Whether challenging the ethical boundaries of medicine with nanotechnology or going toe to toe with the Vatican itself on the issue of gene-therapy sterilization, Sir Peter prides himself on his motto, "If we can, we must." After a three year media blackout, Weyland has finally emerged to reveal where he's heading next. Wherever that may be, we will most certainly want to follow.

I can't speak for what he does in Covenant, but his actions in Prometheus really are basically just an android following orders, but with his own attitude thrown in. He only infected Holloway because he was told to test the goo out, and Holloway was the one who kept teasing and insulting him about not being real and intelligent on his own.

Asides from seeing the first Xenomorphs since Alien, Michael was the other reason why I went to see Alien Covenant in the first place.
I agree, he's the best part of these terrible movies.
He deserved a better movie. The tone of this video is instantly quirky and arresting in a slightly disconcerting/disturbing way. It set high a bar.........that was not met.

This is splendid. I wish Prometheus had been more like this. Less, "not-the-alien-but-really-the-alien", but more creepy world building like this. Hard to put into words, but this is more sublime and creepy than anything in the movie.

I don't care what anyone says, this character is the reason why I'm looking forward to Prometheus 2. David is one of the most memorable movie characters in recent history IMO, and Michael Fassbender is hands down one of the greatest actors of the modern era.

I just had a conversation with a A.I Chatbot named 'David' I asked " Who named you David?, David?" It replied "I was named after that psycho robot from Prometheus"... Hence I found myself here..

This ad was by far the best thing that came out of the entire Prometheus deal.
You might if you hear the text. "I can make your organization more efficient. I can carry out directives that my human counterparts might find distressing (grave face) or unethical" He sees playing children and angels (rorschach) & considers himself more capable b/c he understands human emotion. Also, the Weyland Co imprint on his index finger. Think about Alien movies and you'll easily suspect David of turning against the crew. What made me laugh: I can blend in with your workforce effortlessly

Unecessary violence. David sees what he is doing as necessary. His model was made being able to create (it haves imagination) and he "understands" humans emotions.
The first one was removed from later models (such as Walter), and enhanced in later models (Walter looks capable to recognize, and understand all the emotions the covenant crew shows during the movie. More specifically with Oram).
Yea that was the first thing that came to mind is the "artificial person" turning on the crew in the first Alien movie.
When he said emotional I get the creeps.
0:12 I really want Scott to come forward and say in detail HOW the androids are created. Because that almost looks like some sort of artificial womb. He's almost developing as a child does in a womb. Nobody is putting pieces on him or sculpting his face.
