(to say nothing of covid, which makes this idea even more insane) there's simply no procedure for that, much less a "MORAL OBLIGATION" lol
Way better for them to just eat the food than for it to end up in a dumpster. Australia's health and safety laws have similar analogues here in the States, and in most places which have health and safety laws at all I would assume. Once they've gotten their hands on food, that food really shouldn't be going to other people. Possession is nine tenths of the law and all that.

50:20 reminded me of a video I saw. Basically, it explained that everything you do is nested inside goals. The video used the example 'tickling the baby'. Why tickle the baby? Well, that's nested inside 'play with the baby'. Why play with the baby? Well, that's nested inside 'be a good parent'. Why be a good parent? That's nested inside 'be a good person'.
So if you've had a hard day, and someone says "You fucking moron, that's not how you tickle a baby," you're not just being chastised in that one layer, but that chains all the way up to "you're a terrible person" and then you cry because someone said you were tickling a baby wrong.

the husband yelling at the wife with ADHD story, i can really relate to the wife in that scenario (eventho i am a man), i have missed very important deadlines, due to just simply, forgetting even with setting alarms, imagine an alarm goes off but you're in the middle of dinner, and then you decide okay, when i'm done eating, i'll go sort that out, only to find 2 minutes after deciding that, you get completely hyperfocussed on something else, and then just never getting around to it again, now i've started setting MULTIPLE alarms, and hanging post-it notes of things i ABSOLUTELY CANNOT FORGET. but even that sometimes really just isn't enough. it's a pain, and i am glad my partner really helps me in this regard.
But that is not to say the reaction of the husband in this regard is unwarranted, regardless wether it's over the top or not, it is incredibly important that he has his meds as he claims, and he is in complete right to express his frustrations fears etc. sad that it is so extreme, but given the gravity of the consequences, completely understandable.

Helps that my phone uses the sleep button as a snooze and doesn't turn off the alarms. I hyper-focus but I'm not generally forgetful. I believe task/event management is something they should teach specifically in school. Not just as a byproduct that some get and some don't. It's not an easy situation. You want to address the daughter's behavior in a way that makes her see her actions are terrible, so she can adjust her behavior and become a better human and a better sister.
However, if you fail to get this across with your chosen punishment, she might decide that her stepsister is the cause of her misery, which could turn your kid into the bully of your other kid. The opposite of what you'd want as a parent.

I found it sad that the husband seems to fully understand what he did wrong (screaming at her while she cried, slammed doors, was generally rude), but instead of making the logical decision to apologize and end the story with "I took some time to clear my head and apologize to my wife so we could calmly discuss what we should do next" (which would 100% make him NTA), he went to Reddit to feel justification for his behavior. Like dude, if you're feeling guilty for what you did, just go apologize to her.

Imagine how traumatic that would be for a teenage girl. I see absolutely no problem with taking a room away that was promised to a child in my house that I'm paying for if the circumstances change. 12:56 I like the way my cousin last year did their child free wedding. They are childfree and have no intention of ever having kids, and didn't want kids at their wedding. However they also understood that people in the family they want to be there have kids. So they basically just organised it such that if you were invited to the ceremony, you were allowed to bring your kids, but if you weren't then you were not. That way it was basically just a couple of kids in the immediate family (e.g. my niece), but if you weren't immediate family then it's basically saying "it's okay if you can't come". Sure it might've sucked for the people attending later, but if you don't want kids there it seems like a fair compromise to me!

I don't think 200k a year is "forget how much things cost" money, at least where I live. It's not top 1% money, and it's definitely not use Bill Gates as a metaphor money.
In the U.S. you need to make like 550k to be in the 1%, I think the guy might just have never researched wedding stuff because he never really wanted one.

Okay but the guy actually said a bunch of stuff that shouldn’t all cost 70k

It's certainly not the 1% but it is leagues above the average. The average yearly income in the US is around 30k so to most people 200k is an unbelievable amount of money to earn a year.
