Always enjoyed the way Thorin told Galdalf in Bag End that he wouldn't be responsible for Bilbo's fate nor could he guarantee his safety, yet at the Thunder Battle when Bilbo falls over the cliff edge, Thorin grabs and hoists Bilbo's entire body up to the dwarves with just one hand, when Bilbo's entire body weight is just hanging there. Then to cover his concern for Bilbo, he nastily remarks how Bilbo's been lost since he left home, yet he's staring at him the entire time as if to make sure he isn't injured. Lord forbid any of the 'company' suspect Thorin of having a heart...or even a friend. I love how this friendship developed in the movie: wish the book had drawn a similar conclusion. Always thought there was a closeness missing between these 2 in the book.
The video is beautiful, the music very appropriate and this is quite possibly the best Bagginshield video I have seen, but I keep going back to the part where Thorin does his majestic walk over the fallen tree trunk. That shit is epic.

Yeah the book is very subtle (I finished it yesterday). I love their relationship, but not in a sexual way, that's all X) People are free to think anything they want ;)

They were created like that and one should appreciate the effort and care than went into their characterizations and their relationships with the other characters, not lament because they're of the same gender of whatever other person they fit well with. There's enough canon heterosexual couples for you to gush over. Let everyone else enjoy the homosexual fan couples yeah?
when i was younger and my grandma read The Hobbit to me, she made Bilbo, Dori, Nori, Ori and i think Oin girls. maybe at one point Elvenking was actually Elvenqueen. idk i was like 4. then when i watched the cartoon for the first time when i was 7, i was all confused and then MY LIFE IS A LIE!!!!
Elves and humans aren't the same species, yet that's happened, twice in Middle Earth :P They do in a more subtle way in the book. *spoilers* Bilbo cries after Thorin dies and such, Thorin accepts him, etc.
