I originally thought FT was prettier than the F/X games, but after buying FT I find that most of the songs that aren't from F2nd which already have refined pvs look kind of hideous. The models don't have ANY facial expression when singing, and they end up looking really souless and dead eyed, whereas F is pretty good at avoiding that. Also their faces are way way too wide and shiny, it's like plastic. The hair looks amazing though
That's because songs that were in the original 3 games (Project Diva, 2nd, and Extend) Had good motion capture quality, but had the mouth-shape (for each vowel. You would probably see the mouth shapes are more exaggerated in older songs than songs that are fairly new) quality, and sometimes, facial expression quality of a F/F2nd Edit PV, or maybe even worse at some points. When F/F2nd came out, SEGA took some songs from the original three and re-mastered the PVs, giving them better expressions, better lip sync/mouth-shapes (I really don't know what I should call it lol) and those cool Chance Time Success Effects. When they made PDFT, the changes to the old songs were not implemented, leaving the PVs of the older songs looking like they did in the original Project Diva Arcade/Dreamy Theatre, except with some edits such as better hair and textures (all though, sometimes I find the shading to be not-so appealing, such as the shading for the Roshin Yuukai/Meltdown stage, or the Moon Stage (or the Disappearance of Hatsune Miku Stage)
I think one thing that ruined it for me is that none of the songs that got updated PV in F/F2nd had those PV's in FT, they're still using the old PDAFT pvs which in my opinion look boring (Clover club, worlds end dancehall ect)
Plus FT has a lot more facial animations, the character is there but some people really liked the "anime" look that F and F 2nd had. Personaly, I wish they had made the PS3 versions of these games like the DT games, they had better physics and models, but also had better gameplay being 60FPS and all.
SolarAutumn Miracle paint is totes better on Project Diva F2ND though I think in Two Breaths Walking, it's look the same and a bit better on Future Tone... The part on what I love with Future Tone on these two songs ( Two Breaths Walking and Two Faced Lovers ) is that Miku looks a look more realistic especially on Two Breaths Walking
People are forgetting that the Arcade's songs are based on the original version released (unless otherwise stated in their title). Even if you remember a song from Diva F or F 2nd, that doesn't meant the Future Tone equivalent is the same since half the playlist from those two games were "classic songs" that were originally released in Diva, Diva 2 or Diva Extend.
I'm really like the way ft looks, and I love the big collection of songs but i really like the edit pv and diva room thing in pd f/f 2nd, i prefer the controls in project diva f as well cause they're easier and I love the double note thing that ft doesn't have sadly, but i kinda like that you don't have to play every song in ft to unlock others so you don't have to play some songs you don't like (I'm looking at you world's end umbrella) and since the models are easier to buy and get, not to mention the ability to change heads. Both are great games tbh
Igatosis both games are really good but i will always stand by f/f 2nd for creating the most enjoyable experience with a rhythm game. i just found future tone lacking a bit.
ft is better for the gameplay, the f games are better for the experience, like, chance time, every song had a special video, where as ft doesnt, only some, even some that did have a chance time effect didnt get it in ft, also the style of the models, etc, the f series are probably better for beginners
It's probably just cause F2nd was my first diva game, but I just find it a lot better. Don't get me wrong the models and physics are better in FT, but in FT you can hardly see anything. The only exception is Decorator tho, it looks stunning in FT. The thing I miss the most tho is that most of the songs that had great chance times as well as fun patterns in F2nd, Two Faced Lovers I'm looking at you, all got downgraded. They lost their uniqueness in the chance time and I felt like it was missing iconic patterns. Like in the Intense Voice of Hatsune Miku there are two parts I love in it that were also carried over in X, the Circle, Square thing across the screen and going from really to slow to pretty fast. TL;DR F2nd is more iconic and FT just has better 3D parts, the physics/models
Try mute one of the footages cuz it gets annoying and maybe try to do it with just PVs if you're only trying to show the graphics. Other than that, this is a well set up video! Good job. :)
Idk...there's a reason why people like 2D girls over 3D... (because sometimes less detail is better) Personally I like PS3 models better but a few I think look better on the PS4.
GUYS if f2nd played at 60f it would look flawless with better hair physics and shadows. It’s almost equal to how future tone looks other than the hair physics and the dimensional eyes. You can’t lie, f2nd has done an amazing job of keeping up with all the new stuff.
If you want realistic expressions, I prefer F2nd If you want a more expensive and better experience (Hair physics, good shaders etc.) then Future Tone is for you.
James Colmenares that was before the even touched upon the f series in 2010 when the first PSP game got a mega PS3 upgrade with Dreamy Theatre. They decided that they have to do it with the rest in the series to keep flowing good or it would have been incomplete and a bit weird. But like yourself, I wish the F series were 60fps.
Rejected Tyrant PS3 can’t run 1080p 60fps in F series, and can’t run at 60fps 720p in the Dreamy Theatre. Only PS4 can handle 60fps 1080p. But sega dint did the port ;-; I wish sega release F and F2nd to PS4 with X HD graphics

