Whisky.com reviews the Glenfarclas 105 16 Years. Glenfarclas 105 is an important cornerstone in the distillery's range. In 1968, George S. Grant came up with the idea of bottling the whisky undiluted from the cask as a Christmas present for employees and friends. An ingenious innovation, as most whiskies at the time were blended and marketed at drinking strength. The special edition to commemorate this idea was bottled for the first time in the history of the distillery with an age statement of 16 years. 105 proof corresponds to 60% natural cask strength by volume, from which the bottling takes its name.
We only ship to the Netherlands and Belgium!

Indeed, it does taste intense, say 46-48%, but one would never guess over 60%.

Still none can compare to the great 185.

I’d love to enjoy the flavor of various whiskeys however I am unable to get past the taste of the alcohol. Tried to sip it - no go.

You get used to it, try adding a teaspoon or two of water.

I only started drinking whiskey about 3 months ago. Take small sips and give it a week or so of a glass a day, you will get past the alcohol and be able to taste the flavor behind it.

From where you are, it will take a good 1 to 2 years before your palette gets used to the alcohol.
Start with 25% whisky 75% water. And every month reduce the percentage of water. In a year or 2 you'll absolutely refuse to add water and you'll be like us!
Good luck on your journey of discovery. It's very rewarding.
