October 2, 1985 Pre-Sign-Off Sequence - WBNG (CBS, Binghamton)

Pre-sign-off announcements and promos on CBS affiliate WBNG in Binghamton, New York, recorded early in the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 1985. Here, longtime station meteorologist Bob Buchanan reads a list submitted community events (he eventually became so renowned at WBNG, the station's mobile dial code for weather forecasts was *BOB.) Unfortunately, the source tape didn't include the sign-off itself.
WBNG also served as the default CBS affiliate in the neighboring Elmira-Corning market, as that area didn't have its own CBS affiliate until ABC affiliate WENY added it to a subchannel in 2008.
WBNG's logo here was in the style typical of stations owned by Gateway Broadcasting at the time, such as WTAJ Altoona-Johnstown, WLYH Lancaster-York, and WOWK Huntington-Charleston.