I find myself really fond of both art styles, and they have their own merits for sure. But there are some things that get changed between games that are just definitely better or worse to me. Taking away the cane Miku is dancing with in Miracle Paint from F to FT makes the choreo look odd, like she keeps forgetting what to do with her hands. But then, having a light directly on Dream-Sequence Miku in FT's version of Yubikiri as opposed to the more silhouetted lighting in F is much nicer, makes those sequences feel a little more warm and dreamy, and contrasts more with the Reality segments. In one game, the camera angles may be just slightly different from each other... The list goes on.
spica, envy cat walk, two breaths walking and happiness and peace of mind committee are the only ones that i think genuinely looks better, but the others feel like they tried to update things without worrying abt composition. thousand year song or whatever genuinely looks worse imo.
I like the coloring of F2nd's enviorments a little but I think the character models look so weird. Like something about the coloring of them make them look kind of out of place and make it hard for them to blend into their enviorment. My biggest example of this is Knife in F2nd.

Just bought Japanese special physical edition of Future Tone. Turned on my favorite song from ps3 Diva F - Himitsu Keisatsu. I was fucking disappointed that they completely remapped it.
For some reason I prefer the PSP version instead of the F2nd version, I think I like the more simplistic look but I also really like the realistic version like the Dreamy Theatre, Arcade and Future Tone
Personally, both games are great and have their own best features. I like FT over F2nd because of the graphics (ofc) and also changing the rhythm patterns. In FT, they really count for all the beats in the Hard Level compared to F2nd. IK F2nd has different patterns like the Stars and the Same Button Mash Arrows, but I like the change with using the hold button for extra points and the creative two button patterns. Basically, tl;dr, the gaming mechanics of FT are better

Future Sound is the pack that contains the songs that originally released in DIva 1, 2, Extend, F and F 2nd. So obviously any songs from Diva F 2ns will be a Future Sound song. Just a FYI, ColorfulSound songs are songs from the Project Mirai series or exclusive to the Arcade.

Personally I prefer Future tone. I never played Diva F2nd, but I did play Diva X, where the button icons were so small. Not sure if F2nd had that. But yeah, I prefer Future tone
The console versions have smaller buttons. The Vita doesn't. It's has the same size as FT's. Though in understand it since it's playing with a small screen. And idk why FT have big buttons tbh. Is it because the arcade is only 720p?
You can play dreamy theater on the ps3, its basically a psp remake of the games with future tone graphics, but its a little complex to get them to work, especialy if you don't have a japanese psn account with money ¥, a psp with the original games, and a program for the psp for each game to transfer save datas, the game has an annoying process where you have to connect the psp to the ps3 for passing your save data and continue your game.
Why not just show the PVs in a video like this? It's very distracting seeing the notes fly by, even more so when the person playing is constantly losing their combos...

There’s are mods call F2nd edition which changes lighting and adds extra effects from pdf2nd
PS3's more cartoonish, with bright colors, while PS4 opted for a more realistic look.

For me the best in Graphics is the X HD, but the gameplay is poor compared with the FT and F2nd

I actually like Miku's more slender face in f 2nd as apposed to future tone a little bit. Everything else however, FT is an upgrade imo (graphically).
I love the graphic look to F2nd it looks more anime-ish so I stick with F2nd, that too because I think F2nd was the best Diva game of all time!

f2nd is beautiful, good light, anime characters in 3d, stars are fun, arrows fit better just better
From a gameplay perspective, Future Tone is the way to go. Playing these songs in 60 FPS is a game changer.

It doesn't matter, I still love F's graphics way more than FT... Such a shame that they didn't put enough effort on effects in F as they did in FT
Personally I prefer Future tone. I never played Diva F2nd, but I did play Diva X, where the button icons were so small. Not sure if F2nd had that. But yeah, I prefer Future tone
The console versions have smaller buttons. The Vita doesn't. It's has the same size as FT's. Though in understand it since it's playing with a small screen.
And idk why FT have big buttons tbh. Is it because the arcade is only 720p?
I only played FT so I can't really tell the differences (I'll maybe buy F and F2nd because I got the PS3)

There is also a Project Diva F on the PS3 u can get
You can play dreamy theater on the ps3, its basically a psp remake of the games with future tone graphics, but its a little complex to get them to work, especialy if you don't have a japanese psn account with money ¥, a psp with the original games, and a program for the psp for each game to transfer save datas, the game has an annoying process where you have to connect the psp to the ps3 for passing your save data and continue your game.
F2nd have the best effects, FT have the best graphic.
Cel shaded (lack of self shadowing) vs figure-like (has self shadowing)
If Cell Shaded is well used, it can be great.

Why not just show the PVs in a video like this? It's very distracting seeing the notes fly by, even more so when the person playing is constantly losing their combos...
Please forgive my crappy play. But I wanted to show you how the softness of the notes due to the difference in fps makes a difference.
I only wish for FT to add Edit PVs!!!
I feel like sometimes Future Tone is duller and colorless compared to the Vita/PSP versions of Project Diva
