn't matched play I was trying to get to the action a bit quicker- but noted for next time!

All your suggestions for the next big battle are cool, Black Gate was my first thought but how about the siege of Isengard, where good have to destroy the dam, would be cool to see a load of ents!
I love both these suggestions! Black Gate is the one I'd like to do but not sure about the other three (and you guys!). Isengard could be a great board build!
Helms Deep was the plan before they announced War of the Rohirrim but now Zorp and the other big channels will probably do that so I'm on the fence! Would so love to though..!

What an awesome batrep with some incredible models and terrain! Legolas and Tauriel seemed prefectly placed to try and hamper the signal tower which was such an important asset for evil - great idea. Were they not able to move there?
Also, there are some strong suggestions for the next one. I was thinking there isn't much in the way of Arnor going around, so maybe a siege of Fornost? Obviously it would need a lot of conversions, but I really enjoyed the adapted rules for this br
Yeah we said they could bring them on anywhere along that edge but on the turn they entered I'd have dropped a ton of goblin mercs and Azog would have been around with the lieutenants, but probably would have been more cinematic..!

Pelennor is so on the cards! Slowly gathering Nazgul and orcs etc to take to tourneys to build the numbers. And it's been me vs Aaron and Lou for twenty years, don't know why but I think mainly because I'm clearly not a great team player 😂 Really glad you enjoyed!

Haha yeah it was 2.5 vs 1. On some level you want to use your own stuff too and Leon supplied half the eagles and Beorn, much more fun spreading the heroes around than "here's a bunch of orcs" 😅

Incredible table, incredible models and incredible scenario. I'd love to see the Battle of Fornost. The Angmar lore battles are some of the coolest. 2nd would be the taking of Minas Ithil by the WK.

Perhaps as much of a points skew as this game but on the Evil side this time, with a bunch of hyperbuffed good Heroes that will need to be carefully managed for Good to survive long enough? For me, it's a thin excuse to see Elessar and friendly heroes be unleashed.
Maybe not hypebuffed but little extra rules and incentives to attack rather than defend so if you drop a troll you restore your Might points or similar 🤔

Yeah it made the trainride much better :). 1 point of feedback. Sometimes you display unit cards with info about might/will/fate etc. Is it possible to add the fightvalue as well? I am not a veteran player so when e.g. Dain fights the troll I have no clue who has the higer fight value.
Someone further down suggested exactly these two! Helms Deep is one of the only ones I'm steering clear of at the mo because the bigger channels are doing it, but Fords of Isen could be cool - and a good board build!
I wish to see more tournement based battle report, with strategy's explained and so on, I am learning by watching, and I don't want to get steamrolled by my wife anymore haha.
Pelennor is 100% happening one day but we've got to do it right so not sure if it will be next. I'm picking tourney armies that will help me get painted for it but by bit though!
Helms Deep was next but it's the only one I plan to steer clear of (plans change though!) because the bigger channels are going for that I think. Fords of Isen could be fun!!

Pelennor is definitely on the cards, slowly amassing Nazgul and orcs for various other projects. We're a long way off Khazad Dum but I think that board build could be awesome!

Always a custom scenario - I've thought with Pelennor about playing a couple of games at once (more players) and stitching them together to look like one big board. Would need to test but could be an interesting way to get a lot more models in play but it's a pipe dream ATM... 😂 Love the idea of a trebuchet shooting from one board to the next... I'm definitely a film-centric olayer but I know book-lovers miss out sometimes!

@twotreesgaming personally, (I'm just throwing out random numbers), let's say 3000 points of Angmar vs 1500 Armor as "Stage 1" Then as Stage 2, you gave Gondor, Elves, Hobbits, and Survivors of Armor at 2000 vs whatever is left of Angmar
Great Video, I'm currently enjoying it but since its so long I will ask questions before finishing it even though that normally is a bad idea. But I just don't wanna forget them. Question 1. Did you inbetween stop using the angmar banner saves to save time or are they just cut out? Q 2. Is Bilbo in the way at 1:25:50 if he is invisible?
Thanks - yeah it's a long one! 1. I cut 90% of them out and we remembered about 80% so there's not a ton in the video. It really did slow the game down, which we didn't account for! 2. Yeah, he base was physically in the way, not the control zone so he's in the way...
Next do the warg attack battle. Rohan plus heroes take on mass of warg riders. Could add in objective of protecting walking train of civilians behind them
I think this would be a great mini-mega battle while we build towards something larger like Pelennor or Khazad Dum. Think we'll probably go Warg Attack or Scouring of the Shire but undecided!

