@@RonCarterBassist besides the camera work, the combination of rock solid groove and heart felt improvisation is unmatched. Many have tried, most have failed. Ron is the 10/10 bassist (and human being, if you've ever had the chance to talk to him)
Herbie did Glastonbury last year, and is still strutting and grooving with the keyboard he wears around his neck.. he was brilliant through out the 1?hour set. He’s 83
I don't understand how they follow the chords with all those far substitutions. Yet the 12 bar structure is as simple as possible. But I feel lost. Help !
I’ve always felt that Herbie had a raw deal. He was in the Miles quintet which had : The best jazz musician of all time The second best jazz musician of all time whilst also being the best saxophonist of all time The greatest bass player of all time The greatest drummer of all time Herbie is not the greatest pianist of all time But he sure as hell is one of them
How did the “Thelonious Monk Institute of jazz“ become the “Herbie Hancock Institute of jazz?“ Something seems seriously wrong here. It should be possible to honor Mr. Hancock without dishonoring Mr. Monk.
Thank you for sharing... Looking forward to being back on the bandstand with Herbie later this month.
I love your playing in this!
Great to know that both of these legends are still alive
This is the best camera work I've ever seen on a bassist
I appreciated it! So glad to see the music is still appreciated

A question: The blue lights has had a clever significate with Thelonius Monk title?
Thelonious Sphere Monk through the lens of Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter..... Excellent Meeting.
Maestro! Ron Carter!
So glad you enjoyed, and thanks for your kind comment!
Nobody can walk a bass like Ron Carter. And damn these guys are good together!
William Mitchell ..
.Ray Brown, Milt Hinton, Oscar Pettiford, Israel Crosby. The original bass walkers.

Different from the versions I normally hear but still a very good performance. Two legends, still alive and performing at the highest level.

Herbie channeling Wynton K.
Looks like Ron is playing Percy Heath’s bass
Is the bass mic thirty feet away?

Did the guy just introduce him as Ron Clarter?
Did he just said "Ron Clarter"? .......
Sounds like Bill Cosby mc'ing. He has a weird speech impediment.
Metió una letra más, la L. De Carter se convirtió en Lovezno en la mitad de la interpretación 😂😂

Videos good. They miked the piano great but they did a terrible job miking Ron.
ハービーの演奏はユニーク。🙄
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Not the way Monk played. Too fast, too smooth.
Unless you're Monk it's always going to be too fast, too smooth. It's not Monk, get over it.
Para eso es jazz.Libertad para hacer una versión más lenta o rápida 😉
Disagree; even though he’s not copying Monk’s style, he’s got the rhythmic and harmonic eccentricity going on, under the layer of butteriness.
Chet Baker
?
what about him?
