I never used to have a hard time separating art from artist, but I had an upsetting experience with that about something that is personal to me, so that has made it harder for me overall. We all try like you said, but sometimes it is hard. I think you should definitely appreciate the art of someone who has major flaws, though. It's just not always easy to do. It depends on how you are as an individual as well as to the specific thing they said or did because we are all sensitive to different things.

IMO, what makes Marvel movies is the characters. Special effects and people flying around blowing things up is always fun but other movies are doing it too. For me at least, I enjoy Marvel movies because I love the character dynamic. Actors do play a part in this because I think they are perfect for their roles but what really stands out is the dialogue, character development, relationships between each of the characters, all of that. Action and the special effect is just the cherry on top. I would 10/10 go watch Marvel movie where the Avengers just sat around doing nothing because they had to quarantine themselves for 2 weeks. I don't know if I ever want to get married but watching you enjoy talking about books and bookish things with your husband makes me want to find someone like that too 😊 Literally just blogging things reviews on my own because no one in my life wants to talk about books 😭😭
Ahhh, I hope you find someone who loves you and all your interests 💗💗💗 Also, my favorite Marvel movie is Logan, which doesn’t really have that many special effects, and no one seems to talk about that one as much 😭
The Star books one was SO difficult. I iniitally said 2-4 stars. But in hindsight I feel like 1 and 5 star books are great for video content. You can have amazing gushing and funny ragey rants lol
I would definitely rather be spoiled on a major character death than a poorly used resurrection trope. Bringing back a character from the dead is already a tricky thing to do without cheapening the initial death of that character. If you do it badly, that just ensures the death was cheapened and there was no point beyond shock value.
If my favorite author was rude to me I'd literally never acknowledge their existence anymore, but I'm okay with doing something embarrassing because it's a funny story for both me and them lol
Great video! With the spoilers one, I voted that way but can also be very “don’t tell me anything at all” if it’s something I am really looking forward to reading and plan to read soon. But I also watch spoiler videos sometimes for books I might read one day in the future but aren’t as fussed about. I figure time will fog my memory and by the time I read it I will have forgotten anyway!
As a Doctor Who fan, the 2nd question was a no brainer. For the first few series the budget was almost non existant, and yet, the show had so many good moments.
So much fun! I just did a 2 part Would You Rather video with my husband two, with bookish questions from a blog, it was a lot of fun. I liked this one with the polls so you could also see more of what others said too.
For the "high budget and terrible casting vice versa", I definitely feel that having a good budget trumps other aspects, if only because a person who hasn't read the source material wouldn't be bothered by the casting, but would be bothered by the budget.
I never DNF a book so a great ending can save a slow read for me. On the other hand, when I am really into a book and the ending sucks I’m left angry and disappointed!
A lot of these heavily depend on the books you read. Most of the books I read are old and I'm talking 100+ years. Therefore, I often know beforehand if some of the characters die. Also, if the author mentions that someone is coughing, you basically know there's a chance of dying
Speaking of reading a book until the ending thats how I felt about the scyth series. I loved the hole series till the end of the last book and that was so frustrating. However there are so many book that were just ok and had a wonderful ending and that made me love the book. But it really depends on the length of the book.
This was super fun to answer as well! And difficult haha, I also didn't know what I originally answered for a lot of these. For the last one I also picked having a major character death spoiled instead of bad use of the resurrection trope and I still stand by that but I just read a book where my favorite character died and now I'm thinking 'just revive them, I don't care how you do it' 😂
For the second one, I'd rather Terrible budget, great casting too. Because if it's a great cast and it somehow becomes popular, it could have a better budget in the next seasons/movies and potentially be more and more popular.
For the great casting vs high budget honestly the most important thing is the writing . If the screenplay makes really weird or needless changes that ruins it for me even if the casting and budget are great
Question number one, option two actually happened to me....i still cringe, details below... (Would you rather meet your favorite author, they are really nice to you, you do something embarrassing) I went to bookcon in NYC in 2018. That year BrandoSando was there and he was the number one reason I got a ticket to go! The ticket add-on to meet him and have him sign a book was sold out within such a short time I wasn’t able to get a slot :( fortunately I had the positive energy to wait until the end of his signing hours (along with a few other fans who couldn’t get a slot) and he was soooo nice he saw us waiting and allowed for us to meet him and get a book signed!!! When it was my turn he asked if I had any questions for him. I had a hundred....and they all flew out of my head the second he spoke. All I said was “you’re my favorite. You’ve eclipsed Jane Austen and I love your work like I love hers” he responded “oh, that’s a really nice, I actually took my wife to see Pride and Prejudice on our first date” and I, like an asshole said “oh, well if it was the Kiera Knightly one, that one was bad”.....WTF IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!?!?! Excuse me, I have to go hide in a hole now.
