Inkscape Repeating Pattern Interpolated Wavy Lines Tutorial

  • Inkscape step-by-step advanced-beginner, intermediate tutorial on how to create a seamless repeating pattern made with a modern wavy line interpolated design. Follow along in this Inkscape screen capture showing:
    1. How to set up the repeated pattern square.
    2. Create a unique wave design using Generate Path - Interpolate feature.
    3. Adjust the interloped function to desired output.
    4. Object - Clip - Set function to stamp out seamless pattern
    5. Modify Linear gradient tool for transparency.
    My goal for this channel is to create a community where we can share graphic design skills, tips and shortcuts with a focus on using free or low cost software and tools available to everyone.

    Oh that’s a great tutorial! I want to do data visualisation (or illustration rather in the form of sankey charts for science data). This interpolation function might come into handy (time-saver) 😁 Thank you 🙏🏼

    i have a question about method print color
    CMYK or RGB?
    which better?

      CMYK is the industry standard. RGB is used for most print on demand. Inkscape is still improving its CMYK capabilities, so best to print out a sample to make sure you like the look. Hope this helps!
