I first heard the Peter Cetera version. And then when I saw this one I had to go back and check the cassette and find out that Joesph Wiliams did indeed write this. So now I don't know which version I like better. Thanks for sharing this. A truely great song.
@terrykathforever I agree with you. I think each artist offers something unique =. I personally listen to Chicago, Peter Cetera, AND Joseph Williams, because they are all great in their own way.
i see many similarity in his and michael jackson..singing..and also type of music..that beat,that harmonies..they re awesome both..but michael is by far well knowned..
Because it is so similar to Human Nature. It was written by Steve Porcaro ( synthetiser player of Toto) and from hearing Steve and Joseph you may have mixed them

@@daverproI think joe's voice would never be the same,espeacially in the higher notes which he could reach effortlessly in Fahrenheit tour,the drug abuse took their price and his timbre has changed a lot too but joe is one of my favourites singers of all time and humans made mistakes.
You may want to check your hearing. I like Joseph Williams too (he's outstanding on Toto's _Fahrenheit_ and _The Seventh One_, and sounds really good on Toto _XIV_ as well -- my favorite Toto vocalist), but Joe sounds tired and sloppy here, as if he's just going through the motions to provide a guide vocal/demo for Peter Cetera, who absolutely blew this song out of the water with the clearest and purest of tenor voices on _World Falling Down_. Not even close. I think Joseph would agree.

It's a good song about fatherhood and relationships without being stupid or cheesy. Dark in some areas but ultimately cathartic.

I think the same way too. But don't forget that Joseph fills in the backup vocals in Peter Cetera's version, and he made it so sweet.

Don't forget that this is after Joe damaged his voice in 1988. Joseph was (and still is) in his prime on Totos records.

Enjoy the Peter Cetera version if you like it better. But in no way is it much better than this version. Impossible!