When I met Joe Abercrombie he was absolutely lovely BUT I was really anxious because I went to the event alone so I kept having a crazy eye twitch all evening. I don't think he noticed but the memory is quite bittersweet because I just remember being a nervous wreck 😂
Somehow the endings are never good enough for me, so I'm usually disappointed anyways. Thats why I don't care too much about the ending, when the rest of the book is fantastic. I often forget about the ending but the rest of the book is still very present in my brain. One time I managed to read a whole bookseries but left the last 40 pages unread because I thought that I would like it more if it ends at that point. Sometimes I would rather imagine an ending on my own and try to explain the reasons for the actions etc. by myself. 😂😅
The toughest question for me is the main character/love interest question. I suppose it would come down to how prominent the love interest is in the book. My gut says I'd rather have a strong main character, but you did make a good argument for the other option.
This was a fun video. I've met a few different authors and I never know what to say to them, so I'm much more likely to embarrass myself. It took seeing Deanna Raybourn FOUR times for me to get the courage to ask her a question during the Q&A at the book signing and I was sitting in front so I didn't have to talk loudly. Lol. The first time I met her I talked about book boyfriends and then felt ridiculous.
I actually met an author years ago who was so rude to me I never recovered. She was mad my book to be signed was well used and not brand new. At the time I had very little money to buy books new and I told her many people at this convention were just like me so I told her I hope she didn't treat anybody else like that and stormed out. She even assumed maybe the book was borrowed, stolen, or not properly paid for. What a snob! My mom was a librarian. Books were family!
I think I desagree. DC movies have huge budgets too and they aren't well recieved. Might be because I am a huge marvel fan, but I think the casting (particularly of the first heroes chosen) was key to make Marvel what it is.
@@DryBooks Exactly !! No matter how great the special effects are, the cast is what made Marvel so amazing and MEMORABLE for me. RDJ, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett, both Toms JUST EVERYONE😍
does anyone know about that book where someone is killing the people in the royal line of succession so the next in line (who was the 16th in line before i think) has to figure out why someone is killing them? kinda wanna read it but idk the title or the author
I think for the boring MC vs love interest, it depends on the book. If it's a romance bookor a book where the love interest is important, then I do prefer an interesting love interest, but if it's a book where I am inside the head of the MC (as in first person) and the love interest doesn't appear often/just isn't that important to the plot and character development, I think an interesting MC is more important. On the great vs disappointing endings, I feel like this question doesn't really make sense. Just the fact that it has a great ending makes it a great book in my opinion, especially if the rest of the book is ok. Maybe I just have low standards. Same with the cliché vs unique, the book being unique already makes it better in my view. Major character death spoiled for me definitely. I don't care about spoilers all that much to be honest, unless its like a huge plot twist in the middle of the book that completely changes the course of the rest of the book. I feel like character deaths are used as a plot device a lot, and I tend to care about the characters more than the plot most of the time.
I would WAY rather be spoiled for a character death. Even without the threat of a bad resurrection trope I will seek out character death spoilers if I like the character enough. You know, so I can emotionally prepare myself.
I HATE to be embarrassed like...I'll think about it for years and it'll be terrible. But I'd hate if my fav author was a jerk so I think I'd rather die internally for years lol It's so fun when you do vids with your hubs! I agreed with the majority in all of them except the one about the star books. I choose 1 and 5 simply because I've never DNF'd a book so I'm used to pushing through haha.
I hate being embarrassed, but also...I don’t think I get that embarrassed anymore. So if I was embarrassed, it would mean I must’ve done something super ridiculous 😂
I'm surprised more people prefer interesting MC over the love interest, since in most popular romance-centered books the MC is a bland self-insert, and the love interest is designed for the readers to have a crush for along with the MC. Seems to work for most people.