A most entertaining video. I noticed that you used far more eagles than the scenario in Armies of the Hobbit/defence of the North. Where did you scenario come from?
We just made it up with what we had, we knew we wanted the eagles to clear it out at the end so there had to be loads of those and we knew we wanted the hidden Arkenstone for a bit of spice! Glad you enjoyed 😁

On the topic of the next mega-battle, how about the siege of Erebor?
During the third age it was siege by a mainly "Rûhn" force if Im not mistaken so that could be cool.
And I would have loved to see an overview of the armies before the actual match begins, like a walking through what is brought unto the table for each army.
If there is a reason for this not being done stated in a older video I apologize.
Siege of Erebor could definitely be on the cards as Aaron has a decent amount of dwarves and rhun. If the rumoured War of the Rohirrim chariots appear, that could be great!
And yeah we normally do have a more detailed run down but as this wasn't matched play I was trying to get to the action a bit quicker- but noted for next time!

Haha no, no it does not. It's great if you go in there knowing it's a slog but it took about 10 hours!
All your suggestions for the next big battle are cool, Black Gate was my first thought but how about the siege of Isengard, where good have to destroy the dam, would be cool to see a load of ents!

Helms Deep was the plan before they announced War of the Rohirrim but now Zorp and the other big channels will probably do that so I'm on the fence! Would so love to though..!

Legolas and Tauriel seemed prefectly placed to try and hamper the signal tower which was such an important asset for evil - great idea. Were they not able to move there?
Also, there are some strong suggestions for the next one. I was thinking there isn't much in the way of Arnor going around, so maybe a siege of Fornost? Obviously it would need a lot of conversions, but I really enjoyed the adapted rules for this br
Yeah we said they could bring them on anywhere along that edge but on the turn they entered I'd have dropped a ton of goblin mercs and Azog would have been around with the lieutenants, but probably would have been more cinematic..!

Incredible table, incredible models and incredible scenario. I'd love to see the Battle of Fornost. The Angmar lore battles are some of the coolest. 2nd would be the taking of Minas Ithil by the WK.

For me, it's a thin excuse to see Elessar and friendly heroes be unleashed.
Maybe not hypebuffed but little extra rules and incentives to attack rather than defend so if you drop a troll you restore your Might points or similar 🤔

1 point of feedback. Sometimes you display unit cards with info about might/will/fate etc. Is it possible to add the fightvalue as well? I am not a veteran player so when e.g. Dain fights the troll I have no clue who has the higer fight value.

Someone further down suggested exactly these two! Helms Deep is one of the only ones I'm steering clear of at the mo because the bigger channels are doing it, but Fords of Isen could be cool - and a good board build!

Pelennor is definitely on the cards, slowly amassing Nazgul and orcs for various other projects. We're a long way off Khazad Dum but I think that board build could be awesome!

Always a custom scenario - I've thought with Pelennor about playing a couple of games at once (more players) and stitching them together to look like one big board. Would need to test but could be an interesting way to get a lot more models in play but it's a pipe dream ATM... 😂 Love the idea of a trebuchet shooting from one board to the next... I'm definitely a film-centric olayer but I know book-lovers miss out sometimes!

@twotreesgaming personally, (I'm just throwing out random numbers), let's say 3000 points of Angmar vs 1500 Armor as "Stage 1"
Then as Stage 2, you gave Gondor, Elves, Hobbits, and Survivors of Armor at 2000 vs whatever is left of Angmar
And moving round the board I think is nice, rather than just big long lines clashing. This battle would be good for that
Same board different battles? Easterlings on Erebor, Smaug's arrival on the mountain or you could use the same board for the battle of Azalnurbizar.
All good shouts although we'd definitely have to extend it to get the walls/gates for Smaug! I love the sound of azanulbizar.

Thanks - yeah it's a long one! 1. I cut 90% of them out and we remembered about 80% so there's not a ton in the video. It really did slow the game down, which we didn't account for!
2. Yeah, he base was physically in the way, not the control zone so he's in the way...
Next do the warg attack battle. Rohan plus heroes take on mass of warg riders. Could add in objective of protecting walking train of civilians behind them
I think this would be a great mini-mega battle while we build towards something larger like Pelennor or Khazad Dum. Think we'll probably go Warg Attack or Scouring of the Shire but undecided!

It does add a lot! They're just acrylic rods of eBay. I think some are 2mm and some are 4mm, you'd probably want 3mm to be honest!
A most entertaining video. I noticed that you used far more eagles than the scenario in Armies of the Hobbit/defence of the North. Where did you scenario come from?
We just made it up with what we had, we knew we wanted the eagles to clear it out at the end so there had to be loads of those and we knew we wanted the hidden Arkenstone for a bit of spice! Glad you enjoyed 😁
