Nobody believes me, but one day my sister and I were working at a horse barn when I had finished my chores early. Out of pure boredom (and being alone), I tried picking a coke machine. I used a little tension and pushed each individual ball inside the keyhole using some paperclips. Suddenly, the main latch popped out! I had genuinely picked a coke machine! Unfortunately, I was so excited and convinced that I was was a master locksmith that I shut the door to show my sister how I did it...and I couldn't get it open again. Perhaps it was a fluke or just pure luck. I looked like such an idiot though.
Great video. This is where I learned DIY to handle the years' old lock of lost keys, and I tried with the tools like yours. Both the 7.5 and 7.8 tools can fit in the tubular, but which size should be used? Thank you.
Somehow the inner and outer alignment slots got misaligned and the key was removed. I tried moving the center part with a screwdriver to align with the outer slot and it won't move. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,
I bought a set of tubular lock pick just like your's but I lost the little metal bars that you insert on the inside of the tip. I think they're called tensioning bars. Where can I get those bars alone? I read somewhere that you really don't need them, but I have my doubts about that. Do I really need them for a certain type of locks or should it work with everything fine?
I just got the box of 3. It's in. Japanese though. I've put the tension stick in and it's just wiggling the lock. It has moved a tiny amount . I'm sure there is a rhythm to it and it will take practice. How do I know if it's the right size? The gold one is way too small. The purple is a tight fit and doesn't move the pins. The blue one is the one ive been working on and the pins move , just not the lock . Any suggestions from anyone please?
I have a US General rollaway cart from Harbor Freight and the lock has never worked properly. Now it is stuck and my keys won't do shit. I bought one of that very same lock pick kits that you have and tried all 3 of them but can't get it to open. I am betting I am not the first and damn sure won't be the last to have this problem. Harbor Freight is of NO HELP whatsoever. I'll bet if they had to pay a locksmith to come and open every one of these that malfunctions they would either fix that lock or get a new design, something that isn't made by Fisher-Price. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? I can get the pick to turn a bit but can't tell if it is doing anything or not. I tried turning it a bit, pulling it out, sticking it back in and turning it a bit more and repeating that process but nothing ever came of it. I don't need my tools every day. I am not a mechanic by trade but when I need the tools, I really need them. Now I am stuck with a 500# dead weight full of tools that I can't get access to and can't use.
A pin may be stuck and not letting the other pins set. Try single pin picking it. Here is a good video from LPL on how to do single pin pick a tubular lock. th-cam.com/video/jY9PJxVWORE/w-d-xo.html
You will need a special turning tool to single pin pick. Keep that in mind. If single picking doesn't work the lock may need to be drilled and replaced. I have had more lock ups on cheap tubular locks than probably any other lock.
So if a pin falls in it should still be able to open right? I have a broken lock and a pin is missing or fell in and u can only see the spring which is pretty messed up itself. Please help