I think we hate the resurrection trope done badly (which unfortunately I've seen quite a few times) not the trope in general^^ And I hate spoilers too, but that will end up being my problem, not the book's, the book can still be great and you can even pick up some things that are impossible to pick up in first read. If there is a badly done trope in it, that can ruin the book for me :)
I actually, in the long run, enjoy 1 star books more than 3 star books. I mean, I'd rather feel strong emotions than just "meh." And paired with 5 star books? It evens out
I would rather read an OK book that's really unique and does cool things with the tropes..... because if this book is the first in a planned series and/or the first book an author has ever published, it could make me feel really excited about what'll come next. If the author listens to the feedback and keeps improving between entries, I could eventually look back on the first book and say: "It was an OK read, but the start of something amazing" and the improvement in quality over the following entries could raise how I feel about the first.
@@ebnovels I found this with The Wheel Of Time. "The Eye Of The World" is an OK book, VERY derivative of "The Fellowship Of The Ring", BUUUUUUUUUUT..... Robert Jordan also laid down some of his own cool tracks and went on to write a series which is inarguably a pillar of Fantasy.
I totally agree with you Elle on the boring MC versus love interest. I mean I see both sides but I think I'm in the minority with wanting ana interesting love interest.
For me being such a character driven person, if i cant stand the mc, even when the love interest is GREAT, i tend to lose interest. I dnf, whilst if I have a great mc I can bear the burden of a boring love interest, if it isnt a central part of the story.
Generally, I don't care about death spoilers. If I know it's coming, I'll enjoy my time with that character and just be at peace when they die because I've known about it this whole time
I totally understand Sean with King's books. I really wanted to like King, but I have a love/hate relationship with his writting. I tend to like A LOT of his concepts but not the entirety of the book, so I tend to like the adaptations way better. On the other hand, Warbreaker. The book was ok... I mean, I was coming off a book hangover, so Warbreaker felt great but not mindblowing. That said, the last 30% of it goes from great to FEAKING AMAZING.
@@ebnovels I read it right after Mistborn Era1 trilogy. So Warbreaker had a rough time trying to get to me. But after finishing it, I could appreciate the whole story better. It helped me get over Mistborn's hangover. So that says a lot of how good it trully is 🤣 now it's one of my favorite stand alones.
I think question #4 is tough because of its tricky wording. A book you ultimately evaluate as "good" will be objectively more enjoyable than one you ultimately evaluate as "ok" … regardless of the reasons. Rendering the rest of the question (the important bit about tropes/cliches) irrelevant. Wording aside, I'd probably pefer an excellent example of a familiar setup to a less well realized example of a unique one. Stories are a bit like music in that way (for me atleast); in that much of what I enjoy listening to within various genres is broadly similar, but finding that perfect combination of whatever qualities matter to you (instrumentation, timbre, rubato) that best encapsulates|expresses those familiar ideas is still a revelation … and why we all have favorite songs rather than just liking any ballad or any anthem.
I would say the endings one also slightly depends on if there is a sequel. I don't really want to read the sequel to a book I didn't enjoy that much, but if the ending is amazing then I might end up doing so. (Which might then be good or bad depending on what the sequel is like of course.) If the book is good in general but has a poor ending, then reading the sequel might actually rectify the poor ending.
@Elliot Brooks your response to the romance question evokes the run on gags relating to Ann (george michael's girlfriend) and how his dad forgets about her
Gotcha 🤗 Sometimes when my hubby is on, people leave really cruel comments about either me with him, or him with me, so when we saw your comment, it seemed like that’s what you were referring to for a sec there. But yes! Haha, exactly that from arrested development for the romance question. Thank you for elaborating. I didn’t want to jump to conclusions, and I appreciate you taking the time to clarify 💗
The author question is interesting, but I would much rather embarrass myself and the author be nice about it. I embarrass myself constantly anyway 😅 Also, although I can mostly separate the art from the artist, I think my two favourite authors are really nice people and them being rude would really disappoint me. I wouldn't care as much, if it was just an author I like reasonably well and don't know much about anyway (I don't know much about most authors I like, so they could be horrible for all I know). I hate spoilers, but I hate the resurrection trope more, so I would prefer the spoilers, if I had to choose 😆 I also don't get why so many people always complain about King's endings, I read all of his books except the Dark Tower series and there was not one ending I had a problem with 🙈 🙈
I haven’t read any Stephen King books yet, but I think I might like him since I would say I would rather a book be great all through and have a disappointing ending. It’s usually only main character deaths or something sad happening to them that will be disappointing for me, and I still like those books that have done that. (I may knock off a star for that if I have to rate it though) 😊 The resurrection trope doesn’t seem to bother me - I don’t like it when my favorite characters die, so I love it when they come back to life, lol! 😁
I'm one of the minority that prefers a really good book with a bad ending. I know this is strange, but I always find that the ending is my least favourite part of any book. I'm very much a character based reader, and most of the time the best character interactions happen in the first 3 quarters of a book. The last quarter is usually much more plot focused.
