So I had 6 apricot seeds that I grew, they're now comparable to your day 50 plants in this video. Out of nowhere, they're starting to die! Im down to four, soon to be 3 in a couple days as this next one is shriveling up pretty bad. I usually have a very green thumb, I cant figure out what im doing wrong! I washed my pots before reusing them for the apricots, I have great soil from my compost pile that everything else grows great in. They aren't root bound, nor do I over or underwater them. Any suggestions would be appreciated, but I'm starting to get discouraged with using seeds from any store bought fruit. I had honeydew and cantaloupe do the same thing. Got them to the point where they even started getting flowers on them, then they just start to shrivel up, wilt, and die! I'm so disappointed because I can usually grow anything with great success! Its humbling to say the least hahaha.
Sorry to hear that. It is hard to tell without seeing what is going on but if you water them daily, then probably there is something going on the soil effecting the roots. Remove some soil around roots to see if you can notice any bug/worm activity. You can either use systemic pesticide to drench the soil, or scatter Food grade diatomaceous earth ( amzn.to/3YL9MJf ) around stem on the soil and water. And sometimes it is fungal disease effecting the roots. Mikro-Root amzn.to/483rR9m or Mikrobs amzn.to/480Aj9r might help. Hope your plants will thrive. Good luck.
@@TowardGarden Hey, thanks for the response and tips. That makes sense to me, and I do already have some food grade D.E. I will be giving this a shot this morning!

You are right, probably the seeds were kept too wet. It is better to have extra seeds prepared just in case some go bad. Good luck!
@@TowardGarden ty for replying
I’m confused. It says to refrigerate for 6-8 WEEKS but then it says on day 10, remove from refrigerator and plant into soil. So which is it days or weeks?
you refrigerate them for 6-8 weeks. After that, you take them out of refrigerator, and place them in the wet towel (in a room temperature, not in refrigerator) . 10 days later, plant sprouted seed in the soil. Hope this helps. Thanks.
Refrigerate then take out and leave for 10 more days then 25 days after the ten days finished you should see sprouts
Where can i find this sand
If you mean the seed starting mix, here is the video on how I make it th-cam.com/video/cJZcGDAro6w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RfVq1Yn7mUpMSa4K . Thanks for visiting.

Any specific reason we need to refrigerate?
It is because of a process called "Seed stratification". Stratification is a process of pre-treating seeds in order to mimic the natural conditions that seeds would experience in the soil over-winter. In other words, it is the act of simulating winter conditions - cold and moist - to prep seeds for their usual germination temperatures come spring. I hope this helps and thank you for visiting!
@@TowardGarden That's good to know! Thanks for clarifying. I'm gonna try 😊
Frigero????. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yes, it is to simulate winter condition. Thanks!
I have sprouted these seeds ,planted them in potting soil, are being watered , haven't kept them in direct sunlight but the small leaves that have come out are wilting , what is the problem.should I keep it in direct sunlight or what should be done to prevent this wilting?
I have the same question. I hope you found a solution and that your trees are growing nicely.
@@TheLazyDumpling nops not yet ,I was already taking care of not to over or under water , not to place them in direct sunlight and so on .that was the only suggestion I received .so now leaving everything on god's will .
You might want to check the soil to see if there is anything wrong with the soil. It might be effected by fungi or bugs and damaging the roots. If you have neem oil, you can dilute it and water the plants. Hope you will have you plants back healthy. Thanks for getting in touch!
@@TowardGarden I will do that. Thank you!
apricot grow tru to type ?
Depends on the seed and variety. Thanks for visiting.
I don't understand. During my childhood, we just throw the seeds in our garden and it will sprout 🌱
For hard seeds such as an apricot, it may take a couple years before it sprouts if the shell is left intact.

Please explain why the seeds were refridgerated?
It’s like your making the seed think it is winter

@@TowardGarden Is this step optional ?
Yes
@@annsgal2025 you will have a better germination with that. You can skip that but you don't want to risk and miss the growing season. It is up to you to take your chances. Hope this helps.

Barev, After keeping seeds in the refrigerator for 6 weeks (6 shabat), remove them and put them in moist towel at room temperature (20-25 C). The seedlings in the pots should be in some shade at 15-30 C. I hope this helps and thank you for visiting. Good luck! Շնորհակալություն.

How are y'all "gently cracking" these 😂 mine keeps getting cut in half
The best is to use "locking pliers". Adjust the jaw so it just slightly pushes the shell. Hope it works for you and thank you for leaving a comment!
@@TowardGarden thank you! I will try that!
I prefer to put them tall side up on the flat bottom side of a mortar and pestle, and then tap it with the pestle while holding it in place with your fingers. Didn't break any that way.
@@noob19087 awesome! Thank you!!
I am so dumb i just buried the seeds with the shell T_T
While it is possible for the seeds to germinate with the shells on, it will take a very long time. So it is better to remove the shells. Happy growing.
@@TowardGarden thank you so much
