I enjoyed this video and applaud you for including this bird in your family outings. I did and they really seem to adapt well and show off for strangers once socialized.
He is adorable & so sweet & clever. But he really needs to be in a carrier in the car. If you're in an accident he will catapult across the car. i know of a budgie who was killed in a very minor accident due to the momentum. Keep him safe.
Shelby Robinson my wife was pulled over in a random breathe test once, the cop loved chilli but said the same thing, in future keep her in a carrier cage, for the same reason
We have a 2 year old female, she is wonderful, loveable, hormonal and psychotic lol But learning new words and phrases all the time, I was making up some formula today in the kitchen for the baby cockatiels and chilli flew over onto my shoulder and said "what are ya doin?" Another time I was cutting up her fruit and veggies, she flew over onto my shoulder and told me to "hurry hurry hurry up" They sometimes forget they are birds hehe.
Thats a real charming parrot :O not as obnoxious as some can be, ive heard that Eclectus is a bit more quiet than most kinds of parrots (some ^^ i bet some are just as loud as any other ^^)

I just want to tell you that if you ran into the back of someone or had to slam on the brakes, your beautiful bird would fly forward with such force that I would be afraid he would not survive. I understand wanting him close, but you need to be aware of what can happen and weigh that against the risk. I have two Eclectus, both about 18 years old, a male, Winston, and a female, Ruby. It's clear you adore Happy!
Wow... that was a lot of talking for an Eclectus.... really impressive! Can I ask you how you let him go to the toilet while driving? Mine went every 20 minutes or so normally and if he helt it back, because he felt it wasn't a good time, could do 30 minutes or so.... So no long car rides on my shoulder would have been possible...

@@beaglegod1 we have no idea what triggered the change he just woke up one day and decided to be perpetually grumpy and started plucking his feathers. he was 4 years old when it started and he’s been on prescription antipsychotics from his vet for about 3.5 years now so the plucking has become less frequent and he recently has become more friendly.

i saw this video years ago and i've never forgotten it. it inspired me to incorporate an eclectus parrot into something i wrote once. such a delightful video. it says a lot about your home that he identifies singing, giggling, affection, and healthy snacks as common flock calls. i hope you all are doing well!
A few days ago while me and my mom were at a gas station we met a guy who drives around with a parrot in his car. He took it everywhere including down to texas. He also said it could anything, and it talked while he was driving.
I don't know why but I found it sooo adorable when he said "Big car" 😂😍
So did I, I think my heart melted at that point