Too any cliché situations/ tropes = ok. Too any clichés phrases ( ie - - can’t hold a candle ; beauty only skin deep; tail between his legs) = ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
Hot take: I would rather someone spoiled a major character death than someone spoiling who lives. OBVIOUSLY I want neither (I hate spoilers with the most burning of passions), but telling me who lives takes out the entire suspense of a character "being in trouble" when you know they're going to be totally fine. I want my books to give me anxiety! That's why we read, no?
@@ebnovels You should read A Song of Ice and Fire. I hear everyone lives in that series. But for real, maybe that's why I like Sanderson. I actually get to know the characters before they die...

1. I would much rather embarrass myself then come to terms with my favourite author being mean to me. My social anxiety can't handle angry people. 2. Casting is way more important to me than the budget. 3. I'd rather read books either 1 or 5 stars. Who knows what the ratio is. There could be 10% 1 star and 90% 5 star books. 4. I'm here for the cliche's and tropes. The way I look at it, if the book has a cliche you don't like, it doesn't count as a good book, right? 5. I rather have a fantastic MC than a fantastic love interest. I read books for the MC's not for their love interest. I quickly DNF a book if I don't like the MC because I'd rather not be annoyed all the time while reading. 6. I'd prefer great books with bad endings. I can just pretend the ending didn't happen and make my own up. If the book itself is bad, I'd rather DNF it then not enjoy myself for however many pages. 7. Spoilers over resurrection, no questions asked. Besides, I'm a very forgetful person. I can reread or rewatch something as many times as I want and there will be a lot of things I have forgotten, even character deaths. I watch spoiler reviews constantly and still have absolutely no idea what will happen. I'm not exaggerating. Sometimes having a shit memory has it's uses.
I know I'm in the minority here, but for me I really could care less about spoilers. It's about the journey of the story for me, and sometimes the spoilers are what make me want to read the book in the first place so I can see how something goes down. I've gotten spoiled with character deaths before and it didn't ruin the reading experience for me, I was just like but why/how does it happen? But I get people not wanting to be spoiled at all, that's very few and far between with me though.
Honestly for the first one, I would rather my favorite author be rude to me. I have no issue writing off someone that turns out to be gross; to me there is no story worth supporting that malarkey. I would rather find out than live in ignorance of bad behavior
I low key (but not really) gasped about your marvel comment. I disagree but only because Ive heard so many people (including myself) say theyve never cared for any of the avengers pre MCU (iron, thor, captain A. etc) and now we love the those characters. That can really only be due to the casting. (Budget still really helps tho lol)
no shame rather be embarrassed, better casting, 2-4 star, good book w/cliches, super boring mc better love interest, ok book with great ending, & major character death spoiled

Ahhh, I hope you find someone who loves you and all your interests 💗💗💗 Also, my favorite Marvel movie is Logan, which doesn’t really have that many special effects, and no one seems to talk about that one as much 😭
I loved this would you rather challenge and Elliot please do a bookshelf tour video.
I did one at the beginning of the year! I might do another around the middle of the year though 😄
@@ebnovels Oh, I didn't noticed, no problem, I'll watch that. I am excited for your mid year bookshelf tour.
That’s true-it’s rare for that to be done well!
If my favorite author was rude to me I'd literally never acknowledge their existence anymore, but I'm okay with doing something embarrassing because it's a funny story for both me and them lol
Titans has amazing casting, pretty good budget, but still sucks.. It's the crew and producer that matters tbh..
I already read mostly 2-4 books... But what if I get just 1 5 star and the rest are 1 star.......... Can't decide
Good book with cliches, I'll look for familiar tropes because I enjoy them and if they're good I'm sold!
Fantastic MC, Idc about love interests much.... unless they're horrible, then I'm simply ignoring canon -_-
Great ending great ending all the way, I agree with both of you!
Would love to see another one of these "Would you rather" in the future, twas fun.
I might try to do book-specific ones :D
Great video! With the spoilers one, I voted that way but can also be very “don’t tell me anything at all” if it’s something I am really looking forward to reading and plan to read soon. But I also watch spoiler videos sometimes for books I might read one day in the future but aren’t as fussed about. I figure time will fog my memory and by the time I read it I will have forgotten anyway!
As a Doctor Who fan, the 2nd question was a no brainer. For the first few series the budget was almost non existant, and yet, the show had so many good moments.
I’ve never watched it 🙈🙈🙈
So much fun!
2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2
...Up, Down, Start. Have I successfully unlocked Elliot as a character in a fighting game?
Indeed. But you still haven’t unlocked my other armor 💁🏻♀️
We want moreeeeee and can i just say theyre couple goals
Haha, you’ll see him again very soon 😄
Good acting and people who are right for their roles can bring bland or bad special effects more to life.
Hahaha, that’s a good point 😂
Ok so I just checked out your website and my husband and I love Dominion! It's one of my favorite board games!
For the last one I also picked having a major character death spoiled instead of bad use of the resurrection trope and I still stand by that but I just read a book where my favorite character died and now I'm thinking 'just revive them, I don't care how you do it' 😂
This has taught me that I like low-budget, great characters, unique plot, 2-4 star books. Thanks 😂
Hahaha, I’m glad I was able to help you discover that about yourself 🤣
For the second one, I'd rather Terrible budget, great casting too. Because if it's a great cast and it somehow becomes popular, it could have a better budget in the next seasons/movies and potentially be more and more popular.
Exactly how I feel!
For the great casting vs high budget honestly the most important thing is the writing . If the screenplay makes really weird or needless changes that ruins it for me even if the casting and budget are great
That’s super important for sure!
I so agree about the Stephen King thing.
Question number one, option two actually happened to me....i still cringe, details below...
(Would you rather meet your favorite author, they are really nice to you, you do something embarrassing)
I went to bookcon in NYC in 2018.
Hahahaha, oh my gosh, that’s adorable 😂 And you know what? Sean’s mother would agree with you 🤣
@@ebnovels thanks! I still cringe so hard when it passes my mind. Loving the videos with you both!
When I met Joe Abercrombie he was absolutely lovely BUT I was really anxious because I went to the event alone so I kept having a crazy eye twitch all evening. I don't think he noticed but the memory is quite bittersweet because I just remember being a nervous wreck 😂
Awww, I’m sorry that happened! That’s pretty funny though. I was super nervous when I met the violinist Joshua Bell 😄
If you did something embarrassing, the author will remember you :D
Oh man, extra layer added 🙈🙈🙈
Somehow the endings are never good enough for me, so I'm usually disappointed anyways. Thats why I don't care too much about the ending, when the rest of the book is fantastic. I often forget about the ending but the rest of the book is still very present in my brain. One time I managed to read a whole bookseries but left the last 40 pages unread because I thought that I would like it more if it ends at that point. Sometimes I would rather imagine an ending on my own and try to explain the reasons for the actions etc. by myself. 😂😅
Ohhh, that’s interesting! I can be kinda picky about endings 😅
Good acting can make or break but great special effects can take it from good to fantastic. 🤷♀️
The toughest question for me is the main character/love interest question. I suppose it would come down to how prominent the love interest is in the book. My gut says I'd rather have a strong main character, but you did make a good argument for the other option.
Exactly! It totally depends...so I’m mean for making people decide 😂
Hahaha, oh my gosh 😂 I love that you being in the front helped you so much 🤣
You know this is hard when you answered all of these, but then hearing them back youre not too sure what you picked lol
Hahaha, exactly 😂😂😂
I really liked this video!!
I think the spoilers thing shows how the most vocal comments are not necessarily the majority of reasonable people. 😆♥️🪴
Absolutely! 💗
Oh my gosh, that’s TERRIBLE! I’m so sorry that happened to you 😦
I think I desagree. DC movies have huge budgets too and they aren't well recieved. Might be because I am a huge marvel fan, but I think the casting (particularly of the first heroes chosen) was key to make Marvel what it is.
YES!
@@Riya-pv5zy the writing too of course. But one can't say Iron Man could've been anyone other than Robert Downey Jr. Right? Lol
@@DryBooks Exactly !! No matter how great the special effects are, the cast is what made Marvel so amazing and MEMORABLE for me. RDJ, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett, both Toms JUST EVERYONE😍
@@Riya-pv5zy hahaha happy to find another big fan. Feels like most book nerds I meet aren't the biggest Marvel fans.
Not well received, but people definitely still go to see the DC movies 😄
does anyone know about that book where someone is killing the people in the royal line of succession so the next in line (who was the 16th in line before i think) has to figure out why someone is killing them? kinda wanna read it but idk the title or the author
Long May She Reign? I think that’s the one you’re referring to! It’s a fun, quick read 😄
@@ebnovels oh yeah i think that's it! thanks!!
I’m always surprised when I hear people say they don’t care about spoilers! And yeah, the first thing you mentioned definitely depends 😂
I would WAY rather be spoiled for a character death. Even without the threat of a bad resurrection trope I will seek out character death spoilers if I like the character enough. You know, so I can emotionally prepare myself.
Dannngggg, that’s brave 😂 I don’t want to know! Then I’ll be sad the whole book.
I love these videos with you and your husband please stay safe love you both love from your number one Australia fan John
Thanks! He’ll be in a couple more soon 😄
@@ebnovels can not wait would love to see him make you read his top ten books 📚 please
I watch ASOIAF theory videos even though i haven't read the books yet and i still plan to. Id rather know whats coming than be disappointed
my same thoughts on stephen king, particularly the outsider. that was a frustrating end
I might do the 2-4 star one. I don't always agree with the star ratings, so I'd probably like or dislike them more than the average anyway.
I HATE to be embarrassed like...I'll think about it for years and it'll be terrible. But I'd hate if my fav author was a jerk so I think I'd rather die internally for years lol
It's so fun when you do vids with your hubs!
I think it’s a testament to how much we hate a bad resurrection trope that a majority chose spoilers....because we also hate spoilers! 😅
I know, exactly! 😂
I'm surprised more people prefer interesting MC over the love interest, since in most popular romance-centered books the MC is a bland self-insert, and the love interest is designed for the readers to have a crush for along with the MC. Seems to work for most people.
You know, I think part of it has to do with the people who follow me on IG. Idk that a lot of them like romantic plot lines that much 😂
What I took away from the last one's result: A lot of people just really really hate the resurrection trope 😂
(P.S.: I personally hate spoilers more.)
Hahaha, I know 😂😂😂
I think we hate the resurrection trope done badly (which unfortunately I've seen quite a few times) not the trope in general^^
And I hate spoilers too, but that will end up being my problem, not the book's, the book can still be great and you can even pick up some things that are impossible to pick up in first read. If there is a badly done trope in it, that can ruin the book for me :)
I actually, in the long run, enjoy 1 star books more than 3 star books. I mean, I'd rather feel strong emotions than just "meh." And paired with 5 star books? It evens out
Ohhh, that’s a good point! There’s something therapeutic about venting over a book you didn’t like 😂
I would rather read an OK book that's really unique and does cool things with the tropes..... because if this book is the first in a planned series and/or the first book an author has ever published, it could make me feel really excited about what'll come next. If the author listens to the feedback and keeps improving between entries, I could eventually look back on the first book and say: "It was an OK read, but the start of something amazing" and the improvement in quality over the following entries could raise how I feel about the first.
That’s definitely worth noting! It being a debut or first in a series makes a big difference.
@@ebnovels
I found this with The Wheel Of Time.
I also get both sides, but if I’m following a character, I need them to make sense! 😂😂😂
For me being such a character driven person, if i cant stand the mc, even when the love interest is GREAT, i tend to lose interest. I dnf, whilst if I have a great mc I can bear the burden of a boring love interest, if it isnt a central part of the story.
I met Sarah J Maas and cried. So that was definitely embarrassing. But she was literally the most kind person.
Aww, that’s kinda cute though! I almost cried when I met Joshua Bell 🙈
Generally, I don't care about death spoilers. If I know it's coming, I'll enjoy my time with that character and just be at peace when they die because I've known about it this whole time
Dang, I’m so the opposite. I won’t be able to stop thinking they’re always about to die 🙈
I LOVE Warbreaker 😍 But I also enjoyed pretty much the entirety of that book.
You’re right, the wording definitely tweaked it. The music example makes a lot of sense!
i would rather with an ok book with a great ending....
That’s a great point! I’ve definitely had books I didn’t really like but the end made me want to keep going in the series 😄
As awkward as I am, even if I didn't prefer it, I'd already just embarrass myself if I ever met one of my favorite authors.
Hahaha, might as well stick with what you know 😂
@@ebnovels Yay for social anxiety. 😂
I want Elliot to do an audiobook of First Law with all of her silly voices.
It’d probably be better than Steven Pacy’s narration 😌
Have you seen arrested development? "Her?"
We have seen it. Mind elaborating? Right now it seems like you’re being rude, but I don’t want to assume.
Oh sorry I didn't know that, I've always thought you guys are really cute together
No worries at all! Really truly, you did absolutely nothing wrong 😄😄😄 And thank you for being understanding about me wondering!
I hate spoilers, but I hate the resurrection trope more, so I would prefer the spoilers, if I had to choose 😆
I also don't get why so many people always complain about King's endings, I read all of his books except the Dark Tower series and there was not one ending I had a problem with 🙈 🙈
Hahaha, take the King comment up with Sean! 😂 He definitely doesn’t like the endings, but I think one of them was Dark Tower, ironically 🤣
Keep your jeans high and tight, mommies! 👖 I'm here for a Would You Rather anytime! 😂
You just have to TRY IT OUT 😂
@@ebnovels Haha! Sure!!! 😂 I'm home here now!!!!
I haven’t read any Stephen King books yet, but I think I might like him since I would say I would rather a book be great all through and have a disappointing ending.
It’s usually only main character deaths or something sad happening to them that will be disappointing for me, and I still like those books that have done that. (I may knock off a star for that if I have to rate it though) 😊
The resurrection trope doesn’t seem to bother me - I don’t like it when my favorite characters die, so I love it when they come back to life, lol! 😁
Ohhh, the resurrection trope seems very unpopular. Such a hipster :P kidding of course 😂
What's your favorite good book with too many cliches?
Ohh man...idk! Maybe Ash Princess 👸🏻
You know, that makes a lot of sense! You’ve definitely made that question harder for me now 😆
Too any cliché situations/ tropes = ok.
Too any clichés phrases ( ie - - can’t hold a candle ; beauty only skin deep; tail between his legs) = ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
Hahaha, I will forever remember not to use those 😂
Hot take: I would rather someone spoiled a major character death than someone spoiling who lives.
OBVIOUSLY I want neither (I hate spoilers with the most burning of passions), but telling me who lives takes out the entire suspense of a character "being in trouble" when you know they're going to be totally fine. I want my books to give me anxiety! That's why we read, no?
I get so much anxiety about character deaths 😂
@@ebnovels You should read A Song of Ice and Fire. I hear everyone lives in that series.
But for real, maybe that's why I like Sanderson. I actually get to know the characters before they die...
Hi 👋 have u for got any plans for ur birthday?!! I got few book before my birthday 🍰!! Sometimes can’t believe we share same day birthday!! 😊📖📖 like ur videos 📖🎬
Happy early birthday! I think I might do a liveshow 😄
I can't believe so many people would rather be embarrassed! I kind of assume my favs are a**holes anyway, and I'd rather them be rude than do something that I have to think about while trying to fall asleep every night for the next 15 years
Hahaha, Sean would definitely agree 😂
Hahaha, the last question-your answer is so true for people who forget details. Sean is that way with books 😄
Other people have expressed similar things, so you’re not alone! 😄
I truly hate the resurrection trope. Case in point: the new Star Wars saga.
Haha, I...don’t like any Star Wars 🙈
@@ebnovels *stab to the heart*
Honestly for the first one, I would rather my favorite author be rude to me. I have no issue writing off someone that turns out to be gross; to me there is no story worth supporting that malarkey. I would rather find out than live in ignorance of bad behavior
The second option doesn't necessarily mean that the author is just acting nice. They can be genuinely nice. And imo, probably are.
It bothers me that you haven’t crossed the 100k subscriber threshold!
Well that’s really kind of you! Eventually, but I enjoy making the videos regardless 😄
I'm surprised by some of these, but like Sean I also can't remember how I voted for a few of them
Hahaha, new day, new answers 💁🏻♀️
no shame rather be embarrassed, better casting, 2-4 star, good book w/cliches, super boring mc better love interest, ok book with great ending, & major character death spoiled
I am totally ready to embarrass myself if it means I get to meet an author 😭❤️. Pls don't think I am weird😅
Not weird! I think this has taught us we’re all willing to embarrass ourselves 😂
